Hi there,
Same issue on my GT-I9505 ..

Nope, it's normal. Depending on the game, the processor is working 100% when gaming. The device will get hot. Only workaround is to clock the processor down to a slower speed, I've had success using the no-frills cpu app off play store.

[Q] standby cpu-usage

Today i recognized that my battery-usage is horrible, when i turn of the screen while running a game. cpu-spy tells me a lot of games force 1,1 ghz all the time. Is that expected behaviour or is there some way around it rather then quitting the game every time? Think I had similar behaviour with camera app, but that seems to be solved.

Cpu speed depends on governor and cpu load. I assume that the cpu load is high during gaming and that forces top speed usage.

Well, sure the cpu-load is high while gaming, but it shouldn't be when the display is turned of, should it?
I now switched the gouvernour from conservative to boosted and first tests suggest that solved the problem. Will keep on watching.

Nexus 4 overheating issue

I know that overheating in nexus 4 is common problem, but today after installing custom ROM CyanogenMod 10.1 my phone has started overheating more quickly. Is anybody know any solution of it?

overheating i doubt, what was the cpu and battery temperature? just because it feels warm, doesnt mean its overheated. when it actually overheats, first the cpu will lower in cpu speed(safety), then if that doesnt help itll shutdown. is the weather around you warm btw?
+1 @simms22
Also, if it's really getting to warm your phone would run unstable.

Thanks for your replay, I still don't understand why my mobile has started getting warmer more quickly ever since I've installed custom rom. I've hardly played any graphics intensive game on it so far.
I don't know from where to know cpu and battery temperature. Do I need to install any application from playstore? Weather around here is warm. On average 35-40 degree temperature.
My phone CPU reaches 70˚C and battery 50˚C when driving in my car, charing with gps on a this time of the year(hot as hell here as well).
Everything seems to be find, didn't even turn itself yet so I doubt theres anything to worry about.
My gf forgot her phone in the car stand in the sun for a few hours, when she came back it wouldn't turn on until it was cooler so you can be sure your phone can take care of itself.
Maybe your governor was changed when you flashed the ROM, depending on the governor (like performance) your cpu clock speed may be increased more often then with the original governor.
You can check your governor with apps like no-frills cpu or setcpu and check the temperatures with cpu z

its easier to use an app for battery and cpu temp. being 35-40C around you, id expect the phone to be warm most of the time. anyways, after installing a custom rom your device spends a lot of time syncing stuff. so itll be a little warmer than normal. after about a full battery cycle it should stop, and will be a little cooler. also, a reboot after several hours after a rom flash should help a little too.
Ok, thanks for your quick response.

Phone gets HOT playing clash of clans

Ok, played this game on MULTIPLE Androids and even iPhones. The g2 is the only one I've noticed that gets extremely hot within like 5mins of gameplay. I have a temp widget and it goes from low 90deg to 115 + within 5mins of playing the game. When it does this the phone starts to get laggy and the screen gets very jittery and touch sensitive. Possible I have a lemon or anyone else have clash of clans can confirm? ?

I haven't measured an exact temperature, nor have I experienced the lag, etc. But I have noticed that my phone gets a bit hot after having this game open for a short time. I'm guessing it's just a resource intensive game, and since the g2 has the power available, it's taking advantage of it (running at high clock speeds, etc.) causing the phone to heat up some. Sorry I'm not much help, but at least you know you're not the only one out there seeing this.
Wrong Thread.
Try it on a LG Spectrum or Note2,3 if you want to feel hot... Have then all. My G2 stays cooler.
I made a profile in SetCPU for clash of clans so it only can run at 1,5GHz max, now it's not draining the battery that much and doesn't get as hot and strangely I don't see any lag or graphics issues, it's like coc doesn't need that much resource but using it anyway.

which app you used to customize CPU,and can you please tell me details step to do it.

Download SetCPU and set MHz Max to 1500.
Root access is required for the application to be functional.
i have this problem too and installed set cpu . it working well but when i switch from set cpu to any other app like whathsapp or Coc the max frequence automaticlly set to cpu max freguence . for honor it is 1300 . i tested tegra overclock . same result like set cpu . my phone is Honor 3C H30-U10 . sorry for my terrible english .
I have a Galaxy S 3 if I battle once it getting super hot n shuts off n I put a ice pack under it it worked but later found my phone cracked so ???HELP ME
Mediatek chipset based CPUs are overheating abnormally after few minutes playing coc, so i suggest not to play it if you don't want your motherboard to die! My CPU gets abt 80 Celsius playing coc 2 minutes, nothing else even heavy games not causing overheating like coc can do it

Core temprature

Hi as my point is my temperatures are really rising as I play sanandreas to 90°c is this hardware issue or battery problem as I had not changed the battery as far aa I know.. At now am using ressurection ROM 4.4.2 3.3-49kernel Perseus alpha 19 as my idle temperature is 51-55 is my idle temp normal? Or any hardware issue or battery problems?
Thats normal. When playing game, cpu will always run 1.2ghz-1.4ghz and sometime run 1.6ghz. U should undervoltage for overheat problem. Playing game reach to 80-82c (better than stock voltage settings). Now im using volt 15 (voltage settings in battery profile) and ale95 rom.

Wrong place mate. It's Development section. If you want to ask anything, then create a thread in Q&A section.
And regarding your problem, that's normal. Our chipset throttling more than another chipset while doing a heavy job. Also that's normal temp while idle.
Moreover, you're using AOSP ROM. This ROM made device work hardly for performance compared to TouchWiz.

Note 4 Snapdragon - Which ROM or Kernel doesn't not overheat when playing games?

Hi All,
I mainly play COC and Clash Royale and notice the phone overheat up to 70-80 Celsius. Sometimes its so hot, you feel your face burn when answer phone calls. Any ideas which ROM doesn't heat up this much? or its normal for Note 4 to be this hot during games?
Device: N910C
Current rom: Dr. Ketan M6
Kernel: Emotion R26

It's normal issue with all the note 4 because of 1440p 2k qhd screen.
You can try any note 7 rom and turn down screen resolution to 1080p orr 720p and use custom kernel turn down cpu max frequency from 2.7ghz to 1.9ghz and minimum frequency to 300mhz
This will probably keep your phone cool when playing games.
you also have to turn down graphics from max to medium or low in game options you are playing.

I also play Clash Royale, but I have to put the governor in Performance because if not the game goes with stuttering. With Gametuner I lower the resolution to 30% but the cell phone also heats up a lot. I have not tried in the stock rom to compare. I use ManuPro AstraRom
