So It's been a few months with my G2 now and while I love it to bits, there's still no way to shut off any of the camera sounds and that's such an annoying problem for me. They seem to be baked into the camera APK itself. If anyone has an explanation how i could hunt down the sound files within the APK please help me out. Otherwise, is it possible to lift the camera from another variant of the G2 that does have the option to disable shutter sounds?
I love the quality and functionality of the stock app so really don't want to be using 3rd party ones to overcome this issue

Up until a few days ago, I was able to mute the camera shutter sound by putting the phone on silent. Now it doesn't work!
I haven't updated anything recently.
LG G2 D802 UK Three
4.4.2 kitkat
D80220d-234-20
Using stock LG camera app.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Recently purchased this phone(Boost).. Its nice.(For the price) The screen looks bigger than it actually is, and pretty quick.
One issue right off the the back. Cant turn off the shutter sound when taking photos!!!!!!. Is there a way this can be done? or will it need to be rooted?
Camera isnt that bad and the low-light feature is decent. I am use to the Note 3 camera and functions. However this will be a nice phone for a Pre Teen.. Any insight on this will be appreciated

From what I understand, you will need root to turn the camera shutter off if it already is not an option.
With other phones it was simply removing all of the sound files associated with the camera app.
It's a privacy thing, so that one cannot take any photos of another without their consent.
If I remember correct (can still be wrong), that was a primary result of the taking of photos of someone in a dressing room, mainly men of women.

So with the latest update, muting the shutter sound is supposed to be an option. Has anyone been able to mute the sound? I can't seem to find the option to turn it off despite sharp detailing this as a feature with the update.
Kind of hard to take snap shots of a sleeping baby (or anything when there is a sleeping baby) with such a loud camera shutter, lol.

After installing the latest update, just simply set your phone to silent or vibrate and that should mute the shutter while taking a picture.
Hi, when im trying to send some voice notes over Whatsapp it sounds terrible, I know that this is a common issue with the G2 so i'm trying to disable the 2nd mic to see what happen. I'm using Cloudy g3 2.0, but as far as I tried others it's not a Rom problem.
When I record using the built in record app everything is good, sounds clear, I tried using another apps that let me choose wich Mic to use (top mic or bottom mic) and it sounds good. I found in XDA some trick (here) editing the Build.prop but i think that thats only for Samsung.
It says that i have to edit from "media.a1026.enableA1026=1" to "media.a1026.enableA1026=0". but my lg g2 doesn't have that options.
Can someone help me out?
thanks!
Anyway to disable the second MIC for Whatsapp?
Ok so i bought my d802 a couple months ago, and everything is working fine except the audio while recording video. If i record anything quiet its alright, but if i record a concert or just me playing the guitar, the sound gets kinda really quiet and seems like it was really far away or underwater. This is really a big issue for me because i do a lot of covers and stuff. I had the exact same problem on my Nexus 4
I'm using a CloudyG3 2.2 ROM, but it was the same thing on stock unrooted.
Are there any tweaks/mods that can fix this issue? Thanks
Bump
So, i cant fix this?
The only way i found is app called XCam LG Settings. You can find it on Google Play.
Inside the app turn OFF Audio Noise Gate.
But it has two minuses:
1. Audio channels will be inverted (if you hold the phone normally i.e camera buttons from the right side)
2. Not free (2$).

Since i dont like the way Samsung updated slow motion in the camera in lollipop, is there already a working port from other roms? (No root). I believe the quality of slow motion has decreased in lollipop. Is anybody also experiencing this? Let me know.

Yep, they decreased it
In Kitkat, you had the oportunity to record in
1/2 Best Quality
1/4 Mid Quality
1/8 Poor Quality, true Slowmo camera
Now in Lollipop you're forced to record in 1/8 which is the poor quality and set the speed between 1/2-1/4-1/8 when you play it.
I will try the KK apk and see if it's working. Now I have other problems with the Lollipop Rom which I'm planning to fix (haptic feedback bugs)
Nice to know someone else is experiencing the same. Kind of strange noone else already opened a thread about it. Let me know if the KK apk works. Also, i cant understand that Samsung didnt used the full power of the camera (120fps/1080p).

Doesn't work. FC...
You can choose the 1/2 or 1/4 by selecting slow motion in the camera option. In that case, you may not be able to modify the video.

There's no slow motion option in camera settings. Samsung moved it to "MODE" in lollipop, and forced it to 1/8 (low res) which you can edit it to 1/2, 1/4 while playing the video.
Kitkat camera doesn't work. My guess is ART problem (SamsungCamera3.odex.art is missing).
