Paranoid Android features - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i installed first time paranoid 4 on my phone and i can't find any options, settings, customizations... Only standard kitkat's settings. It's normal? I havent halo icon in status bar too. Should I install something additional?

Read the Pa thread's op... , always read op before flashing

I'm still don't understand. There arent features because it is beta? I didnt flash kernel, it is important?

No need for kernel. No PA features beta.

[Q] Edit Nav Bar Icons?

On my Galaxy Nexus in the CM10 rom you could add buttons to the nav bar, the most useful for me was a menu button, which made four buttons along the bottom.
Is there anything I can do with my Nexus 4 that'll let me keep a permanent menu button in the nav bar? An app or something I can flash?
Thanks
flash a custom rom such as cm10.1

jellybro http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015081 flash it over cm10.1 no wipe.
Don't think it's implemented into cm10 yet

It is if you use Jellybro. It's been in there for a long time now. It's the same thing as CM10.1 but with cherry picks.
Does it have nightly updates ? And updatable through settings menu ?

1. Yes it has nightly updates. It is compiled based on when there are 'significant' changes. Fitsnugly compiled it on a daily basis. Gearhead does his own thing, I don't mind.
2. Updateable thru settings. No.
It's in Romans AOKP, totally configurable navigation bar buttons

I would also suggest you should have a look at AOKP, very configurable ROM with great support.

Does anyone have a 4.3 custom rom that does not freezes?

Im using PSX rom. while it is a great rom 95% of the time, the other 5% of the time it freezes(well, maybe less, but every time it does it super annoying). The developer of the rom says that this is a common problem of the 4.3 builds. that sounds a little strange to me. While Im probably didnt understand him right, I still see that the latest version of PSX freezes sometimes. so after 4-5 month with that rom, I think it is time to move on. Could you please state which rom you are using, whether or not it freezes, what are its pros and cons, and your final recomandation?
Thanks!!
Cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly running smoothly here. No freezing at all

Stock ROM, Xposed module, Gravity Box. Let's you configure 95% of the stuff a custom ROM does.

I don't have any freezing issues. There are cases where I install incompatible kernel and it cause the phone to reboot, but is solved by using the stock kernel that come with that rom.
Get PA rom. You won't be disappointed.

which unofficial cm11?

There are some cm11 daily builds for our devices. Which one do you recommend to use? Thanks.
İ think you dont use cm11.. İ suggest psx rom.. Fast, smooth ve stable.. You should try it..you will like it

I second this question. I've seen around 5 unofficial CM11 builds. Of those, which one is good?
Side question, so far, which 4.4 ROM works the best?

İ am using psx kitkat rom.. While i using 4.3 i was using. My favourite is psx rom.. Exactly you should install and live speed

the "what is best" topics aren't really allowed on this forum.
OP is asking about CyanogenMod, not PSX.
You should use Euroskank, it's the next closest to official ÇyanogenMod.

Most of them are going to be nearly identical unless the builder has added their own changes. I personally use these, just make sure you choose the ones tagged 4.4, as the poster also does 4.3 and 4.2 builds on a nightly basis.
I'd recommend building your own, if you're capable.
I normally flash whichever one is the most recently compiled. Got to have the latest version right? On the odexed version by Bruce and i think it's the best performer bit i always like euroskank. Always had features before they are merged

Missing Paranoid settings.

Hello there, I'm new to this forum and I want to start by saying that I was able to root and install my first customer ROM thanks to you.
That being said, everything seems to be in order except that I don't see Paranoid Settings.
I'm running the following:
Device: Nexus 7 2013
Recovery: TWRP
ROM: pa_flo-4.2-BETA4-20140408
This is a snapshot of my settings menu.
If I'm missing any information or posted in the wrong place, please excuse me.

Yep, PA hasn't implemented them yet, it's normal I think

This gets asked daily in their dedicated thread
(spoiler alert: kit Kat killed a lot of them)
If you want customization then I'd use Xposed Framework with the GravityBox module but if you're looking for the signature PA per-app dpi and tablet/phablet modes then unfortunately they aren't included with the KK ROMs
Thank you guys for the responses.

What do you mean with KitKat killed a lot of them, do you mean features?
And which one is the dedicated thread, I've seen plenty of them?
Thanks for the help.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
KitKat didn't kill the features, PA killed the features because they decided to start from scratch and build their ROMs in a different way.
