You do know that "secureboot" has nothing to do with unlocking the bootloader. Even the old s3 had secureboot enabled and still let you flash recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494037
Samsung’s secure boot feature only allows kernels with the company’s RSA-2048 digital signature to boot the device. So this just means we might be able to flash a kernel & if lucky a recovery but the bootloader is still locked.

I realize and know that. But there has to be some importance to it right? Like allowing to downgrade bootloader or something.

It means we could flash kernels & recovery. But the bootloader is still technically locked. Still, very good progress being made.

I could live with that. What more do we need haha. Flash custom kernel + Kn0xraid = Victory in my book.

Lol true, lets just hope he hooks us att users up.

Nothing ever stoppled you from flashing kernels, it stopped your from booting them, and it still does.
This bootloader was not exploited, and not unlocked.
Closing thread because I am tired of this drama.
Also, Adam posted someone else's picture, not his work and not his device.

Is this device can get carrier bootloader locked

I want to buy the phone from local carrier, but I wonder if the bootloader (Sony's vocabulary) can be locked, so I don't get the ROOT and ability to flash cm rom, custom kernel etc....

The bootloader comes locked, but a simple fastboot command will fix that. They're also supposed to all be carrier unlocked.

[Q] Bootloader

This must have been asked before in other threads, but just to get up to speed here ...
Do we know if the bootloader on the SPH-L720 can be flashed?
I know AT&T and Verizon haven't been cracked yet, but I'm hoping the Sprint model has.
Any details? Thanks!
-- Andy
The boot loader is cracked by default. No worries. With sprint you can crack flash until device blows up.
No
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
None of the bootloaders are cracked. We received a leak and sprint hasn't messed with us since. There is a big difference between cracked and leaked.

The Sprint GS4 has an unlocked bootloader. No leaks required. The fact that you can Odin a custom recovery and flash a rom right out of the box without even rooting should tell you everything you need to know.

So I can go ahead and get the L720 and do all the rooting and custom bootloading,
without having to worry if it's possible, like those Verizon folks?
This is awesome! I hope Josh is working on an S4 JellyBomb.

Bootloader

For the life of me I thought you could only install stock modified Roms until the boot loader was unlocked then you could install custom roms. But I see people installing custom Roms and the bootloader is still locked or am I missing something. Confused

It's the Loki that allows it.

Loki is what is used to help you root and basically let you bypass the boot loader so you can install the custom ROMS. It is probably a bit more technical than that but that is what it does in simple terms. You use this until the bootloader is actually unlocked.
I'm sure someone can chime in and give you a more technical answer. Research it.

Are you on TMo? Be patient. It will probably come. It is still early in the game.

is the g2 bootloader unlocked?

I want to switch from the s4. the main thing killing development there is the damn locked bootloader. does the g2 have the same problem or are all otas unlockable? (this would be for Verizon)

I can't speak for all variants of the G2, but as a Verizon user I can confirm that the bootloader is locked. With that said, there is an exploit to get around this. Check out the development section for more info.

ours is technically locked, but due to a workaround (that I don't really understand) it might as well not be. we flash roms, mods, radios, and kernals all with very few problems.

You sound just like me I was wondering the same thing before I got rid of my s4 but yes there is a way to get a custom recovery and flash custom ROMs unlike on the s4
Sent from my LG-VS980 using xda app-developers app
yes it is locked on every variant (bar sprint). But that does not matter for ROM's and recovery, as they are lokified. :victory:

If you see this while booting into stock recovery, that can be ignored as we don't use the stock recovery for anything other than ota.
If you see this during normal boot, you would have to Odin back to stock and start over.
Well I can't boot into recovery I get this all the time
