So I flashed a 4.2.2 ROM, the camera app was bad, (kept rebooting) So I wiped system, flashed again, and the rom (MadhiRom to be exact) worked perfectly. Now, I have no sound at all :/ Any help?
have you tried redoing a clean flash? if so what sound is broken ie just the speakers or the mic or you just cant hear music

Hi guys,
so afew days ago my pc seemed to just turn off randomly as my phone was charging from it.. my pc still worked ok after some quick tinkering but my phone would no longer boot into the old modaco desire rom i had installed.
I figured it was a good time to find a froyo ROM instead and so i decided to get the eViL NXSense ROM. Last time it was much more easy for me to install since i had just unlocked and it all went smoothly, this time i put the ROM on my phone and tried to flash it and it just doesnt load, it sits on the 4 colored lines :\.
Can some1 help me and guide me how to install this and get it working, i really need my phone up n running.
Thanks in advance.

i dunno. Ive only flashed cyan stuff. Are u running 2.2 or 2.1? Maybe u need to upgrade ur radio? Did you wipe?
+1. Did you wipe?

what problem are you facing? which recovery are you using?
Ok, i did wipe 1st, im using an old recovery which i used when i 1st flashed my old modaco ROM, cant remember what its called but it was up-to-date then.
I discovered i have more problems though. My PC doesnt seem to regocnize my phone, i can move files around using the fastboot fine, but activesync and such doesnt regocnize my phone :\.
How can i fix this since i guess this needs fixing before i can do much else?
:S sorry im a total noob at this rly feel kinda in the deep end.
Hmm.. I am sorry. I don't have any idea about that syncing problem. I hope other member may help you with that.. I am noob too..
Personally, i would start off dealing with the computer issues.
Find a program *win version* called usbdeview. UNINSTALL all drivers related too your phone.
Make sure you have at least the SDK/Tools folder.
Reboot your system.
Connect your phone and reinstall the drivers.
Activesync??? Ummm what's that needed for?? i used too use that app for Motorola phones.
Make sure you have at least the SDK/Tools folder.

When you install the android Software Development Kit (SDK), it should create a folder inside of it that is called "Tools".
For me, it is at C:/android-sdk/Tools. This is the folder that contains the magical fastboot and adb tools that you need to do anything devious with an android device.
Ok, then it seems i don't have it at all.. did a full search and cant find it.. i did format my pc around 3 months ago and dont think i ever really installed anything for my phone since i saw no need for it.
I've downloaded it now from the android website . All unzipped and ready to use.
Hi guys,
first sorry for my bad english.
I have a big problem to face with my N1
I wish to install a custom ROM, so I've rooted my phone and downloaded the Rom Manager apps from Market. I've flashed the clockwork recovery and downloaded the cyanogenmod. So I reboot my phone in fastboot mode, select recovery and now I have a black screen, nothing happens. My phone boot only when I take off the battery, so now I have no Recovery mode in my phone. Someone can help me please ?
My N1 is in FRF91 build, with a Vodafone ROM from France (SFR)
EDIT : I've already tryed to flash the original recovery and AmonRA recovery (1.7.0 and 1.8.0) from my PC but it fails everytime and I have this message => FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
You've opened a new post on this, also...

Ok, so a quick update/ask for more help. Thanks for the advice so far, it has all worked, i uninstalled all drivers, restarted, plugged in my phone and reinstalled the fastboot so now my pc is recognizing my phone at least.. i have the SDK/Tools ready for when i need them. I don't know whats next though, must i flash a new recovery image? if so where can i get this? Or must i 1st update to froyo?
As long as you have root why don't you download rom manager from the market place and use that to flash new roms? It'll update your recovery if needed. It is a well rounded, worth while app.

Update:
I used amon_ra's recovery 1.7.0 and managed to flash the old desire rom i was using before, but as i said.. i want to update to froyo and use eViL's NXSense 1.21.3 ROM, this requires a new Radio and Kernal i believe.
Can some1 please tell me how to install what i need to to use this rom?
here is a link to the rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730290

I want to install a new ROM, but i need a new kernal and radio, how do i install them?
Which kernel and radio do you currently have, and what do you want to change to?
Have you already tried anything (if so, what problems are you having)?
Here's the radio info:

You can flash kernel from recovery in pretty much the same way...

well, i don't know how to find out what kernal/radio i am using currently.
I need radio 5.08 kernal im not sure, but as i explained i want a froyo based desire rom installed. which do i install 1st? how do i go about it? im sorry but im really noob at this stuff .
ok guys i kinda messed up. so i have the mytouch running the 1.14.531.1 software version, and i was following the "force update 2.2.1 and root" steps and i installed the step 1 file and renamed it and installed it. and now my wifi and data is jacked just like how its supposed to be in the article but my clockword recovery is not working to flash the "update.zip" file no matter what i do. so i downloaded the stock ROM and just want to start from scratch and install this but clockwork will not work correctly to flash anything. any other ideas how to fix this?! i even factory reset but that file i installed is still causing the problems and i need to just flash the stock rom completely and need help or suggestions to just get this fixed.
thanks!

when you say your trying to flash the update with clockwork your talking about the actual recovery right? (just asking cus since rom manager got big a lot of people seem to confuse that with recovery)

Hey guys, I just rooted my phone and need some help with flashing custom roms. I mostly understand the process, however I do not understand how to install the .zip file. I downloaded the bionix fusion 1.2 rom but the problem is that the rom I downloaded is not a .zip file but a regular folder. Do I compress it into a .zip file? Any help would be appreciated.
There are videos on youtube for this I use to need help too those videos taught me a lot and reading on this site for hours on end also see the vibrant bible or as I call it the vible you'll find answers there as well you'll need three things rom manager titanium backup and root access which you already have from what you said your rom will be in the rom manager in the install from sd section then in downloads first back up everything with titanium backup there are other steps but what I've given you is a leg up and hopefully an interest to read about these processes good luck and happy flashing also make sure to learn how to use odin in case you mess up and need to revert to stock
Still flashing , thanks to odin
Yea I've read them but they say use the volume button to find the rom .zip file, the problem is the roms I downloaded are not .zip. They are a folder so when I click the power button to select it, it goes into the folder to subfolders like system and data.
Did you download this from your phone or computer its usually ready for flashing if you go through the mobile app for xda on the market try downloading it again first erase the one you have now to not confuse the two maybe that would help I hope it does cause these roms are the shizz
Still flashing , thanks to odin
I downloaded it to my computer but I will try using the xda mobile app like you suggested. Thanks
No problem man I know you'll enjoy it
Still flashing , thanks to odin
Its easiest to just type xda and not xda developers you'll be diggin around forever
Still flashing , thanks to odin
Yea I just finished flashing the rom man, thanks. For some reason, the file is downloaded as a .zip through the phone but as a folder through the computer. Weird.
Yeah the xda app makes things a lot easier enjoy
Still flashing , thanks to odin

Clockwork does not backup you 4G keys and its not wiping the dalvik or cash correctly you need to use amon_ra. The md5 is like a fingerprint that identifies a file if the md5 changes something in the file changed or did not transfer/download correctly. Use clockwork to flash amon_ra as a recovery but I think you need to have the pay version of clockwork. Hope this helps.

you should be able too but you will have to reinstall your kernel but you should have asked this on ROMS thread
I did that and the wireless was not working so i recommend to do a complete wipe so you can make sure you dont have problems trust me on the long run its better.

You'll save more time by wiping, believe it or not. A lot of little issues may pop up if you don't.
Do this... Make a nandroid of your 4.4 setup, then try flashing over it with 4.5. If you have problems, either go back to your 4.4 nandroid, or wipe and start over with a fresh flash of 4.5.
thank you for the quick responses i had to wipe every and it is working great average of 40mflops
some questions
I am only a few days old to the flashing a ROM to the HTC Evo but I feel I have a pretty good hang of things. I have the following things:
4.5 Mikfroyo (installed last night after finally reading enough to upgrade to the 4.5)
netarchy 4.3.1-cfs-havs-nosbc flashed
the sdreadahead-512.zip installed for faster SD card speeds ( if you want to try it out... http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/02/h...c-evo-even-faster-than-previous-mod.html#more )
but what i am trying to accomplish now is getting the Vanilla lockscreen to work on my phone. I have read that the 4.5 update seems to have the lockscreen within the ROM already, that I just need to delete or rename the htclockscreen.apk within the system/app folder with the Root Explorer app. Here is my issue though: I have changed the Root Explorer to r/w and have located the file from root--->system-->app--->htclockscreen.apk. If I tap on the file it asks me to install/ view/ or cancel. But I thought it was already installed on the system already? If not, do I need to install it, then delete it? That sounds outright silly but then again some stuff is just that way. I have renamed the file and rebooted but, again, to no success. I know that there was a person asking the same question but I guess I could not understand their conversation enough to know how to follow as they did.
Also, just a general question. why is the 4g toggle missing in the notifications bar now? that was kind of handy for me. oh well, i guess i can just use the HTC toggle on a page instead.
Last question, i would like to flash a new theme to the ROM (white version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853050) But when I downloaded it, set it to the SD card, went into recovery, flashed it, and rebooted, the HTC splash screen (white screen) just stayed on forever. I had to restore from my backup, thank god I knew to do that before hand, and just kept the stock theme with MikFroyo. what could I be doing wrong?
I also am having a problem with the lock screen but mine is a little different. When i boot up and unlock phone for the fisrt time. I get a forced close error. Other then that everything in 4.5 is working good so far

Long press on the .apk, a menu will pop up, then click rename from there. Just did it yesterday and it worked fine. I just added .bk at the end (htclockscreen.apk.bk)
As for the 4g missing in the pulldown menu, you can learn how to change it here (taken from the mikfroyo thread) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877003
thank you Bamba, the lockscreen is now operational and wonderful!!! always have wanted this lockscreen! (Guess it is true, the grass is always greener on the other side.)
as for the missing 4g toggle, i kimd of understand the thread but i will read over it one more time so that i do not mess anything up.
Thanks again!

What kernel are you using if you dont mind me askin?.. and are you using SetCPU or anything?.. Juice defender type stuff?..
I was just wondering cuz I have 4.5 w/ the stock kernel and only get about 28-29 most of the time... not that it really matters, but it does seem a little sluggish goin from app to app.... thanks
i have since switched to vp 3.0 remastered, and is by far in my experience the best rom i have every used. everything is working good for me so far and since falling in love with LP this is the rom for me. I am using the latest radio and pri 1.77 and sbc-net 4.1.9 no havs and it is amazing, really fast. So far I have been on this rom and kernel for 18 hours sitting at 71%. I am going to make a detailed video and post a link to it here and for youtube.
New to mikfroyo,Had cynaogenmod cm7 on evo with cricket.worked ok.3g did.Friday i had it flashed back to sprint.Put cyanogen back on it.worked great.EXCEPT the 3g would go back to 1x. So put 4.5 mikfroyo. and it works great. So my question is were do you get the updates for mikfroyo? cyanogen released nightly builds. Is there a site or info on updates? Also is there a 2.3 android mikfroyo out?
