Very slow phone on 4.3 - Galaxy S III General

my galaxy sii GT-I9300 on 4.3 very slow and battery drains very fast my rom is as under should i revert to 4.2 or some other rom AP:I9300XXUGMJ9 cp:I9300BUUGMJ3 csc:I9300VFGGMJ5

Best rom questions are against the rules, otherwise we'd drown in them.
For best results on 4.3 do a full wipe, format internal sd card and flash a full rom. Test for a couple of days before you install/restore any apps.

Use the MK6 build or latest .. These r far better than MJ9

GL_Notecore
Couldn't be happier with my note now that I've got clean Note 2.0 on it. Battery life and stability of GB.
Now the developer has a custom kernel.... GL_Notecore v1. And if we're lucky, we might soon get another version with native CPU / GPU overclocked to 1600/440.
In his ROM thread, g.lewarne sometimes gives the impression that he is a bit of an amateur, tinkering with this stuff for the first time...
So I had a look back at some of g.lewarne's earlier posts... turns out, he's a bit of a guru to put it mildly. :good:
Goku, the latest beta.
It's stable, fast and battery life is great.

GL NOTECORE EXTREME version....ballistic, testing it over the next few days, so far Touchwiz never felt as fast
Latest Franco r6 kernel.
It's good, sometimes it crashes and restarts by itself.
This is especially annoying when you download a large file.
I'll wait for the next version to see if I'll stick with Franco or choose another kernel.
Cheers.
my kernel ic gl_notcore now and its amzing kernel
Im using GOKU since yesterday with stock ICS ROM,very stable and fast, the first picture is clocked at 1600 with Tegrak, the second one is normal.
As for the battery life I havent had the chance to put it on a thorough test yet, since I am planing to give the NoteCore Gl EX a try soon.

So if you could post your Score and which Custom Rom/Android Version your on, it would be great.

Scores, as I understand, will vary based in your various settings, like power saver, plus whatever else you may have running. Unless you set a specific baseline (using this rom, this kernel, these settings, only these apps, etc) comparisons are useless.
We know at the end of the day that right now the gn2 is going to hit near the top.

I'm looking for the fastest kernel + ROM combination

Hello guys, I'm looking for the fastest kernel+ROM combination for this phone (i9000). Would be awesome if it was with android 4.1.2 (at least)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
There is no fastest Rom and kernel. You have to find what suits for you.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Fastest? This is the fastest...
I use gamerzrom and im happy.
Depends on you really what apps are you running.

What version and with which one of the kernels?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
i do not like cm's overcharging that made my battery swell
also i find it not reliable as often i had missed calls (phone restarted or lost signal) while it waas untoched on the desk
Best rom+kernel is GamerzROM Legend Edition v3.0 (Android 4.2.2) with Semaphore Kernel 2.9.25s . PM me if you need a download link for the ROM.

AOSP Super Nexus ROM 2.0 BIULD 4 + Mackay Kernel 0.318 is the best and fastest combination for your I9000...I am using it right now and no problems so far with this kernel you get 396MB of RAM and purest and closest to stock Android ROM...That's all from me the choice is yours now...
Could you link it?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219235 - for the BEST ROM Super Nexus 2.0 BUILD 4
go to http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd and pick RC4 build or later. It'll probably not dissapoint. There's helly bean which I've been using before, but it hasn't been updated since 130426 I think, and it's really disappointing compared to cm 10.1 RC4.
Other than that, I guess the last cm9 is pretty good and cm7 but it's old now. If you decide to go with some kind of stock rom, particularily value pack. Try hardcore's last speedmod kernel for sgs. It's THE best kernel I've used with the phone regarding speed/stability.
It's a pity hardcore doesn't make cm kernels.
Personally
My selection: Fastest, stable, .... ¿but? battery eater: GamerzROM Legend Edition v3.0 (semaphore Updated). Promising one, with good battery live SuperNexus 2.0 - I9000 - Milestone 1. Battery live and goof performance: SAURON (GB). C-RoM Mix good other to try. And maybe you like Slim Bean. Test and decide..
For me Infamous AOKP with semaphore has been good
Thanks bro atm i'm trying the gamerzROM. Its quite good but as u said battery eater.. Ill try the rest later( there are still some game to test)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
are you aware that gamerzROM / SuperNexus / AOKP are all the same with few diff PNG's in few system apk's and all are still based on CYANOGEN ?
so best you can do is use CM latest nightlies (from it comes your beta rom versions) in combination with some kernel that You like
so none of those got better battery life or better perrformance - the only diff betwen them is the kernel.
remember CM is the base and then comes someone calling himelf a dev like faryab and copy pastes cm and aokp features,
depending on complication of that he might screw it or leave it ok as it was in CM or AOKP
then adds some kernel stolen from another devs and there you go a ROM
more features it incorporates (kernel) the worse - belive me ...
and stock 2.3.6 is still more stable lacks only jb look but thats i9000 for **** sake ...
i really like semaphore with slimbean
good for you, semaphore is good kernel maker and as for themes i like stock look
What's the difference between nightlies and simple cyanogen? Do you know? And u say then that i should simply take back my cm10.1 with semaphore?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
nightlies introduce new functions, bugfixes first but also might be unstable or even introduce faulty update packages leading to a softbrick (had such situations once)
normal are tested and marked as stable, daily use (bs)
And u sure that cm is compatible with semaphore? Or do u know any faster kernel for i9000?

Running ktoonsez kernel and it has been great. Battery life seems the same (this is going to depend on what governor you select and what OV/UV...I'm on ktoonservativeq) as stock kernel but much smoother and way more options. Have not tried agat63's yet but I'm sure it is solid as well.

Ktoonsez !!

faux123 003 kernel has gave me the best battery life so far.. ktoonsez kernel ran good also but i got better battery life with faux kernel.. but kernel run diff for everyone.. one kernel mite run perfect for one and not the other.. test a few and find one that works well with your phone
The best kernel is which ever one works best for you.
Everyone uses their phone differently and every phone has minute manufacturing differences which make the best kernel for me not the best kernel for you.
Try them all for a few days and you quickly find the one that is best for you.

which rom/kernel are most recommended?

the fastest and snapiest one. i am about to install wanam lite
Fast is cm 10.2 but still alpha, i like crash and Arrow rom with perseus kernel.

Most of the TW base ROMs are about the same. I've used Omega + persues from day one and got great battery life.. (6hrs+ screen time with like 30hrs standbye). Onto CM 10.2 now tho.
Also--- this should be moved to S4 General I believe.....

arrow is aosp themed, is very beautifil, until camera is fixed in cm 10.2 a'm using this.
I think you should try arrow rom or crash rom. They are great, smooth and the battery is great.
But i think wanam 1.8 has the battery best. I can use 2 days with 4 hour on screen. But wanam 1.8 is the old ver.

Bes rom/kernel threads are not allowed here on XDA, as they become grounds for subjective debates on people's opinion.
