[Q] Transparent/Semi-Transparent status bar for Nova launcher

I am using Nova Launcher and would like to have either the transparent or at least semi transparent status bar. Is there a mod for that or a setting? The solid color just looks bad... wouldn't mind a mod to make it always transparent but at least on the launcher

does it work with all versions? Does it give transparent status bar while in launcher. I'd like to see it transparent if possible, changing the color doesn't help all the much. Do do see that thread with all the system UI changes and it does have the option for transparent while in third party launchers but I don't want all the mods just the one...

You can't have it transparent with any 3rd party launcher. Only stock

as stated above there is a current mod that does this. The only problem is it also comes with a lot of other mods that I'm not exactly wanting. I may give it a try and report back...

Yeah, same here. I don't want all of the other mods that come with the transparent bar. I appreciate the dev for his work, I just don't need them.

Anyone have any luck on this? Nova is a must but status bar is ugly being a different color.

The exposed mod in the development section does transparent with nova. Has a few bugs but it works...

It doesn't say it but when I add it it is transparent... my guess is it is built into the black status mod?

So you're using the G2 xposed module and getting the transparent status bar in Nova with the black status bar box checked? Definitely not transparent for me.

U sure u don't have any other status bar mods.... on my d800, its just black, like described in the module....no transparency at all...

I'm sure, it may be that I am running the bell Rom. All I do is enable it, reboot, then go to my home screen and lock the screen and when I come back to nova it is semi transparent

Changing stock launcher icons

How can I change the icon for the app drawer using the stock launcher?

Long press the icon, then youll see the purple brush on the icon. Press it and ull be able to change the icons

That's what I wanted to do. So it's not possible? Is there a location for the icons that I can access with root to replace it?

U can. U have to find the icon image and change it. I used to change the stock icons of different roms using number of tools myself when i had nexus and s3. But it's too much work.

I downloaded CleanRom to my pc and used 7zip to find the file (its in "LGHome_Theme_Optimus.apk"). Look in the "drawable-xxhdpi" folder for the png labeled "lg_dockmenu_ic_allapps.png" Then replace it with whichever png you like. You should name it whatever the original png in the app was named.

Can I just copy the lghome_theme*******.apk to my pc, make changes(png, name), then copy paste it to the phone in the proper location, change permissions, and good? Do I need to unzip, make changes, re-zip? Just looking for a little clarification, as this would be my first time doing this kind of mod.

Yes, icon themer works great, but it doesn't change the App drawer icon on the Verizon phone, stock launcher.

So i found these files on my AT&T version with Solid Explorer and want to try to replace the LG Optimus theme with one of the downloaded ones I've found by renaming and overwriting, but I don't know how the accompanying odex file works and if I need to change that also. I really just need the aosp app drawer icon changed. Any ideas?

Or doesn't change the app drawer icon though, which is the goal of this whole post. Check out your app drawer icon in the picture, its still gray with the white squares. So is mine, plus changing my dpi changes up its size.
And has anyone found how to remove icon labels from the home screen on stock launcher? It looks a lot cleaner without them.

You should do a "fixer" like you did with JB and kill Holo blue entirely.

What roms you guys use for this theme? Are there any stable fully working roms that support themes?

CyanogenMod supports themes. Its still very much a WIP but is a daily driver, just doesn't have all the features merged in yet.

Will tthis only work for cm? Like im currently using cataclysm rom.. will i b able to use this theme

you can only use this theme with roms which make use of the "theme chooser" engine. cataclysm does NOT make use of this engine. it's hit or miss from rom to rom. check the rom thread's OP for a feature list and/or changelog.

themed aosp mms bubbles slightly
reworked text on all on/off toggles system wide & placed text ON buttons instead of on background
removed a lot of holo blue text google left in from jelly bean ( reboot dialog, pop up meu's etc. )
replaced blue action bar background in notification panel with a kitkat grey color
fixed a couple broken images
optimized the apk for better performance.

I'm using Paranoid Android(4.0-BETA) and I don't see any option in 'Settings' to change the theme anywhere... would love to be able to apply this theme.

Are those icons really greyed out? They kinda look dull to me.. Maybe something went wrong when i applied the theme.. The rest is working fine though..

That's something like reverse emboss effect and, at least for me - it's looking great...
It's not too colorful and I really like that...
Simple design, straight lines and just few colors - one word - awesome -

got it.... so the glitter style of lockscreen is also from 4.4kk...... try porting the lockscreen for 4.3jb users ?

After applying this awesome theme many apps:
- Clock
- Messaging
- Phone
Were force closing.
Wiping data of these apps and a reboot solved it!
So if anyone has issues after applying this theme you could try this!

It's PA and yup sleep (hover) button is not themed no bother

Exactly.. Not fully dark but themed like the contacts apk. I also have the neon theme but I'm enjoying this one at the moment. Thanks.
Edit: the three dot menu button in hangouts is nice with the shade and all but barely noticeable because its white on white.

Amazing theme but I have a problem while playing clash of clans.. I can't get the navigation bar to come up fully.. So can't go home or back

Awesome theme, got the pay white version from play store and I love it and its my daily driver now. The only thing that I notice is that the blue in the clock, battery and signal icons in the status bar is the same blue as in the upper bar in the Settings windows which makes it really hard to read. Perhaps a lighter or diffident color would make reading easier. Thanks. GREAT THEME! :good:
