Hey all
Hope you can help. I'm running stock Android 4.2.2 unrooted. I downloaded DashClock and added it to my lock screen, however when I press the power button to look at the lock screen the widgets are really small next to the clock rather than full screen. If I swipe to the left and then back to the lock screen, the widgets go full screen. Any idea on how to make the widgets permanently full size like the picture below.

I'm afraid you need root to do this. I am running Paranoid's latest build and there is the option to make widgets go full screen in lockscreen.

So there's a couple things about this question:
First, any widgets that you have in your first lockscreen by default are minimized to make room for your lock circle. If you just drag down on the widget, it will maximize your widget at the expense of your lock circle, which then has to be tapped to be brought up again. This is the behavior that you are seeing when you swipe away and then swipe back.
Second, if you want, some custom ROMs (namely cm and PA, but possibly others) have recently implemented an option to have your widget be expanded by default. So if that's what you're looking for, I would start there. Unfortunately, this feature is not available on stock so you will have to root your phone.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies. It's a shame I have to root and rom to add that setting. I guess I'll have to do without.

An alternative if you don't want to flash a custom ROM is to use WidgetLocker.

Actually, my bad. I assumed that DashClock's lockscreen widget is the same as it's homescreen widget. Apparently they're different. If you use WidgetLocker, you'll only be able to see the full homescreen widget.
To see what I mean, add the DashClock widget to one of your homescreens and compare that to what you see on the lockscreen...

I’m going to contradict myself here. I just realized that if the homescreen version of the DashClock widget is resized to be larger, it becomes identical to the lockscreen version of the widget.
Unfortunately, for some weird reason, if you try the same with WidgetLocker, the widget still looks like the compact version.
So, WidgetLocker is not the way to go for this. Sorry!
just for the record it is aokp's feature. very nice idea indeed.

Thank for this info I was also having that same problem. running Paranoid's 3.0 latest build and sure enough this fix the dash clock widget not showing up in full lock screen size.. Thank you .
Before you go rooting and installing all sorts of weird stuff, try swiping Down on the Dashclock widget on the lockscreen, that might give you the results you want

Nope, doesn't work for me.
Its a shame that stock Android doesn't have the option to maximize the lock screen widgets. I won't root and add a custom rom so it's a no go area for me unfortunately. Google if you're reading this please add that option!

This is how dashclock was designed and unfortunately you have to pull down the screen to get full access. Not sure the developer will change this or at least make an option to change this in future versions. You could always try and contact the developer and ask him to include this as an option, his Google+ account would be a good place to start.

I don't have G+ or twitter account and don't want to create one. I'll just wait and see if this is implemented in future.
If you are running PA (15th feb) go to hybrid properties -> swipe right -> tools -> turn on expert mode. Now go to interface and reduce lockscreen down to something like 190dpi. This should enable you to see the widget in full screen on the lockscreen. At least this is what worked for me.

I was able to get the widget to display full mode with two rows of info perfectly using the following settings on PA:
250 DPI lockscreen (turn on expert mode)
260 DPI dashclock widget
Keeps the overall size reasonable for both pattern unlock and widget size.

Hello fellow G2-Users,
One thing that bothers me with this great phone is the lack to customize the stock lockscreen. For example display calendar and weather, changing the clock etc. I know there is WidgetLocker and other apps but i want to keep the great unlocking animation from the stock lockscreen and of course knockoff from lockscreen.
Who else wants this?
Who can make this possible?
THX

I'm using a PIN code for security, so that changes things a bit. On that version of the lock screen, you can swipe from the left and add widgets. Stock lockscreen.

Thx for your suggestion!! iam aware of that and it is also avaible without PIN security. But i want to see my next appointment and weather on the main lockscreen and change the (ugly) stock clock.
Try "Android Weather" app. It has the features you mention, you can make the widget transparent if you want, and it can be added to the lockscreen.

After the first week or so with lockscreen widgets on other phones, I found them useless. They were limited in information and functionality... and honestly, my muscle memory was to pickup my phone and unlock it. Then if they magnified to the full screen, the area to swipe to unlock got small... I just think for me, they were a waste. Once I am 2 or 3 swipes, or touches in, I can unlock it just as fast.
I hope someone figures out how to add them back. I have an ICE app that I need to have a lock screen widget for.
I always used the message g widget, always quicker than unlocking and going into the messaging app, I also used the app shortcut widget that u swipes to the right for, especially after getting spoiled using cover lockscreen, which I uninstalled due to too many bugs

The same for me. Please, help us!
I know that with root, I can use Xposed framework and download galaxy s5 widget to do it... but what about Note4 without root ?
(P.S. I'm sorry for my English...)
Ice contact lock screen
You can add your ICE contact (phone number etc.) to lockscreen by writing it in to the "owner information" -field, which can be found under lockscreen settings. No need for ICE-app.

I like to put Google Now widget on lockscreen.
HI Team,
Post Lollipop update on Indian N900, widgets (shortcut) icons are gone from the lock screen.
I tried doing deep diving in the setting but couldn't find one. Is there any way we can get the widgets on the lock screen.
If not all the widgets, even Phone / Whatsapp (any one widget) will do. Your help on this is highly appreciated.
Regards,
Naresh.
Ha ha, no, no way you can enable widgets on lockscreen, one of the very goodness of LP, wait till you find more.
Maybe third party lockscreen apps will support them, no idea.
Hi guys,
I had been scouring the internet looking for how to setup the stock lock screen on the ZF2 because I hated those 3 bubbles for camera, phone and messaging on the front screen and had no success.
Turns out there is a simple box you have to uncheck to get the stock lock screen working
Go to Settings>Lock screen> and uncheck "Quick access"
I feel really dumb because its been bothering me for more than a month now but I hope this helps anyone else who has this issue!
You can also change the apps that get accessed by clicking on "Quick access" instead of clicking the "on/off" switch.
so is it necessary to make a thread about this easy setting?
you can easily find all tips and tricks about zenfone 2 on YouTube, you can find many videos named "things you need to know after buying asus zenfone 2"., you can find many useful tips and tricks in this forum as well...
Freezing the ASUS weather app makes it even more like stock too. Shame you can't center the clock on the slide lockscreen.
With weather app frozen:
Edit: Actually, after rebooting this removes the clock from the lockscreen completely.
you can also delete "lockscreen" from /system/app. This will give you the real aosp lock screen

I tried to delete it but get "permission denied". If I freeze the ASUS lockscreen system app, I still get the same lockscreen anyway.

Fitst of all you need to be rooted, secondly you need to use a file manager like root explorer or root browser to mount rw, but freezing will result in the same thing anyway

I'm trying to freeze it, but I can't find it in Titanium Backup. Is there another app I can use to freeze it, or is it called something weird?

How does the AOSP lockscreen look? I did this on my old phone once, the lockscreen ended up not being worth it. (Buggy/frequent crashes when inputting PIN)

So I froze that, but my lockscreen didn't change, even after a reboot. I was hoping the lockscreen would be AOSP so that I can set 5 or 6 app shortcuts in there (via GravityBox). What am I doing wrong? Do I need to go into the file system and delete stuff?
With the ASUS lockscreen app frozen I get no change whatsoever in the appearance of the lockscreen (still has the off-centre ASUS Clock/Weather widget and swipe to unlock). With the weather app frozen I get a blank lockscreen with swipe to unlock.
i tried different lockscreens from playstore.for me hi locker is the best
Use hi locker its far better lockscreen than native lollipop or zen ui 's
