I did some search, but could not find a thread. Please forgive me if I missed something.
I got a MK2 S4 recently, rooted it use saferoot. Then enabled tethering. But today I somehow read a thread about "nobloat free". So I installed it, disabled some apps like "ATT navigator" etc. I guess, I disabled something I should not. So when I reboot the phone, I got a unlock icon (the initial B/W screen) and "custom" under it. Then it would stuck on ATT logo.
I entered recovery mode, did factory reset, it still shows "custom", but finally, it start to initialize the phone. I could setup items such as language, wifi, google acct etc. But eventually it would say failed to initialize the phone. The short press of home button won't work, I could not get the home page with widgets. But I can pull down the info page, enter settings from there. I can receive the phone call, can change some settings there, long press for multi-tasking works, but that's it.
I tried Kies, but it says I am running a custom firmware and I cannot initialize and reinstall firmware from there.
If I can launch noBloat Free, then I can enable those I disabled...
[update]
Hi, Thanks for replies! I did managed to go to google search, searched play store from there, then installed "noBloat Free" and enabled those I disabled before. Then rebooted. It works fine now. Thanks a lot!
Please help and thank you.
Download Android Commander. Entering the settings from the pull down, enable developer mode by going to about phone and tapping on build a couple times. Enable debugging. Then go to security and enable unknown sources. Get the apk for the app you need, connect your phone to your pc and install the app to your phone using Android Commander.
Otherwise I guess you could just re-flash the stock rom?
Only way to get back to stock mk2 is using this guide posted by gtj0

I have Bell's Galaxy S only unlocked but no any patch installed on it. I updated to JH2 because I wanted to have the 3 buttons recovery just in case. But after the update some apps opens and close right after. Also gmail downloads emails, but when I try to read it it brings me back to the list of all emails. I did do recovery mode, but no luck. Samsung customer supports sends for repair. I do not want to be for 3 weeks with no phone. Any help will be deeply appreciated.
try clearing the cache
you might have some conflicting settings left from the previous ROM
you can either boot into recovery mode with the 3 buttons combo
or you can download this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8187376&postcount=63
and it will clean it for you
I did try the recovery mode with the 3 buttons menu options but no luck with it. It is the same ofter a recovery. The cacheclener is only for rooted phones, and mine is not rooted. Do you think there is something elese left to explorer?
Thanks
Any help about this priblem?

why not root the phone?
it's safe to root the phone
I rooted the phone and installed cachecleaner from market and ran it. Still the same problem. Even when I try to opne AppBrain it closes right after. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks a lot.
I tried factory format and reset with this codes *2767*3855# and it is the same.
the next best thing to try is to go into the Recovery Mode, and select the option to Wipe Data
see if it works properly after a flesh start.
Already done.....same problem. I guess I am running out of options. Is there a way to reinstall JH2?
Whenever I boot it up it says "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.". It does allow me to hit ok, however when I hit ok I have about 1 second before it pops up again. Due to the passcode lock on my phone I am unable to get past the lockscreen as it wipes the input box everytime the popup box pops up. Despite the System UI apparently failing everything does seem to be functional behind the pop up. In the 1 second periods between pop ups I am able to interact with it. The status bar and the buttons on the bottom are not visible, however the rest of the lockscreen (including widgets) is.
The phone is rooted, however I had not gotten around to installing a custom bootloader yet. Debugging is enabled, however the device is listed as "offline" according to "adb devices". Due to this I am unable to install TWRP so as to flash the zip to disable xposed.
All of the above is still true in safe mode, the exact same thing happens.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I would prefer to keep the data on it, however if nothing else a factory reset would be fine.
Update: Solution was to do this. The offending xposed module was xhalofloatingwindow. I have managed to reproduce the error multiple times, so it would appear that xhalofloatingwindow is incompatible with the LG G2 (AT&T) on 4.2.2.
It is only the latest version that is incompatible. Uninstall Beta 2.16 and install 2.14 then it will work. Came across your post as I was searching in tapatalk for the official thread to report this in. Hope it helps.

Hi sorry for posting the wrong section if I did.
Oj so I rooted the MetroPCS LG Leon and then restarted , got the LG set up screen I cannot finish the set up because I get those stupid unfortunately Google play services stop working errors and it keeps me on the setup screen.
I was able to accesss the accessibility settings and click on one of the website links and get on the web I downloaded the same app that allows me to enable and disable stuff so I disabled the LG setup Wizard and I'm able to use my phone but of course with tons of errors I I tried to reenable all Google services I tried to reinstall them I hard reset many Times I can't see my notification bar like text messages or my Wi-Fi signal being on I was able to enable USB debugging but when I plug into the computer it does not give me the options menu : charge only or in PTP or whatever i can't even see the files in my phone
when I try to fix certain settings it's says I need tor complete the wizard
so I'm asking how to get around this or how can I reinstall the whole thing back to stock softwareor to stop all these error ...even if I have to have Google play back
Please thanks
Hi,
I'm not sure why your problem occurred and if you still have it, but if you want to reinstall your system and return to stock, you want to flash appropriate firmware.
You can find firmware matching your device here. Just type your IMEI and latest firmware will appear. Download it and follow steps on how to flash .kdz file with LG Flash Tool in this guide.
I had the same problem, but restarting fixed it. If that doesn't help, reboot to safe mode and then back.
I'm not sure what happened, but my Google Keyboard seems to have disappeared. Google Keyboard is not showing as an option under "Keyboard & input methods". I have Flesky and Swiftkey, so I'm getting by, but I don't know how to get it working. Gboard shows under Apps, and I've tried clearing cache, clearing data, force stop, and uninstall/reinstall, but it still doesn't appear as an option to use as a keyboard. How can I rectify this? Thanks in advance to anyone who has a solution.

Google keyboard is replaced by Gboard but I think you already knew that. Also if you are on a custom ROM flash Gapps again. Gboard will appear on input options. If not maybe you have factory reset or wait for the app to be updated again .
PS did you reboot after clearing cache?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not rooted and therefore don't have a custom ROM, just the one that came with the device, so therefore I can't really flash anything. I went into recovery mode and did a cache wipe there, which, of course, requires reboot, to no avail. I'll wait to see if an update comes out soon and will live with 3rd party keyboards in the meantime. For what it's worth, I've included screen shots showing that Gboard is showing as an app but is not showing as an available keyboard. When I click "Current Keyboard", my only options are Flesky and Swiftkey.
The reply is appreciated.

Update: I finally got Gboard back. I tried a number of things, including a manual download and install of the apk. I decided to try Slash keyboard, and, when I installed it, I was taken to the screen to enable it, and, voila', Gboard shows up with an enable option. I don't know what happened, but it's working now.

Actually, in your second screenshot, if you tap on "Current Keyboard" there will be a button to choose keyboard. If you press that, it will bring you to the screen where you can enable/disable keyboards. That's probably why Gboard was hidden.

Yep. Not intuitive to me, but you're correct. I thought "Current Keyboard" was just a prompt to select one from the pop-up window. Often the answers are simple if you know where to look. Thanks! :good:

No worries! They changed the menu structure in Nougat so it's more intuitive now.
Probably off topic but does anyone else not like the update they did to the keyboard? No way to remove that search menu row? I have never used the suggestions and wished I could remove it.

Go to input > virtual > Gboard > settings > search and disable it.
It removes the search G but still keeps the row there. See attachment.

Hey everyone.
Lastnight I installed, an android 7.0 custom rom to my tab pro 10.1. I used TWRP to flash install the ROM when it installed it automatically rebooted my device before I could go on to Gapps and install them with the the ROM. So when the ROM loaded up I connected to my hub (using the keyboards) then had a look at the new OS and the wife had a look out of interest with me and everything was working well in fact it was quicker than it was when we got it brand new.
Then playtime over rebooted back into TWRP and flashed Gapps. Then it rebooted again. When it finally loaded back in I was met with a loading screen saying Android is Starting which wouldn't go away but it asked me to sign back on to the Hub so went to do this on problem was.....no Keyboard.....so I managed to get into my setting through quick menu settings and find input settings and there is no keyboard installed to the device...it asked me to add one but I can't because I can't type and even if I could the android is starting message is still going.
Please help I am new to this and I want to learn all this type of thing but I am completely puzzled on what to do. I tried clear chase and data and even tried factory reset.....tried installing gapps on twice (before the factory reset) and nothing was working.
I am tough to use odin to flash it back to standard rom and start again but I could do with some pointers with what i have done wrong.
Thanks people

You may wish to ask over in the Galaxy Tab Pro forums at https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-pro-12-10-8 - you've somehow wandered into the Moto G4 forums
But as a very general suggestion - sounds like your GApps isn't happy with your custom ROM. You may have to clean flash your custom ROM again and verify that the GApps you're flashing is suitable for your device/custom ROM.
I agree with you I have just download the same rom and a stock gapps and I had the same message and again with no keyboard.....agian. Difference this time I haven't rushed to do a factory reset and gone back and reflashed the android 7.0 rom and I am back working again with keyboard but no google apps.
Is there a way of installing them a different way, only 2 google apps I use is play store and gmail. I have tried installing a google play store and play services apk but doesn't work. It goes to load and then just stops.....feels like I need a list of apps to get them going.
Hope someone can help
I worked out my problem with Gapps, "android is starting messages" and no keyboard.
1. I needed to wipe my cache, data and davarlik (whatever it says....looks like darlik to me...lol) before and after.
2. Like fella before said my ROM didn't like the Gapps package I had downloaded, so everytime I had the android message I went back on to TWRP and restored back to the orginal point where the lineage ROM worked, then went back on to the net and installed the next Gapps package and repeated till I found a package that worked......that package was the "Micro" package.
Any google apps I was missing I simply just downloaded them via the playstore after.
I realise this is a moto G forum but I find that sometimes you need to go other places to find answers and I had originally looked in the samsung Tab Pro 10.1 forum section and couldn't find anything similar to my problem this fella at the beginning of the thread was the closest to my problem I could fine.
Hope this helps
Hello,
I am on stock 6.0.1 locked bootloader. Yesterday suddenly my software got partially corrupted. It boots fine but the status bar and on screen controls like menu button are not working. Also, clicking on build number isn't doing anything. An ota was available and I updated it but still its in the same state. Fast boot mode is accessible. I am using xt1562. Is there any way by which I can flash a full stock/custom firmware with/without rooting/unlocking my phone? I tried to download the stock recovery from github/filefactory but it keeps on getting canceled after 200mb or so. Can someone please guide me or provide me a resumeable link to 107.70 firmware? TIA

You should be albe to flash original firmware with locked bootloader, the best option is to flash exactly the same one you've currently got on your phone.
However, I'd start from installing Activity Launcher (download from playstore) and launching com.google.android.setupwizard.SetupWizardTestActivity. It looks like yor phone is in setup mode for some reason, just like it is when you boot it for the very first time. This activity will take you through the Setup Wizard, hopefully something "clicks" in your system when you finish it and your home button functions, etc. will be restored. If this doesn't work I'd try factory reset before flashing firmware.

I have 107-70-1 but cant seem to be able to find it? The other one is not a resumeable link and downloads break in between. I will try the activity launcher and let you know. I already tried factory reset from setting and facroty mode from fastbook but it did not work.
Edit: The activity Launcher thing worked! Thanks!

First of all when you have the opportunity quickly go to the developer mode and check OEM unlock. Then you use fastboot to flash stuff and get things correct
there is also usb debbuging app on playstore to access from there..

AFAIK you can't do it in setup mode, even with an app, because ADB access is blocked on system settings level.
ooooh yes sorry.mine was booting normally..

You were right, it was in setup mode. I was unable to install apps over the Google Play Store so I downloaded the apk of Activity Launcher, enabled "unknown sources" and installed it. I opened the activity you wrote but I got an error, so I opened the com.google.android.setupwizard.SetupExit (not sure if it was the exact name) and it was all normal again.
