Hey guys,
I just discovered that the Galaxy S2 is compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 LE
AND it is already included in latest Cyanogenmod (10.2 and 11) and Omnirom nightlies
and can easily be added to many other ROMs
It seems like the original work comes from XDA user elTorres
so hop over there and give him a thanks
this means we can now take advantage of lower power consumption and use BT4.0 only accessories like the FitBit (with a modded app) or others :victory:
I know this isn't exactly new but i haven't taken note of it before and wanted to let you all know in case you missed it like I did

over the time I did some experiment about the open source hal and samsung blobs PaulK And Entropy512 has done an awesome job but it seem like the open source audio is seriously lacking some stuff cause the sound does not sound crispy at all.. I know this isn't completed :crying:
overall they are doing this without samsung or yamaha help at all I for once feel samsung has made a great mistake by using Yahama Chip compare to what they use in GS3 And In Note 2
and another issue is that the battery life in Cyanogenmod 10.1 does not meet samsung JB 4.1.2
it is said that Samsung JB Uses more ram thus it is suppose to use more battery but this isnt the case compare to Cyanogenmod 10.1 I really dont know if the developers know about this but if they dont I think this is a good time to highlight them
did the battery fuel reset :good:
Samsung LEAKED JB
3G was On for 3 Hours Battery Remain 100% Without Usage
Cyanogenmod JB 10.1
3G was On for 3 Hours Battery Remain 92% Without Usage
Im hoping and really hoping that Cyanogenmod 10.1 be a good rom compare to Cyanogenmod 9 and 10 and I know the developers have been trying hard to make this come true atleast they fix the exploit faster then Samsung
this are two main issue that is using 10.1 to be falling down I hope this get address to the developers and I hope samsung really does something about help the open source developers..
to the mods/admin if there is a need to close this thread please atleast respect my decision and let me know via PM First as I hope one of the Cyanogenmod Developers about SGS2 gets highlight about this issue
thank you

First I'm sorry if my english is bad. I will do my best to be understandable.
Back in the day with my SGS2 I tried many many rom and in the end the best I found was a stock rom debloated but aosp themed.
I had all the feature like mhl working and I was able to reinstall any samsung app I wanted. And all that without the horrible (for my taste) samsung call screen/sms screen/system setting screen and icon notification.
I tried to find something similar with the SGS4 but I can't find one matching my criteria. I only found CGM based rom or debloated rom. Do I need to wait or is there something like that already out there? Or just a team that work on something like that I can follow for future release?
Have a good day!
You're talking about Chameleon for the S2, unfortunately nothing like it was made for the S3 or Note 2. Mostly stuff based on CM10 which means no Samsung framework.

I was talking about foxhound and serendipidy but chameleon seem to belike that to.
But there is hybrid rom for note 2. When I searched for the chameloen rom I found that: HYBRID AOSP-TW for note 2

There is also a rom called Blandroid that i was using for a while on my s3, which was also a hybrid between stock and touchwiz
I can't wait for an hybrid rom. I almost returned my s4 for a note 2 just because they have already good custum rom.
I wonder if the battery life will be as good as now; I have 48h batterie life with epub reading/call/using the GPS/music listening/ect with bluetooth ON, GPS ON and a few widget that sync over the network.

i was thinking the same thing especially since theyre both quad core, but in the end having the faster of the two processors, the 1080p screen and the ir blaster is well worth the trade off (my opinion). Keep your head up we are going to have a uber amount of ROMs in the near future
Hello. I'm going to change my OPO because of it is too big and touchscreen issue drives me crazy.
I'm just curious if cm12.1 is better than stock ROM for s5.
I've herd that there is no official Samsung's kernel source support, so custom ROMs are garbage.
It that true? I love CM, and I want my future phone to run CM smoothly as nexuses or 1+1.
What about camera cm vs stock? Is battery good on cm12/12.1?
My experience: ROM is flying compared to stock. Everything is faster and smoother.
Yet I choose to use a stock based ROM (themed to look like AOSP). Primarily because bluetooth audio streaming stutters.
Cm camera is OK, but stock is much better.
In my experience battery is more or less the same.

Is cm12.1 stable enough for daily usage? Are there any other issues with BT, WiFi, GPS?
Well, cm12.1 has enough bugs, GPS not working, Bluetooth can crash, also less features. I installed it mostly because it is now based on android 5.1.1, which has working WiFi, and Samsung ROM is 5.0, buggy as hell, plus they will not release updates till Christmas. Anyway, s6 ROM 5.1.1 is in testing, and when it will be released, it will be ported to s5, so I will install it.
GPS crashes in my s5 never,Bluetooth headset stutters a little bit but it can be fixed with Bluetooth patcher.
I would say Samsung stock Roms are definitievly better but cm 12.1 is also good and it has started just a few month ago,so waiting is the best choice you could do

Hello, I'm curious. What is the Bluetooth patcher you're talking about?
I've search with no descent results.
Thank you
It's called BT Patcher and it is needed for Ant + products to Connecticut Thema with your device.
Ant + products are things like smart watch ...etc
I dont know if the BT patcher is necassery for headset but you could test it ,it seems for me like if it makes the stuttering lower
I will probably get my newly ordered Note 4 (N910G) tomorrow, and I want to go straight to business with a good ROM and kernel. I was using Arya Mod on Note 3 and it was an excellent ROM, full with features, but more importantly based on stock, and that's what I am looking here too, completely based on official stock firmware but with features added, features like Priority sender, Delayed message timer for stock messaging app, no gap for the notification toggle area etc., anyone who has used Arya will know what I am talking about. So if there is a ROM like that please do suggest me. I don't/won't change ROM often, so it has to be stable as hell too.
And a kernel also please. Stability is the key factor here too, but next preference is performance, I don't care about batter life at all, so total smoothness (can't stand micro jitters) is the target here and if possible then features like Touch2Wake etc. are welcome. I used a kernel called Shinto on my Note 3 and it was butter smooth with Precognition governor, just so you know.
So please, shoot me.
PS: The ROM has to be Deodexed, cause I will use Xposed.

I can't suggest anything, but here's what I want to share....
Samsung is making his device complicated (from what I see)....
If you try to compare from Note2 up to Note 4, samsung is trying to classify its device into country /region (due to network frequency or any other reason). And Note 4 has more different models compare to Note 2 and Note 3.
and if you notice, each model got fewer custom ROM (if you try to compare with earlier device).
This is my reason why I never root and change into custom ROM, and only after almost 1 year, then I decide to root to play with my note 4.
If you are a TW lover just like me, you will find very few ROM and/or kernel available for snapdragon G series.
So, ...
with a very few ROM/kernel, I think it will be good for you to try it one by one and find the one suit u better.
Cheers,
Thanks. I flashed a very popular ROM but unfortunately it doesn't have what I need, the Delayed sending option in Stock messaging app. I need that option very badly.
Could anyone please tell me whether there is a custom ROM based on stock purely which has that feature enabled?
Hi, i just bought a second hand Nexus 10. I realy like it and for me had been a step up from an old asus tablet. Im using it for youtube, Netflix, NLziet(dutch TV app) and web browsing.
It came with RR OS V6.2.1 20181006 Based on Android 8.1
But what is the best smooth running rom with good battery life. I dont care for NFC or the camera but i like it as close to stock android as possible.
I see there are Lineage 16 and 17 roms but ive red in the comments that people are not really happy with it. And although i think its great that those guys make all those roms i never had a good experience with it. (on my Galaxy A3 2017)
So what is the best (mostly stock) ROM with the best performance and battery life (at least Android 5, i need it for a TV provider app) And why?
Ill try to make a list and name the pro's and con's so other people can use this information.
I'm asking for the same question
Used Nexus with stock - want the best(performance and battery life) rom out there, don't care much for minor things as NFC - as it will be used for Netflix/Youtube etc
Looking for fastest and stable rom that speakers and 3.5mm plug is fully working - don't want gapps so I'll get the best from its battery!
