Hi,
Internet turns off after being idle for some time on ICS 4.04 this problem was there on my phone as soon asi switched from Stock to Cutom 4.03.. even after getting 4.04 this problem persists.
Plz tell me a way around this problem as i have to stay connected all the time..
I ahve to hence toggle the "data enable - On /off" for it to get connected .. and some times whn that doesnt work.. i hv to reboot the phone..

Have you changed the baseband to the Asian baseband? that can help.
Never had this problem even when I never changed my baseband. Please post result after changing the baseband.

Brajesh.. i had to change the abseband initially for a signal to appear in the first place.. i was on the india..china SEA baseband.. on your request i have tried the other basband as well Hongkong / Taiwan though its the same frequency .
I think i may have put some settlings which might be doing this...
Regualily an "E" sign appear on top when i am online ( E-Edge probably) but i use 2G only.. i read sm whr to save battery .. mobile cuts of internet on phone . Is this why it is happenenig with me??? Please tell me a way around ...

I'm from Poland, Play Mobile. I tried to change bandwidth few times, now I think, internet stops to switching off. Dunno what is causing this problem. On cm7 never happend. However after flashing CM9 from epsylon, network indicator is showing 3g (instead of H in stock or cm7) but in the system information is HSPA.

thanks i will try this... but the problem is that i have a defy not a defy plus.. the build you are refering to is for defy + i think....today.. when i tried the 120406 nightly after patching the zip of nightly and gapps.. when i tried to run the kernel(CM7 one).. the phone shutdown.. didnt pose a problem in restarting.. but it did smthing it wasnt suppose to do... hence i am little apprehensive.. so plz clarify which files to use..which kernel. and nightly file..
If you have red lense, then you can use defy+ build by installing cm9 kernel.
If you want to return to a defy build later, just install cm7 kernel again

Defy, Green - Then i am comfortable with the present build i am on.. But this really doesnt solve my problem.. can this be solved without flashing it again.. Very few seems to face this perticular problem..Help me out!!!

You will get CM9 for Defy builds by Epsilon here
Do you flashed the rom only one time? Or have you flashed the rom twice?
For me i had the same problems on cm7 but after flashing latest epsylon all work great. Perhaps try a full wipe and flash once more. (make a backup before and you have nothing to loose or?)
I have defy green lense and after choose the right baseband i have no problems, beofre with asian baseband in germany it doesnt work very well. So be sure you have choose the right baseband and/or full wipe and flash
for me new nighties updated via builtin updater solved problem. Now defy works perfect on ics.

Have you tried taking your sim card out and giving it a good clean? I actually found that mine was bent from getting hot. After a clean and straighten it works very well with the latest ics builds. I was getting continual disconnects previously.

I had the same issue on my D+ when I was on Quarx latest cm9 nightly. Initially the network doesnt show up at all. So i had to use baseband switcher to select India after flashing every Cm build. Then switched to latest cm7.2 by Quarx, but strangely it happened on 7.2 too. Then I just casually switched baseband to China ME722 1.10 and now the issue seems to be resolved. I'm yet to try the same on Cm9, will be trying it out in a day or two.

I can´t help you but i have a same problem like you. And i´m from the Czech Republic. Maybe i can change the bb.
Changing the baseband to other locations did not help the cause.. the same problem still persists..
Also my SIM seems fit and fine( )... and i cleaned it.. ( just for the sake of it)..but the problem is still thr

I'm using Epsylon's 6th April build and it works perfectly fine. Even what I feel like; it is the best ROM to date which does not disconnects automatically as I face this problem with other ROMs.

i used that ROM as well it was there in dat ROM as well.. i am stil facing when i am on 4.04 16 Apr build.... still its there..
Could you discuss the setting for internet etc... so i can check if thrs anything i can do on that front.. its selected on "only 2G" with baseband set to SEA (Asia) ...lemme knw about that front.
this problem is the single most irritating problem i am facing ever since i put a custom ROM..

hi, im new in xda, sorry for my bad english
im on stock kernel.
but i have a litle problem with froyopro v2.5.
wifi is working only few minutes since i turn on the phone , after 5 or 10 minutes stop working.
ive tried to flash the file Wifi4someuser.zip attached in the froyopro thread but, nothing happen,
i flashed the rom 4 or 5 times and with full wipe , wipe cache devilk and eveything but nothing work.
i was editing the tiwlan but the wifi dosnt work.
any ideas ?
You mean you are using the phone and suddenly it just disconnect? Or when you are not using the phone?

i mean i turn on the phone, wifi works 5 or 10 minutes, after stop worklin,,, i thin the problem is the refresh , when I have the modem close to me,the signal is full but when I have the modem away from me the signal is the same.
the wifi signal not refresh i think thats the problem
as the signal is not refresh does not tell me I'm disconect just tells me that the network is not available
clear the history of wifis i dont think it will solve your problem but give it a try

Maybe it is a ROM bug. Not much people use this ROM, cant really confirm. Why dont you change to Gingerbread ROMs?

I think there's problem of certain routers,I had the same problem before, when I switched to another operater WiFi work without any problems.. try some other ROM maybe tiwlan.ini make problems..
Try GingerDX or PrimeHD!

i think your right, when i was on ginger dx v24 wifi works great, but on froyopro dont work,
so I wanna the froyo pro for gaming, anyway, ill try to replace the tiwlan from ginger dx 24 rom and i will test, if dont work i ll come back to gingerdx24
EDIT: i tryed replacing the wifi folder and tiwlan but no changes, ....so im back to the new ginger dx v 25 and works great.

Why do people say install wifi drivers - there are only two types - stock wifi driver & Whitexp wifi driver - the later only to be used with Whitexp kernel or hells fusion #50

to answer the thread question
make sure you are using percys cm7 #2 kernel
if not flash this kernel as wifi will not work without it
if your still having problems after that you will need to set a static ip address
go into wifi advanced settings
now to set static ip address varies depending on your network address
typically your ip address will be 192.168.something.somthing
default gateway will be same except last digit
subnet is normally 255.255.255.0 or something like that
check your router settings

.. TS , Try to check your Router Settings in past few weeks i have the same problem. i cant connect my wifi then i Just search it in google then i found an update.zip on other forums file containing wifi driver(stock wifi driver) i flashed it and my wifi has been fixed. Try to do what marcussmith2626 said. or else try to search it on google. I Hope i helped you

I tried to root and install ROM evo-4.2 my samsung galaxy y.Firstly, I backup ed the data using clockwork mod recovery(CWM).Then I rooted my phone.After clearing data I installed Hells Fusion Kernel. I flashed the ROM,then rebooted my phone.My phone was not restarting(only "samsung galaxy y"was visible).Then I left the idea of installing ROM and restored the backup using CWM. My phone started ,but now I cannot connect to my WiFi.The WiFi network is not visible even though I am very close to it. Also, I cannot view my stock Recovery...My phone directly boots into CWM.
Please Help me to enable my phone WiFi...

Where can I get stock wifi driver??
If you are using hells fusion #50 flash dhd1.1 in attachment in cwm with system mounted
Note this driver will only work with hells fusion #50 kernel or Whitexp kernel
any other kernel flash dhd-stock or the kernels own wifi driver
custom kernels like hells fusion #50 has cwm built in - stock recovery is not required but can replace cwm with stock recovery by flashing stock kernel - if you flash the hells fusion #50 zip and follow step 1 it will flash stock kernel but as I said it's not required

If you flashed hells fusion #50 with the aroma installer then, you will find an option of installing stock kernel on your phone.
Go to cwm>mount system>flash the aroma installer of hells fusion #50 >then you will find 3 options, one for installing stock kernel and one for installing hells fusion kernel. choose for installing stock kernel. let the process finish and reboot the phone. thats it. you are done.

Trust Him , He is Correct. He Post what exactly i want to say to you. He Just Came first in this thread . BTW .. Last week i have a problem EXACTLY like yours. I Flashed the wifi drivers from HFK's thread(hell fusion kernel) Search for it and follow the steps perfectly.

I am having the same problem...

Wifi n hotspot are not working and the phone boots directly to cwm instead of stock recovery and on every reboot Rs2 is being deducted...what to do???

1.Go to Menu
2.Go to Setting
3.Go to Wireless and Network
4.Go to Wi-Fi Setting
5.Then Press Menu Button
6.Then Select Advanced
7.Tick Static ID
8.IP Adrees is 192.168.1.253
9.Gateway is 192.168.1.1
10.Netmask is 255.255.255.0
11.DNS1 is 8.8.4.4
12.DNSI2 is 4.4.4.4 or 8.8.8.8

This is not the correct answer & I'll explain why
Different people are on different networks
99% of home users will be on a class c network so yes subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0 meaning the first 3 parts are the network & the last part the host
But my network could be on 192.168.256.1
meaning ip would be the network address 192.168.256 then a valid host
dns is assigned by isp so that will be different
Anyway that's not the answer to the op question anyway
They were simply using the wrong wifi driver for the kernel they was on
Hells fusion uses whites wifi driver
most other kernels use stock wifi driver
i just rooted my nexus4 (Mako) and i flashed the latest PACman ROM, i had NO issues, no errors, nothing. when i turn the phone on i notice that it doesnt recognize the wifi, is like its been disabled and then i notice that the speaker wont work either
ive been looking for someone who has the same problem, but neither here on XDA, PACman forums and google i could find something like this!
any help would be great

Well even I'm having the same problem but not just with PAC ROMs...WiFi doesn't work on paranoid android, aokp as well...
Right now I'm running CyanogenMod 11 which is quite stable...have been using it for some time now without any issues...this, and the stock ROM are the only ones where WiFi works for me

My friend had the same problem,his phone could not connect my wifi,but mine could.If you have another phone with wifi try if you can connect.
Sometimes its not phones fault,I fixed my friends problem going to my routers page(192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 Depens what router you are using. )
So I went on routers page,went to Wifi settings and then changed the channel settings(From 01 channel to 04).
And then restarted router.
My friend was able to connect to it right away.
Note:This problem began to appear when he flashed custom rom.

Ditto here. Wifis greyed out on most Roms.Add Miui to this list also.. :-/ anyone know what's wrong.. ???

Running pa 4.0 beta here. No issues.
For those flashing KK roms, are you using the latest radio?

I was flashing 4.3 ROMs without flashing radio....
Go there ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227 and download and flash the correct radio files and you're good to go!!

If you are flashing the 4.3 pacman ROM, then try flashing the 0.84 radio from the link I posted above.....(worked for me on probam rom running jb 4.3.1)
