Hi
(apologize if i submitted my query at wrong place)
I am a new user of Samsung galaxy s4 i19505, recently purchased from a friend came from uk so it was sim locked. I tried to unlock it following the process described at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068 but remained unsuccessful, tried a few time more however, eventually lost sound (no sound at all) and wifi (wifi button does not turn on, immediately goes back to off position), laterly also done factory reset but with same result. Now i am in real trouble coz do not have enough knowledge of samsung smart phones, could anyone be so kind to guide me in detail about how can i get back sound and wifi on my mobile and try to unlock. a lot of thanks in advance. mobile specifications are as under:

[Q] Go Mobile ATT i437P Stock Firmware

Hi,
Purchased a Samsung Galaxy Express Go Mobile Pack today and attempted
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482874
Got it rooted fine, then installed 4.0.4 from Sammobile but the phone hangs on "Rethink possible white screen".
I can get it back to the recovery screen or the firmware update screen no worries but don't have the stock firmware 4.1.2 to return to.
Does anyone have any ideas for a fix, or a download source they would PM me so that I can return to the stock firmware?
Any help would be appreciated .
I have tried google but have only been able to find the non p firmwares.

Hi siewa26, thanks for the info. I tried to download and patch using the supplied file but it now just locks up on a white screen without the "rethink possible" logo. It still has the ATT logo, so I"m guessing it half worked.
I can still get to the downloader and the recovery bootloader...
I've tried booting with/without sims and SD Cards, still locks on the white screen.
Android System Recovery Version is <3e>
Download screen says the following:
OOIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I437 (I'm thinking if it worked this should say SGH-I437P?)
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (2 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
I got this phone while I was in the US on holidays and would love to keep using it now I'm in Australia, only had it for 2 weeks (ATT wanted 6 months of use before I could unlock, which is why I attempted it).

If you live near Toowoomba QLD in Australia and can help with this I'm prepared to pay $50 US for a working solution, same deal if anyone else can help remotely.

So after playing around I was able to install both CM10.1 and CM10.2 and get the phone working. Problem is trying to go back to 4.0.4 makes it freeze on startup again, which means I cannot unlock it, so I'm pretty much stuck with a phone I can't use anyway.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get an IMEI sim unlock code that would work with CM10.1 or CM10.2 installed?

Im a couple months late on this, but i had the same problem. Going into recovery mode and wiping both cache and doing a factory reset cleared the boot loops for me.

[Q]HELP Samsung S4 not starting

Hi guys,
First thanks for all your help in advance.
My mobile yesterday started to give me error "Not registered on the network" every time I tried to do a phone call. After google-it apparently this is a common problem on the Samsung devices and following a tutorial on the link bellow I was able to root my mobile phone without any problem and following the tutorial on idroidspace I was able to try all the solutions as suggested
As a first option they told me to try using ARIZA patch, but when I ran it says that my model is not compatible. As second option they advice me to flash my modem, I have follow all the instructions but didn't work as well, I was still receiving the error when I tried to do a phone call.
Today I was looking to find the stock firmware (ROM) for my Samsung thinking that a reinstallation could work to solve the error, but after I installed the Kernel file using ODIN v3.07 my mobile is now saying "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" message and after that is not showing any image on the screen
I'm trying to turn my mobile using recovery mode but the same message shows up and the mobile is not turning on...I'm only able to turn the mobile on using the download mode...and ODIN is still detecting it
My Mobile is a Samsung S4 GT-I9505 XXUBMEA unlocked to all the networks from UK
Can you guys please help me? I probably have destroyed the phone already and seek for help to late. But can you guys help me?
Thanks

You need to go to http://www.SamMobile.com and download the newest official stock
i9505 Odin flash firmware/rom and flash it.
Here is the firmware you need:
GT-I9505 United Kingdom (EE) 2013 November 4.3 I9505XXUEMJ8 I9505EVREMJ2
This is the latest official stock samsung jellybean 4.3 firmware for your phone.
This is the stock official firmware for your country and for your phone so it's NOT rooted.
You will have to create a new user account at SamMobile.com but it takes only a minute.
Good luck!
I'm downloading it now.
To install it I will need to use ODIN, right? Click on the button PDA and select the right? Just in case and for double checking
Also, do you think this will solve the error with the phone calls? And should I worry about the kernel message on the startup?
Thanks
is it possible to get root and recovery on these roms? no point if cant..............do i need downgrade then root and recovery?
yes. that is possible as that you will change knox warranty void to 0x1 i think.
hi guys,
I have managed to install the suggested firmware and now the mobile is turning on and I have the recovery mode back as well. The only problem is now the Wi-Fi doesn't work and the error is still there everytime that I try to do a phone call.
There is any suggestions? Do you guys think if I use a custom firmware instead of the stock one the problems will go away? Do you guys recommend any firmware for my device?
Open for any suggestions as I really don't know what can I do more...
Thanks
Hi guys,
I was just on the phone with Samsung support and they actually told me to look for an answer in the forums, and I will be surprised how much information can I find out here...
I'm writing a complain at the moment as the phone is not even 6 months old and I really don't know what to do to fix it
Any suggestion from your guys? I'm really out of options at the moment
Thanks,

[Q] Help! ATT S4 SGH I337 KitKat 4.4.2 : Unlocked and No Wifi - Bad Blue tooth

I have probably tried something with my phone way beyond my abilities (Unlocking my phone!!). My wifi is stuck and my bluetooth not working well. I have tried to fix the problem myself, without any success so far. I am tired of trying and getting I hope you could help me. :fingers-crossed:
See below the description of my problem. if you need more information, let me know.
Thanks for trying,
Kierskia
1- bought a AT&T Samsung S4 SGH-I337, OS Kit Kat 4.4.2 in May 2014
2- unlock it successfully and it worked well for a while.
3- Then the Wifi stopped working (Turn on button is "stuck" with a greyish green color!) and the bluetooth has since not worked well (short silent every 20 sec or so)
4- Just realized today that my phone doesn't show the IMEI number anymore... I read this is BAD. but apart from the wifi and bluetooth, the phone works just fine.
4- Reset the goddamn phone several time using the Kies software (samsung). Each time after rebooting, the wifi worked again for a while; but it systematically stopped working after few days (up to 1 week ).
5- I have tried:
- update/reinstallation software using Kies software: fail
- Root it: can't find the proper software to do it that is supported by my phone
- Use cyanogenmod: my device isn't supported.
- Use At&t website to update the software. not working
- getting my IMEI back: the process gets hairy.
-....
I really appreciate what you guys do.

Use super su, and un-root your phone with the option for un-root. Or just flash stock rom that's match your model.
I apologize but I have tried to give supersu superuser status although supersu would have those permissions from kingroot, it could not update it's binaries. When I did a full unroot with kingroot, my phone still was not allowed to receive over the air updates via wifi. About flashing a stock Rom I can reroot with kingroot but I cannot locate any stock Rom for this phone. I did a lot of research trying to find one. Can you please advise to as to where to go so that I can locate the stock Rom? Thank you.

Getting the stock firmware
I have searched that particular location and my model is SM-G530AZ and it's not found in that directory. I am at a checkmate. Unless I can use a firmware from one of the Grand Prime phones with a similar model but that to me does not make too much sense... Or maybe it does. But regarding my particular model it doesn't exist (or so it seems. Can one please come up with a solution? Flashing the Rom is the only option at this point so need download stock. Thanx everyone. ?.

Since your model is a dual with lte i guess you can use the 530h firmware. but i'm not sure.
My Model's Definite Firmware
Thank you very much for that info. But its not a definite so I wouldn't go ahead with it. I find it very interesting that for every other model of the Grand Prime there is a definete stock software available for the user. But when it comes to mine there isn't. So if anyone can possibly find it I'll be so happy.

I am facing the same challenge with my G530AZ model aswell. I am not even able to see my Network mode menu to change after realizing my device can not receive 3G signal only Edge. I located this menu after rooting to unlock my phone however it has completely vanished as I may put it. Any news on a compatible stock rom will be appreciated aswell.
Solution for reverting phone fully into stock (SM-G530AZ) & any other Samsung
I wasn't going to let Samsung Customer Service get away with not be able to give me info on how to get the code for emergency recovery mode using Samsung Kies. I got the Samsung Rep to tell me how to get the code in Kies all the time (in emergency recovery mode). Have the usb plugged in first without the phone connected to it. Then hold down the volume down key on your phone when it's OFF and after the volume down key is being held down, connect your phone to the USB while the Samsung Kies program is running. The code should show in Kies after that. Then go to the tools selection in Kies and click on the Recovery Mode option and you follow the further instructions. I didn't try this yet but I will very soon. I wrote this right after I got off the phone from the Samsung Rep. I really hope that this is a true method that works. If yes, cheers to all!
Sorry, can't be so trusting with Customer Service Rep of Samsung
I apologize for my previous post in a way. Well first of all this model SM-G530AZ (my model) isn't compatable with Kies as in that I got a message from Kies saying that. Therefore there was no way for me to know that the holding of the volume down method will generate the code for the emergency software reflash on this model. Finally, if that Rep was able to make that mistake I doubt whether it works for phones that are compatable with Kies.

Any luck on flashing the sm-g530az. I try most of the firmware from sammobile. But no luck. And, sm-g5630az firmware is not in Sam Moblie.
Only solutions I can think of...
Earlier in this forum a member said that you can possibly use the 530h firmware, being that they are basically the same firmware as ours although he said he's not totally sure. If Kies 3 and the newer version of Kies (the name slipped my mind, but the message pops up anytime one installs Kies 3 asking if you want to download it) don't work because a message comes up saying that the phone doesn't support initializing, maybe what that member said is the only possible option for right now. But now I'm thinking that you can do anything to your phone which will be "normal" looking as far as for the things which the customer service reps look for see if the phone was tampered with which voids the warranty, in a repair center they can wipe all from the phone and put stock software. But the issue with that may be that the binaries that are on you phone now may cause your phone to get bricked being that their software uses different binaries. This is when they plug it in by them the phone need to load to 100% and if it stops in middle the phone is bricked. So they told me that there is that risk. If you can fool them into trying to do that flashing process on your phone because they seem to think that the warrantee is intact and it doesn't get bricked, you are good to go (I visited a Samsung repair center and found this out being that I had issues with them). But in your case that may or may not be possible . Good luck.
Your instructions were slightly off. Here's what worked.
1) install KIES 3. DO NOT PLUG IN PHONE
2) go to tools -> firmware upgrade and initialisation in KIES
3) device id = SM-G530AZ ; serial number is under battery
4) allow KIES to download the firmware
5) place phone in ODIN mode/Emergency Download Mode (hold VOL DWN and HOME while powering on ) then plug in phone to computer via USB
6) allow KIES to send image to phone. Have some ice cream and egg rolls and do not touch anything.
7) PROFIT! After the phone restarts, it will take you through initial set up (like when you bought it)
YOU WIN!! Even the Mobile Data is Set-up Already!

try again following those directions thoroughly, just worked for me earlier today, make sure you're on a good internet connection, and don't plug in the phone (which will be in download mode) until you absolutely have to. hope all goes well.

Only able to see odin mode (download mode) ..so i did some research and could not find sm-g530az firmware anywhere for download. So i went to cricket they told me my phone is no good i had to get another one. I was furious ..but didnt give up since im pretty mobile phone and computer savvy. I still did some research found this thread and downloaded kies 3 .it did not recognize my phone for connection ..so i downloaded kies 2.6 and kies lite.
It just kept saying connecting ..so i then followed ur steps above and it brought my phone back to life ..crazy how cricket and even samsun themselves did not know what to do as i was on the phone with both of them ..they told me my phone is no longer good ..smh ...anyways thank you sooo much ..saved me about $150.

ODIN firmware flash fail - UK EE

Hi there,
Long story short, I purchased a used S8 from someone on FB but when I got home it had the FRP reset lock on it. Instead of asking for the password and email (have since given), which I thought would be too rude, I decided to try and fix it myself.
Decided to follow a tutorial, which told me to flash the 7.0 firmware for the device (running on Android 7, not 8) in order to remove this. Unfortunately, the firmware flash failed on ODIN and I'm unable to recover the device using SmartSwitch. I just get the "an error has occurred while updating" message when trying to boot the phone, but that doesn't prevent me accessing download mode.
DEVICE DETAILS: S8, locked to EE network (UK), G950F. OEM lock and USB debugging were enabled. I've tried the latest Android 7 firmware on Sammobile, would flashing the BTU firmware or Android 8 work? Pretty sure the phone is the SS version, if that helps at all.
Does anyone have any tips on what I could do? Much appreciated.
Thanks.

This guy was helpful at every step of the way, well done and thanks again. Honestly, at first glance I thought it was too good to be true but I can now use my new phone again thanks to him. Professionally done.
