I am running flex Rom 1.3 everything works but data. I have no apn settings in settings, tethering, mobile networks. I can choose lte-cdma, global etc.... but no data or apn in settings. I am wondering if it is possible to build an apn patch so I can use this incredible stock based Rom. Any help is greatly appreciated. If it works then I would be more than willing to donate to your fund. Thanks.

No dice. Have nothing under mobile networks. If I install a shortcut using nova launcher I see the pans in settings there. The only one I can choose is vzwinternet. There are others but no luck. I even tried matching my gs4 apn settings.

not certain, definitely make a back up first
but there's a ro.setupwizard.mode=DISABLED in my build.prop
you could try turning the phone off, taking out the sim, booting it up, then powering it off, putting the sim back in and power back on, supposedly thats supposed to reconnect you

Now that we have root access, lets keep track of which system apps are safe to remove for the time being until custom ROMs are out.
I'll start playing around with them now and report as I go.
Would love others who are removing files to chime in as well
====================================
Removed, Rebooted and my phone did not catch fire or crash (most of these are pretty obvious)
**Please note, a few of these bloat apps have to removed from both /system/app and /data/app to fully remove**
AmazonShopping_TMO.apk
BonusApp_TMO.apk
BooksTablet.apk
ChatON.apk
com.mobitv.client.tmobiletvhd.apk
ECID-release_TMO.apk
Flipboard.apk
GameHub_2.0_ICS.apk
MoreServices.apk
PlusOne.apk
SamsungApps.apk
SamsungAppsUNA3.apk
Videos.apk
Vvm_TMO.apk
Not sure what these do so I'm not removing them yet but they appear to be bloat
===FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWS THE FOLLOWING===
Appears they're something to do with Carrier IQ
IQ-tmobile-release-unsigned.signed_TMO.apk <---WiFi Calling? logo shows "Carrier IQ"
IQ_OOB_TMO.apk <---Not sure
IQToggle.signed_TMO.apk <---Not sure
=======================================
MobileLifeContacts_TMO.apk
PolarisViewer.apk
Talk.apk (is this Google Talk?)
Restoring data only from my SGSII now...will report back.
OK, removing those freed up a ton of RAM.
Free RAM is currently showing at 1.2GB (before it was ~800 or less if I'm not mistaken).
Only things really just "sitting" there now (in the running apps) are AllShare Play, MAPServiceSamsung, Media, Media Hub and MobileLife Contacts...besides what's usually there like keyboard, Maps, Google Services, etc.

Yeah, go to the development section and there is a link to the Sprint root. It works absolutely perfectly. If you'd like, I'll take a screenshot of BusyBox and the /system/app through Root Explorer.
On topic, does anyone have information on the files I have listed as not sure? I think the three IQ files are Carrier IQ related (not sure what this is).
EDIT- Researched CarrierIQ...didn't realize I knew what it was lol. Wonder if it's safe to remove them though...

These are the three files I'm talking about:
IQ-tmobile-release-unsigned.signed_TMO.apk
IQ_OOB_TMO.apk
IQToggle.signed_TMO.apk
When you google the top apk it comes back something about WiFi calling, just an FYI. No info found on the other two. I'm assuming its CarrierIQ though. If you click the IQ-tmobile.release-unsigned.signed_TMO.apk with RootExplorer then click "view" and search through the files, you'll find an icon file and the icon is CarrierIQ.
Beyond all the files I've already removed, there aren't much more to take off unless you want to remove core features that you might not use such as AllShare, MediaHub, etc. Stuff like that, though, I'll wait for others to tinker with lol. Those could be linked to system files.
Like I said though, I'm up to about 1.1-1.2GB free RAM

Go through setup and i have no home page just a black screen with notification bar,Which shows regularly as if phone was fine. I can view recent apps by holding home screen and besides that, that's about it.

Reboot
Or try hooking up your USB and transferring an apk that you download from your computer for a launcher such as Go launcher or launcher pro ( you can do this using notification bar to mount) and then drag and drop from your computer.
Install the apk, and if your problem is no home screen app, press the home button and it will work.

The best advice i can give you is return the phone since you said its new anyway. And a word of advice, if you can return it and if you can exchange it, i would get a different phone.
So I did what "rockstarar" said and it worked.
Now i then went into Rom manager and chose "install rom from SD".
did a backup and then when the phone finished it rebooted and stuck at the CM9 Mod Bootscreen...

Where does the APK file need to go, do you need to run the APK, and what permissions need to be used??
Thank you
Just wondering does anyone have any more info on this??
Has anyone got this to work on a Verizon Phone ??
Might there need to be a second file to go with this??
Also it is not clear where to put the file and or if people should run the APK once the have it on the phone.
Thank you
It doesnt work like that guys, you cant just install it.It goes along with more than one file ( i think 3..) and there is work to be done possibly from a developer,in order for the phone to recognize it.
