[Q] Battery LG G2 CM vs STOCK - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone! Ya!
I flashed CM 11 kitkat on my G2 but i decided to return to stock because the battery drain faster than stock ROM, someone know why?
I tried to use the phone with the same settings.
So, I didn't play games, the phone was all the time in wifi, no data connection, took some photos, surfing on internet, the screen brightness was around at 0 - 30 %.
I think thats all.
PS: The language in the screenshot is italian couse I'm italian.

It is normal for CM Roms to use more power. It has always been like that. Not optimized I guess..

Ok, I think is called GRAM, no ZRAM, but anyway. I thought Vanilla android doesn't required a lot of power to work, and now with 4.4 it's optimized for devices with i guess 512 MB ram.
And probably GRAM doesn't work yet on CM. But I dont know

Most probably they will not! GRAM is a proprietary feature of LG and most probably it is a black box just like the IR transmitter. Let's hope I'm wrong but...

I have a better battery life with CM 11. With stock rom i made 5 hours of screen on but with CM i make 6 o 7 hours. I am very satisfied of this rom

You can't do much if nothing other than wifi and network works.
I've tried it, just did a nandroid, flashed it like a normal ROM, and restored the backup half an hour later. Heres the full thread if you are interested;

Is the l7 worth it?

Hey all,
I have a quick question here & hope to get answers (please )
Here's the deal, I want to buy mom the l7 and would like to know if it's like enough for texting, calling, browsing the Web, the basics..?
I know some people with l7 and it's laggy like hell, it takes years to unlock the screen, but I believe in PEBKAC, so I thought maybe they messed it up.

Hello,
In my opinion is enough.I have P700(l7),and after i change it room(cyanogen 10) whit a couple of tweaks is a beter phone. But is my opinion.I have now a faster phone for browsing, facebook and games.
HI.
It's a terrible device.
Lag lag lag lag la- you get it.
I can recommend a phone for you.
But I live in New Zealand, if you could get me the price for the l7 in USD, and I will guarantee to find the best phone.
Don't look at my rank, I had an old account which I can't log into, which was a really high rank.

No,, i don't have random reboots(last cyanmode from here : http://get.cm/?device=p700&type=nightly ), is a good phone ,but with cyanmod or other modified room.Stock Lg room is worse room ever and have lag because use a lot of RAM memory.Sorry for my bad english!

I agree with you!!:good:
It's a pretty neat phone when you upgrade it to JellyBean. Just a few lags, overall pretty smooth! Totally worth it for basic use, although I wouldn't recommend for extreme gaming and heavy use.
Now i installed avatar rom from a polish site.Look very well and smoot.I al so instaled a few tkeaks(crossbreader and ac!d sound).

For for texting, calling, browsing the Web and if by "the basics" you don't mean Facebook or Gmaps (which are memory hogs) then I recommend the L7. But NOT with stock rom, I use Cyanogen nighlty, Gandalf kernel and 4cyl turbo and I'm quite happy with the performance.

Screen viewing angle is bad. You can see it only at 90 degrees, and if you are inside. Outside even on cloudy weather you cant see goddamn thing on it. Google for l7 reviews. Also battery drains too quickly even on standy. Its little better if you turn off wifi during inactivity. Best is if you put your phone in airplane mode. I think thats due some modem/baseband problems on some networks. I use european open rom on T-mobile, maybe on some other networks battery performs better...
did I mention non-existing oleophobic screen coating?
1. Very good thing about l7... LAUNCHER IS AWESOME.. i newer saw such swift and fluid launcher like this LGUI 3.0.

I got it and Im pretty happy with it, if you flash CM10, V2.1.1 kernel, turn on things in performance and phone does work with almost no laggs in games, launcher or everything.
Screen is pretty screwed because of angle and brightness, but its okay.
Battery drain issue can be fixed by buying better battery via eBay like this:

i do know it, i have been investigating about it without much success.
Mainly i can make it dissapear for half day if i use WIFI, once wifi is enabled the wake lock dissapears when i stop using wifi or do an experiment with it.
but somehow the error comes back once in a while, after a reboot, or after charging it.
no kernel fix it, no Rom fix it, im putting my hopes on CM

there are pre-rooted stock roms which are not supposed to increase the flash counter.
And i confirmed it, i toggled FD and the wakelockappeared, changed roms and tried that again, and the WL dissapeared.
But still my battery life sucks though, getting a honami when its out.

honami is the code name for the i1(naming confirmation pending from sony, will be disclosed at IFA or so we hope).
after A LOT of hate which went throught the phone, i updated the arrow rom to 5.1, deactivated FD, and nothing,i was getting 10% in 3 hours, for some reason i dont remember i rebooted the phone, and the darn phone still have the same charge from yesterday te phone have 24 hours of uptime (taking in account i have done some serious undervolt to the phone). i was getting about an hour per % an a half with hangouts and whatsapp freezed and in NO use or just checking the bat.
Not bad but too much work to have a "regulary updated" phone to work properly.
now i dont even know what will happen when i recharge the phone again what kind of behaivor will have this darn non-optimized phone I'll be reporting what happens.

I tried to restart it several times before to see if it is there on mine but I never saw it happening...
As for the camera, I haven't had any problem with the camera. I've taken several shots and it never disappoint me...

I recently got the battery bug. My phone crashed then when it rebooted, the battery % gained 21%. Problem is, my phone now drops from 28% to 3% instantly. It disappeared for a while but comes back once in a while.

M preview radio on Verizon better than 5.1 radio for me

There was a spot in my work building where text messages would get a -1 not sent error. With the m radio it works every time.
Flashed it last night. And it works better in my house than before.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Agreed. Same experience here, in low reception area in a box canyon in Oregon. Had 0 bars of service in house with VZW 5.1 radio; flashed M radio, and have 0.5-1 bars of 3G/LTE service now.
Keep those radio optimizations coming, Motorola!
So you guys are running 5.1.1 but with the M preview radios? I just got my N6 a week ago and the signal and battery life are terrible compared to my G3. Looking for solutions before giving up and sending this back to Motorola.

How did you guys get the m radio to work.. I tried flashing the one from that link and it said unknown under my baseband and had no service... I had to go back to 98
I'm on Verizon and flashed that m radio zip
I'm on the m bootloader as well. I tried the preview and skipped the bootloader and radio flash when I went bact to chroma. HD calling works fine as well

I am running the M preview and I find that the radio works a lot better than the 5.1 radio
I flashed the M radio earlier today and so far I see a marked improvement. I'm no longer randomly losing my signal completely while at home. I also flashed a custom kernel and tweaked the color settings, so my screen looks much better as well. Let's hope my battery life improves as well. The need to charge in the middle of the day is quite annoying.

I downloaded Lean Kernel then an app to tweak the settings called Kernel Adiutor (the unusual spelling is on purpose). But any kernel adjusting app of your choice should work. Then I followed the info found in this post.
