I've installed CM7.2 and then flashed the 20110828 CM7.2 gapps. When I try to setup my Google account, it always tells me the password and user name don't match. I'm definitely using the right user/password though.
I've tried this with CM7.2 and MiRage. I've tried installing the ROM first, booting, setting up WiFi, making sure the date/time are right, then going back to CWM and flashing gapps... I've tried flash both at the same time... I'm clearing system, data, cache, dalvik, when I start over.
At a loss here... had this working a while back, upgraded to CM10, now trying to go back. I swear I'd recall dealing with this 2 years ago when I first installed CM7, but can't remember a fix. Any help is appreciated!

So, I decided to do a full wipe (minus sd) and re-install a fresh copy of CM7 7.1.0 on my Nex S. Anyways, I went into CWM, did cache wipe, factory wipe, and dalvik, wiped /data manually for good measure, and went thru installing the ROM, then my custom kernel (TEUV morfic), and then the latest gapps.
Upon boot, I notice the following things:
1. The welcome screen never comes up! It just goes to the desktop/home screen.
2. The market is gone! I've never had this happen, but it's just not there anymore
3. I can't add Google accounts like I normally do. It only allows me to add Exchange accounts.
What am I missing here?!? This is driving me nuts. I've tried reinstalling, rewiping, reflashing, re-EVERYTHING to no avail. I don't understand WTF is up with this.
You forgot to flash the latest gapps.
http://goo-inside.me/gapps
Note. You may have flashed the one that is labeled new-talk at the end. This is not the full gapps. You flash that file alongside the gapps with the same date.

Hi all
I've just switched to ICS from the rom uploaded by kwiboo.
everything seems fine except that i can't configure my Google account.
when i try to add an account, i can't see Google account. if i try to add it as a corporate, i always get a message saying "unfortunately, exchange server stopped"
any one faced the same problem ?

Sounds like you've got a bad zip download or flash. Try wiping system, boot, data, cache and re-flash. Post this stuff in Kwiboo's thread for support.
hmm hey ask around the glaxy nexus people might just be a ICCS bug too
ICS wifi issue
Google account works fine with me, 3G is a bit unstable though.
Been flashin all the ICS betas prepared by drew and on none of them my wifi worked.
Flashed newly published AOSP ICS rom but wifi still refuses to work
It doesn't seem to find any of the networks around me. Any suggestions how to correct that?
Also, i've noticed that battery drain is huge with this rom. 12% off in just 23 minutes.
it happened to me too, when i tried my luck flashing ICS on top of CM7 nightly without wiping data.
it works ok when wiping like we should tho
Wipe it! Should work afterward
Thank you all
I wiped the cache first but it didn't work.
then I wiped the whole thing. It's working now.
thanks again.

Hey friends,
I flashed to CM7.2 today from CM7.1 on my Motorola Defy and everything went fine. I used the stable release, and the latest relevant gapp-ics file.
After reboot was over, I tried to access Google Play, it asked me for my user and started loading. After a few seconds it crashed and ever since I'm getting a server error message and right afterwards it crashes saying "process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly".
Means I cannot connect with my google account and can't install any apps at the moment.
I tried reinstalling the mod again; reinstalling the gapp file; using an older gapp-ics file; clearing cache and date; rebooting; clearing malvik cache and what not!
Now I noticed that google search is crashing as well.
Any ideas anyone?
* I searched for a similar thread for quite a while, all ideas were unsuccessful.
Many thanks!

A very simple solution - flash GB gapps. You flashed ICS (CM9) gapps. Gingerbread is CM7.2/7.1.

have you tried to install a gb ggaps? cm7 is a gb not ics
There are some possible ways:
(1) Remove data of Google Play&Google Services Framework and after this, you may get stuck in launching Google Play(Server Error) and reboot and retry
(2) Launch GTalk first and launch Google Play
(3) If they don't work, reboot recovery and wipe DATA

Phone Defy mb525
For give me in advance if i use the wrong technical terms but i am an oldie nooby
i spent a couple of days trying to install cm10 onto my phone unsuccesfully . i solved all the problems ( i thought i had bricked it a couple of times but it would not work .
So i read a thread that starting at at froyoand flashing to cm7. it all seemed to work except when i was doing the clear cache parts before i flashed cm7 and goo. gaps-gb-20110828 it didn't seem to clear anything. II soldiered on and it all seemed to work except market . i have been back to the bootloader android bootmenu v1.2.0 , not sure what to do next??
stan
When I try to login with my google account e.g. in play store it tells me, it has problems connecting with the google servers and that I should try again later. This is happening since 3 days.
I have installed CM11 after CM10 did suddenly not boot anymore. I tried several version, now I have version 20140223. I also tried several versions of gapps, with some it did not even show me the log in screen, they just closed. With 2-11_GApps_Core/Standard_4.4.2_signed it shows me the login scren and after entering my details the above error. The Connection to the internet is working and using a browser on the phone I can also login to google. I often made several wipes inclusing system and reinstalling CM
Right now I don't even get my contacts back on the phone, because of that.
Additionally it tells me after some time that an problem with the modem occured and that it needs to reboot.
What can I do? I search for several hours in the internet and did not find anything which fixes the problem.
Edit:
On CM10 I could already not connect to the play store anymore, but at least my address book was synchronized with google.
Use only core gapps. After flashing CM11, don't flash gapps, reboot, go to system and then reboot to flash gapps.

Thank you, it worked!
What I did:
Reboot, wipe the 3 standard things, wipe system, install CM11, NO wipe, reboot to system, reboot to recovery, install gapps without any wipe, reboot.
Hey guys.
Phone is CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4) and Paranoid Android (Android 4.4)
What happened:
Phone crashed (screen became full of colors and phone restarted). After reboot everything on the phone was gone - GApps, all my apps, save a few of like a 100. Basically a fresh CM install without GApps.
What I did was flash GApps (correct package). Everything worked fine until I've tried to install an app. Phone immediately rebooted.
I've tried wiping everything, doing factory resets, installing older CM builds, now I've even installed Paranoid Android ROM. Still the same problem persist:
If I try to install any app from Play Store or just from an apk with I file manager - phone immediately reboots. The only way I can now use it is by disabling Play Store so it doesn't start to update something
Has anyone ever encountered this?
Is this the right forum to ask?

Maybe you just need to flash gapps right after the rom. I flashed cm without gapps once and when i booted back into recovery to flash gapps my phone crashed.
Doing them one after the other is the way to go.

Thanks for suggestion, I've tried that several times, didn't help...
I had the opposite after a crash on a nexus 4 over a year ago.. phone would reboot unistalling any app wether by play store or settings/apps.
after trying everything for most of a day, the only thing that fixed it was formatting the data partition.. not wiping, there's a format data option in twrp
