You probably can't do it, since all of the drivers and such are for 4.2 onwards.

What bugs?
Screen flickering ,random lags when accessing settings or apps.

I've seen none of those problems at all. No screen flickering, no lag, nothing.

Got a source for the upcoming update?
U must be the lucky one, I been searching and seems many have this problems. Do u use the Google services like all the sync features??? What about drive?

Chrome seems laggier than it should be, hope there is some issue there than can be fixed to improve performance.
Every Nexus 7 I've had so far (that'd be 4) have all had washed out looking greens and yellows and over saturated whites. Hoping that is something a patch can fix.
Tegra 3's Prism smart dimmer feature causes the screen to look over exposed while and after videos play (fades away after a few seconds). I've disabled the smart dimmer, so it's okay for me, but seems like an issue that needs a patch.
I have seen nothing in JB 4.1.1 that would require an update at this point.
Might as well expect an update for dark pixels.

Screen flickering is a known hardware issue
Mine lags bad from time to time. I wonder if it has to do with google now because my galaxy nexus lags just as bad if not worse when i tap the google now search bar. I was trying to find and app (shazam) and thought it would be faster to look for it through now, but it lagged and lagged and lagged. By the time I got the app open, the song was over and I couldn't tag it.
My Gnexus is great, fast ,no complains at all,Google now is quick I got no lag, but on the nexus 7 it becomes a problem to the point that I have to switch it off and use the browser.

I use dropbox which is pretty much the same in terms of resources. I have play movies, music, currents, books. I have pandora on there, google now, generally everything you could need. I've done this on both stock 4.1.1 and on Paranoid Android (every iteration). Literally NO lag. Even being slightly underclocked.

Nope, it's from a poorly soldered wifi chip, that is drawing power away from the screen when wifi is low.
I had this issue, and called Google personally for support, and the person confirmed that the screen flickering was hardware, not software.

That's what I thought he meant, but I think he means 4.1.2 to fix any bugs (that I haven't noticed) in 4.1.1

Never had any of that so I doubt its a "software issue". If it is its likely something you installed.
quick update about the lag on the nexus7:
i used Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 to root and install recovery about 4 times ,and in all this times i had problems with lag ,so two days ago i decided to restart again and root the n7 with Galaxy Nexus ToolKit v2.0 but without installing the custom recovery.
now it very quick and as no lag at all,and yes i loaded the identical apps all the previous time.
ideas???

I think most of the lag is because of a bad app or a setting somewhere. Glad to hear you got it sorted out. I'm just looking forward to the update that fixes the bootloader issues with accessing recovery without the usb cable or using terminal commands/adb/apps.

[Q] Random crashes

My Nexus 7 which is running on SmoothROM 4.1 and the M-Kernel, is freezing regulary since last week. I didnt install or mos anything, so i wpnder why it crashed. It isnt OC`d. I dont know how I can upload logs, just say it It freezes the screen and reboots after 3 secs.

Well, without any sort of kernel log/logcat of any type, it's anyone's guess...
Reflash the ROM only and run that for a couple of days before flashing another kernel, or try another ROM altogether.
Hm, can u say to ms, how i can make a log?

You'll probably want to pull a dmesg log and/or kmsg log, I've never done that but here's how you can pull that info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520508
At that point, if you get these, you'll want to send them to the ROM and kernel developers of the ROM/kernel you're using to see what they see in those outputs.

Bluetooth Not Turning On Sometimes

Do you guys ever have bluetooth just randomly stick, as it just doesnt turn on after you turned it off?
Dont know why this problem isnt more popular... I'm on AOKP Milestone 1 w/faux Kernel
Anyone?
Happens on my device too. It seems like its not as popular as other bugs though .. ?
Anyway heres a the most active thread about this issue

Slow Nexus 7..

For some reason my Nexus 7 is strangely slow lately idk why, but I want to know if anyone else has seen there Nexus 7 lagging? And if anyone knows how to speed it up? Posting screen shot of my system info.

Exactly the same here. Typing's hard work, and tapping icons or buttons can take a couple of tries before it registers. All updated and tried a reboot.
You should upgade to 4.2.2, make full wipe and start from scratch. Then you will see if lag is still there.

Try lagfix(fstrim) anyway it free and took only a few seconds to finish it's job. Even you're already have more than 5 GB free but in the old kernel seem to have a problem with nand flash controller.

Pfm, I think you just got lucky. Will it consistently work on 4.2.2. If you now go to 4.3 will it work?

nope.. i came to a conclusion that any android version under 4.2.2 will work consistently (tried custom roms and even 4.2.0 and still consistently worked) then i tried every version 4.3 and up and it sent me to a bootloop every time.
ps im using Wug's toolkit to flash these.
