LG G2 Verizon Stock Rooted VS98012B - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone flash this ROM and it work?
I just tried to flash and when it rebooted it just keeps booting into TWRP?
I preformed a restore of my backup and all good now.
Are these ROMS going to work?
FYI I am using TWRP from FreeGee...

I am running out just fine. Installed with CWM though.

I just flashed the 12b last night. I used Flashify to boot into twrp.
Worked better and easier than expected.

Kendive, if I have helped you simply click the "Thanks" button, like this...
* My best combo was rooted w/CleanRom 1.0, flashed 12b modem, TWRP 2.6.3.3, and using G2 Xposed. It was the best, but Scott (scottsroms.com), stopped developing for this phone hence no 2.0

I guess I need to push CWM because I am still not having any luck.
I just flashed malladus-vs980-1.2.5 and just get a black screen so I had to reboot back into TWRP and reload my backup again.
Never had a phone have this many issues flashing roms.
I just gonna try [email protected] and in TWRP if you select Zip file sig verification on any of these roms it always fails? I know I am getting a good download.

Dont do the verification, just run the ZIP. Is Mdus 1.2.5 lokified?

Not sure if it's lokified... Probably not...
Either way I flashed LG-G2-VZW-DigitalDream-v2.1 and it's working great and a great rom so far.

TWRP Backup

So I made a complete backup with twrp today. My question is why do they give you the option to backup your recovery? Isn't twrp your recovery? If I was to backup from that stock backup would I be replacing twrp? What kind of inception is this lol.
Thanks.
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
I wonder the same thing but maybe it's if you flash cwm you can flash back to twrp but I tried to flash to cwm the other day and it said it was my recovery but would only boot into twrp. So I pretty much have no answer to your question, just more questions.

I used flashify. Can adb push too. I prefer CWM.

Because you just never know how badly you are going to screw up. Besides, you can check it off the list if you don't feel like it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is. If I mess up my phone that bad that I damage the recovery then the backup I made is useless no? If I messed up my twrp recovery then the backup I made of everything can't be flashed anyway.

No, because you backup your perfectly good system BEFORE you screw around with it. It's your safety net.

Yeah I understand that. But if I obliterated my recovery how would I even go about using my good backup? I would have no way to flash it.

Since TWRP is skinnable and otherwise customizable, I'm going to assume the thought was that the backup saved your customization within TWRP.

Koush the maker of Clockwork Recovery, is also part of the CM team. Obviously they won't mention TWRP if they don't have to. So yes its fine.

Go to teamw.in/projects and look for twrp and look in there download it for your phone model and install flashify from playstore and flash the downloaded zip and reboot and it will take care of it.

CM 11 download
I am a complete Noob and first post. You may have already found this. But qbking77 had a post and video about this. He linked to cm 11 and cm 12. I am new here and can't post links. I'm not trying to siphon people from the site or make money. But if you go to http : // downloads.codefi.re/shelnutt2/g2/spr
His video about it can be found here: http : // qbking77.com/how-to-root/root-lg-g2-variants/
I hope this helps. Just got the G2 and learning all I can and ANXIOUSLY awaiting the tethering fix.

Thanks, could you post a link to it? I usually use flashify, but ill probably do it in recovery.
I wonder why none of these are being posted in the sprint development section. I understand that they are wip, but most of them are anyway.

Im having a huge issue getting TWRP 2.7.0.1 or any version of TWRP to install. I am used to flashing HTC style and now im just confused and getting frustrated- i used flashify and downloaded the zip and extracted the img, flashed and rebooted- when the phone reboots i get an error message that is like 3 lines long in either red or white text. Any help would be amazing, thanks

actually we used to be able to use flashify with most of the 4.2 firmwares of g2, the kitkat update overcomplicated a lot of things for us here but we are still going strong
Yeah ive been doing a lot of research and I'm amazed at how many obstacles y'all have overcame- so glad that I'm apart of the community now! One more question that I havent quite found a definite answer for- now that im rooted, have TWRP 2.7.0.1 and have downloaded a rom/gapps on phone... Do I just reboot to recovery, backup/wipe, install rom and then gapps and reboot system and thats it? Or will I be soft bricked... Thanks in advance for any info

Which rom to be more specific ?
Always try reading the 1st page of every thread, then look back for at least 4-5 last pages to see if there were any issues.
For non stock roms you would require to flash "aosp kk baseband" by dr87
Also watch the thread if your variant is actually supported.
New, updated roms(non stock) are also maybe updated to 4.4.2 sources and don't require the upper "aosp kk baseband" but you will learn how and why in no matter of time, cheers
I troll the OP/threads and Google for hours and hours before finally posting a question. Going from the Rezound to the G2 is a massive difference in procedures lol added a pic of the zip i was thinking about flashing. Thanks

I did not backup, but I do use Dhacker29's CWM recovery. Xposed automatically creates a removing flashable zip in case you get a bootloop.
