My phone is stuck in a bootloop. I don't have a backup of my stock rom. I have managed to sideload a couple of roms over to my D802. I go to install on TWRP and my rom is listed as sideload.zip??? Is that correct why doesnt it show as PA or any other rom name??? Anyway once i choose install it completes then i reboot but my phone still keeps bootlooping every time:crying:
Anybody please help me through this?:good:

I have twice tried to update my tablet with the OTA update but each time it downloads fine then during the update process I get a error message with the picture of the robot. My tablet is stock rooted. Do I need to unroot before I can update to 4.3?
Thanks for any help.
Do you have a custom recovery? If so, that's why its failing.

Thanks for the reply. I dont have CWM or TWRP recovery in my app list. Any other suggestions?
Hey guys,
Whenever there is a new system update on my galaxy s4 (this time, JB4.3), it downloads, and then I click restart and install. Instead of booting normally, it boots into recovery and does nothing. I use TWRP. It launches and does nothing. Then I have to reboot and don't get the update. Does anyone know how to fix this? Now the update won't show up for another week.
Thanks in advance,
Gameriot

? you're getting a 4.3 OTA? im assuming you're running a GE ROM?
what ROM are you running? OTAs never apply when you're running a custom recovery.

There is a 110mb update available through sprint for me called ls980zv7_01_to_zv8_13. Do I need to unroot before applying this update? I don't want to brick my phone again.

That's the only way to get rid of custom recovery? Darn it took me a while to customize this phone.

Nope. It's still there. Might have to bite the bullet and revert to stock.
Anyone have any info on the update?
I tried searching real quick but didn't see anything.

What update? That's also a pretty big size for a minor update, if so, KitKat? Hey a man can only hope haha

Just found it.
Says audio enhancement and google security patch...
That doesn't add up.
They're leaving a lot out obviously.
I can't post the link on here because it changes a couple parts of the link to smiley faces.
Go here: http://support.sprint.com/support/
Select lg.
Select g2.
On the far right near the bottom under "Device Resources" select "Find and update the software version on your LG G2"

I reverted to stock to install it. Its the same android version. The software version number changed to LS980V8. Can't notice anything that is changed.

Which instructions did you use to revert to stock? I'm stock rooted with twrp. I'm guessing that I need to revert back to stock recovery at the least.

As long as you've got a custom recovery installed, you should be able to install a ROM. Just wipe system etc and install a new one. Ota updates only work on stock recovery as far as I know.

D80110g on mine after updating. I'm on tmobile.
Hello xda. I have a simple and probably stupid question but i have rooted my g2 and installed twrp with little to no issue. I downloaded the hellfire kitkat rom and flashed it through twrp. Is it normal to get a bootloop after install? After install i wiped like everything in the posts said and when i rebooted i just got the lg logo looping. I let my phone sit for about 10 mins like that before recovering my original rom.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct ROM, first? 2nd, be sure you are using at least TWRP 2.6.3.3 or you will have problems.

Yeah i downloaded the file for the ls980...which is the sprint version of the g2. I installed the gapps right after. I believe that i am using twrp 2.6.3.3 becuase when i tried to install 2.6.3.2 it made my phone go into fatboot mode. I will double check that as well.

Just checked on the twrp and indeed i am running 2.6.3.3
Did you try fixing permissions (I saw in hellfire rom thread that after flashing you should fix permissions and then reboot)

@E4with - the gapps package is the problem. You're flashing a 4.2.2 package on a 4.4.2 ROM. Update to the correct gapps and you won't bootloop.

That was my original assumption aldo but i checked the gapps pack and it is 4.4.2. So im still not quite sure what the problem us with the hellfire rom and my device. Also i tried the aeon flex rom and it worked and booted but would not give me and iption for mobile data usage so now im starting yo think that maybe i need to unroot and start over again.
I still think it's the gapps package being too old. Update to the newest one from yesterday and try again.
