I think I rooted, how can I tell?

I followed 42turkeys' excellent How To Root and everything seemed to work as it should. I then used the ROM and root updates from andrewb84uk and they went on OK with no apparent problems. Andrewb84uk has since seemed to lose faith in his own ROMs, although other users, like me, are happy with what he's done. My phone seemed to be working fine, I can boot into recovery mode, and I really like some of the new features on 2.1.
So, my question is this; how can I tell that the root worked OK? I never really investigated the OS too much when it was running 1.5, so I'm not sure I'd spot too many of the subtle differences. Also, it is an updated OS, so any change I see may simply be an update rather than the result of root.
Does simply the fact that I can boot in recovery mode confirm that root is successful?

Go to the android market and type in Screenshot in search...
Download the app and see if it works...
If it does your rooted!
It it doesn't your not rooted!

[Q] emoticons change After Kitkat update

hello
i've updated my Note 3 to kitkat and i proceeded further to install OMEGA Rom V7.0
I noticed that samsung replaced the emoticons everywhere with its own..which is annoying

this screenshot showing that i'm already using it ... and the emoticons are replaced in it as well

is There Any update ??? i use google keyboard and i want to use the stock emoji that comes with it instead of samsung's "they're terrible"

I honestly thought i was the only one having this issue. I still can't figure it out even after flashing to stock and receiving another update for my SM-N900 there is no change.

I was pretty annoyed with this too (still am). I did find a solution to that but it requires root. Take a look here and try on your own: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618523

I've tried to update OTA by checking myself on the phone but no luck.
can I update myself by kies? I don't wanna lose all my settings and data.

You know if everyone who didnt get the update made a thread we would be seeing over a hundred threads

actually I did search before I post as always.
The reason why i posted is that i just wanna know whether anyone who using same build as me didnt get OTA update yet.
and i dont wanna flash by ODIN. I just want OTA Update.

Actually it's been a while im not on Kitkat but have you followed typical procedures? Unfreezing apps, restarting phone, checking your mods, etc. The answer is probably "what you did before you start to get the error". Can you give detailed information about these things? Then Doc may help you if it's a rom based fault.

New flashing rom everything from wipe cache and data other thing not work I used celesiko rom there was no problem

I googled your problem, do you have a chance to back up with titaniumbackup and make a factory reset?

Might be late to the party but I had crash issues after a fresh install.
Seemed to be an issue with how rom is flashed using twrp.
Did you use cwm or twrp?

You probably freezed the NFC - unfreeze it and issue is solved

You have freezed or uninstalled some stock apps please reinstall or unfreeze the same and you will be fine

You need EMUI 5.x Android Nougat on your device... if you want to use my TWRP in order to flash LineageOS on your device !
EDIT:
And not all EMUI Firmware can be flashed via TWRP, only some of them !

However, Emui5.0 & Android 7.0 versions were not selected at the time.
I want to delete the system to recharge the phone, but now I can’t delete the system.

It's not a big deal, just ignore this error ... your device it's WiFi Only, that's why you have this issue ! The TWRP it's only one for the both devices WIFI & LTE !
