Region lock. Note3 SM-N900 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I have a sim unlocked SM-N900. I'm in Morocco now and use a local sim card to make phone calls. I also tried my Canadian sim card (Rogers) and I am able to make phone calls with Rogers sim card while in Morocco. There is no special sticker on the phone box mentioning any region lock. The phone is rooted.
My question is: Will I be able to use my canadian (Rogers) sim card in Canada ? Or is it possible that the phone could still be region locked? In this case using RegionLock Away could remove the lock ?
Model number: SM-N900
Baseband: N900XXUCMK1
Build Number: JSS15J.N900XXUCMK2
Phone is rooted
Thanks in advance

If your Rogers sim works in Morocco then it'll work in Canada, I'm Assuming it's using Roaming while in Morocco at least.

Thank you.

agree with @radicalisto, if your sim works there then it SHOULD work in your country as well... now just in case it doesnt work you dont have to worry, just flash one of the many region unlocked roms and you will be set..

Thank you

Usually there's a carrier splash screen on startup - but not always
Dial *#1234# in your dial pad and post the results here, will be able to tell you then.

Unfortunatly that code doesnt work with this phone, probably for the os version. Is there any other method?
PHN code is regional unbranded I believe. Your device isn't SIM Locked, it's Region Locked. - IF you're rooted, or wish to root you can try Chainrfire's RegionLockAway (you can find it here on XDA or on the Playstore)

Hey my friend,I've tried using chainfire. Everything goes fine, but when I insert a SIM Card it asks for a SIM Unlock Code. So its definitely SIM Locked.
without sim inserted go to apn settings and look if there is any apn, if so check the MNC code (mobile network carrier) and MCC (mobile country carrier).
If no apn is found try to restore apn settings.
Hope that helps ?
same problem with region lock

I'm having similar issues with my Note3 SM-900A, it is locked with AT&T running MJ5 baseband. I tried Chainfire's app but to no avail. Is there any way to SIM-unlock it?

There was a Galaxy Sim Lock or something similar app for this. I've used it some 2 yeaes ago. Of course, phone needs to be rooted. Search for the app. It will give you the unlock code.
Not sure if it will work on Note3 but I've used it in SGS2

I just used https://www.freeunlocks.com/?utm_expid=81009042-7.YdyEXMCfSES-sjI-qgps0w.0
it is free but you need to do a 'trialpay' thing.
I did the vistaprint business cards, just pay for delivery, needed some anyway
under £5 and I got 4 codes
phone is now unlocked

[Q] EUROPEAN S5 to ARGENTINA??

Can i use an european version of galaxy s5 in Argentina with a sim of a local carrier? i have got an european s5 (never used) and i would like to gift it to my brother that live in Argentina...
Thanks all.
Hi ebisco,
Samsung sometimes(often?) region lock their phone, which means if your phone is region locked then you would have to use it in Europe to region unlock it before using it with an Argentina SIM card, or pay for it to be region unlocked.

Downgrade to MJ1

Hello everyone.
I bought n9005 from UK and it has SIM lock or region lock
It has 4.3 ROM
Baseband MJ4
build MJ6
I was trying to use Chainfire's app to unlock region but it doesnt work.
It's said that the app works on Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (MI7, MJ1, MJ3 firmwares).
Here's the question.
What am I supposed to do in this situation?
Downgrade it to MI7/ MJ1/ MJ3 or upgrade to use this method http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-note-3-how-unlock-sim-free-1442071
On this ROM this code "*#197328640#" doesnt work.
Thanks in advance for help.

Almost certainly it has SIMlock or is blacklisted - check the IMEI with *#06# and if it does not match the one from under battery then you can most likely sell it for parts, if the IMEI is OK I think the safest way is to buy an unlock code.
What does mean that phone is blacklisted?
Software IMEI has 17 digits
Under the battery there is 15 digits.
The only difference is that there is no "/01" at the end.
