Look in the Themes and Apps section. There are a couple of mods that are supposed to improve music quality. I haven't tried any yet, but it seems like a lot of people like viper mod. Here's the link.

HD2 Audio Quality

Hi,
I've recently bought a HD2 and I love it! I've actually started using it as my music player as it's more convenient. Coming from an iPhone and iPod Classic for my music I can't help to notice the audio quality just isn't as good with the HD2 with headphones.
I'm using a pair of Dr. Dre Monster Beat's Solo's and everything sounded alot nicer on my iPod. I've downloaded the SRS WOW sound for my HD2 and this improves sound quality although I was just wondering if anyone would have equaliser settings etc that would bring it on par with iPod's sound quality.
Thanks!!!
I've sadly got an 80GB Ipod Classic and out of all of the MP3 players I've ever had (and believe me I've had a few, the first one I bought I paid over £150 for and it had only 32MB of memory), it's by far the worst in terms of audio reproduction whereas the HD2 sounds decent out of the box and pretty amazing with SRS WOW so you'll have to excuse me if I'm a little sceptical of your 'Apple fanboyism'...
I'm definitely not saying the HD2 sounds bad although I believe my iPod sounded better with my headphones compared to the HD2. I'm definitely not an Apple fanboy lol...
In that case, try installing SRS WOW (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=330851&d=1274618355) and play around with the settings while listening to some music and I don't think that you could possibly be disappointed. If you still think that your iPod sounds better (without being rude) I think you might want to consider getting your ears syringed...
Instructions:
1. Install the CAB to \Device.
2. DO NOT ACCESS THE PROGRAM.
3. Soft reset your device.
4. Access it's settings from Settings ->

One of the main reasons why I use Leo instad of my Desire is be cause of the sound quality with SRS WOW! Give it a try!
As a person with poor hearing (hell i'm almost deaf in my right ear and my left isn't much better) i have to say with SRS WOW installed the hd2 sounds almost as good as my 5.1 surround sound speakers combined with my sound card (see below) although i would love to know how to save custom settings. As i like to have an audio profile for certain types of music in order for me to hear it better. I'm running the lastest version of SRS if that makes a difference

Far as I know there isin't a way to save profiles yet. But it is diffrent pre-made profiles, you can try to edit them and then go back and check if it stays the same. I have not upgraded to lastetst version yet.
I've been playing around with the SRS WOW and listening between my HD2 and my iPod with my Monster Beats Solos and the iPod is still giving me much nicer bass.

Go back to using your ipod then if your not satisfied. I (and many others) have no time for people that post comments like the above. Although if you are really commited to using your Leo as an mp3 player try tweaking the trubass levels or changing your headphones and if that doesn't work go see a doctor about your hyper accusis because you seem to be able to detect differences that no one else can!!!

If you have no time for these comments then why are you sitting here commenting. Don't comment. Why would I change $300 headphones that are completely fine? It looks like the HD2 can't produce the sound I'm looking for.

use GSplayer V.2.29 ,the best sound quality player
http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/
use the EQ (Menu/Tools/Effects/Egualizer )that the GSPlayer have to add little bass and you ok
see the attached configuration of the EQ i recommend
regards
edward
coreplayer or TCPMP+audio booster (RnB)+SRS WOW (latest version, with the revamped recommended settings) gives my HD2 much much superior sound quality over the ipod/iphone. i have owned an iphone before and i can easily say that the HD2 coupled with the above tweaks beats the iphone/ipod out of the water

As the guy above me said!
What can we do if you even can't even make the settings for SRS WOW as you want.

Poor Headphone Audio Quality on Desire HD

Hey everyone,
i know there have been a lot of threads about the poor audio quality of the speaker. While it is not perfect, i can live with the quality revolution HD brings.
But when i use my earphones/headphones, i always notice how bad the Desire HD performs when playing music. Even when i compare the quality to a cheap MP3-Player, it doesnt sound good.
Can someone explain why the quality is so bad and if there is any way to improve the audio quality?
My Ideas would be:
-Bluetooth Audio adapter (but then again it is wireless, can't really be better)
-get a micro-usb to 3.5mm adapter (wouldnt help probably)
Any Ideas?
well, the DHD isn't famous for it's audio quality... there is nothing you can do about that.
it's probably related to a cheap sound chip used in the dhd.
Sent out of my Free Candy Van.
Just how "bad" quality are you talking about? Currently I'm using Nokia BH-503 and I'm pretty much satisfied with it. Good bass, clarity and range. It may not be the best, but "good" enough.
well, i use it as my default music player as well and it doesnt perform miserably, but whenever i connect my 150$ earphones, i always feel underwhelmed.
The highs just don't perform well, they lack a certain clarity. They sound a bit like tin cans
strange. i have the best audio quality on headset of all mp3 player i ever had with my DHD. i am still astonished how decent it is.
all of my friends have confirmed this.
At least DHD is far better than cheap MP3 player. But from where I am, I can't judge directly your claim. But you could use person near you to judge it. Ask if the sounds are truly bad as you said. Better if you could find another DHD for comparison. If it is the same, it seems that you set your standards a bit too high. No offense.
Strange to see this thread^^ I think the audio quality of the dhd is superb. I've been using an iPod for the last years and the quality is about the same i guess in normal mode. But when i enable SRS its like another level. I hear details on my tracks that i didn't even knew where there before.
So i really can't give any complaints. But anyway about 80% of the music quality comes from your headphones. I'm using stage in ears from shure because I'm a musician, and those headphones are much better than the average 30 bucks ones.
well, i recently noticed this when listening to a sony MP3-Player. When Comparing it to an LG P990, i also found the quality to be a bit clearer on the LG.
The SRS Sound does make it a little punchier, but it doesn't really fix the sound quality in my opinion.
I installed Volume Ace which gives you full control of all volume settings and I also have an app called Equalizer installed which, yes allows you to set various profiles/presets of music including bass, reverb, spacializer, echo etc etc. My DHD has SUPERB sound with this. If you use the stock music app it even switches profiles automatically provided the mp3 has the metadata for genre of music etc. I use Mortplayer which is now available for Android and I used it on WinMob too. It is THE best music player imho. I also use the HTC bluetooth headset and the sound quality is equally good with rich bass etc etc.
I use Moboplayer for movies/videos and the sound is equally superb. I am not sure what problem your device might have?
i will give the equalizer app a try, will report back whether i am more satisfied with the sound then.
UPDATE: The sound does seem quite a bit better when i use the equlalizer, thanks for that!

i use a good AKG Headset and the sound is superb... on my DHD
I use Poweramp with these settings (iBeats headphones)
Equaliser preset: Techno (You can try Rock too, I dont listen to these but they offer clean bass and good highs)
Bass knob: About 40%
Treble knob: About 55%
Tone: Enabled
DHD: SRS Enhancement
Try it, its better than anything else I've seen on basically any other device.
I totally agree,
The HTC in comparison to different ipods and MP3 players is not in the same league.
Even the power is much lower on the HTC...
Currently i'm using iPod for my music (for the "real" music), along with the DHD for ...m.... calling ?
Gentlemen, lets not generalize. The DHD might not be on par with iPods/iPhones.
But that doesn't mean whole HTC is not on par. Example, my HD2 sounds better than my gf ipod, but that might be the music player (android ginger) tweaks.
Another example, on the world of smartphones, the olddy HTC Kaiser has one of the better speakerphones, i haven't seen nothing better (except some old nokias like the ngage 1st gen, yet this one usually would burn the speaker)
So, though the sound might not be that good, i rather have a phone that plays good sound, than a phone and a mp3 player. Honestly, most my musics are on FLAC, so any mp3 player would sound bad to me. No... i'm not a audophile. I don't have a better ear than anyother, but i can see difference between a 320kbps mp3 and any flac.
I have found that audio quality is very poor through the HTC supplied headset, but through my personal headphones really good, plus the ARHD ROM adds some volume and aswell to the sound.

I'm curious if you're using the stock ROM (that came with your phone) or a custom one (CyanogenMod, MIUI, etc.)
I'm on Miui.us ROM and my audio through headphones is quite clear, if rather loud.
I am using ARHD.
With the Beats Audio add-on it seems quite a lot better (the highs don't oversteer that much anymore).
My DHD performs quite correctly in the matter of sound !!
Check out the radio updates, roms and softwares
They can change a lot already

Audio quality - WM6.5 vs WP7

Just a quick question...
What in your opinion sounds better, WinMo 6.5 with SRS WOW enabled or plain WP7 on the HD2?
Sent from my HD2 using Board Express
I hate SRS. It totally destroys the music experience imo. So compared those two w/out any 'sound enhancer' I could't hear much of a difference. But if you really want a great sound I would suggest you to go for an Android ROM ported from Runnymede right here. It has a very advanced music app and also it has Beats Audio (!) which makes almost any genre of music amazing. I never listened to such a good sound on my phone. So if you are really a music enthusiasist like me you should give it a shot. Also recommended with in-ear headphones.

Music Quality on the One

Sorry if this has been posted already. I searched and couldn't find.
How is the music quality on the One? Specifically with the headphones. The stereo speakers I am sure are better than other phones, but i dont see myself using them more often than the headphones, not even 5%.
The HOX music quality was reviewed by all to be very bad. Atleast on paper. Although i enjoy music on my HOX, but i know it is not as good as e.g. an IPod. With the audio mods by lyapota and others, the quality has improved substantially though. But as the HOX reviews say, hardware (sound card) deficiencies can't be completely overcome by software mods.
Hence the question. how is HTC One quality compared to the other music players you have used. Specifically compared to HOX and Galaxy SIII, and maybe iphone.
Any comments would be appreciated. Because for me, this is one of the deciding factors between S4 and One, and who knows maybe even IP5 .
Thanks in advance.
AW: Music Quality on the One
Renovate rom will bring you good music sound on headphones.
Otherwise beats audio should be better than on the one x.
But it's all based on personal opinion so you should check it out on your own.

We all have personal preferences but my early experiences are good.
Using my iems and the Sony MDR-1 it sounds pretty decent to me with Beats not providing the over bloated bass of the past versions.
It's good enough to not miss my previous iPhone music quality and certainly an improvement on my Nexus 4

For those upgrading from SIII, or who have used both SIII and HOX. How is the music quality comparison between samsung and htc devices in general?
although i do know each model has a different sound card and music quality, be it models of samsung or of htc. but in general, the latest flagships.

Nexus 6P Jack Audio Quality

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Nexus 6P, I've seen many reviews and it seems to be all good, except for the audio quality with headphones.
Can anybody tell me if there is a way to improve audio quality? Or it can be improved with upcoming android updates?

Viper4Android is the only way. The stock audio sounds decent as long as you don't compare to an iPhone basically... And there is the issue of white noise at low volume... In honesty, if I knew this issue before, I would avoid it because I use headphones all day. But that is purely subjective
I use Poweramp and this App was worth every penny. Further more I've built myself a small pocket amplifier in a Altoids mints can and can increase the output for my not so sensitive in Ear plugs
thanks, @gman88667733, have you tried with viper4android? does it improve considerably?
Audio is optimal while using headphones. But it's too low when connected to external speaker.
