Return For warranty Replacement - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
I have a rooted phone with safestrap installed and using hyperDrive rom ( Awesome rom by the way). I need to send the phone back to verizon for warranty replacement. Do i just odin the phone back to stock using stock file and that should remove root and install stock recovery ? Or is there other method to do that ?
Thanks for you help

One question before I root.

On every device I've owned so far I wait for a method to fully unroot the device is out just in case.
That being said, is there a method to fully unroot and reset the flash counter (similar to the note 2) to 0 or for it not to show that a custom rom/recovery has been flashed?

Yes there are a few ways. You could install the complete stock tar which will wipe everything out including data. You could uninstall root using supersu and Odin the stock recovery. You could install team sextapes full stock with no data wipe to go back to stock without losing data. That is a few but there is more.

Hmm so after those methods it wouldn't show up as if I ever flashed anything in download mode?
I ask because in case anything happens to my device and I need to exchange it

Correct. Odin is the easiest option. And since you would be exchanging it the full stock tar with data wipe is perfect. Just make a backup first.

[Q] Re-Flashing stock rom on rooted device

I have a rooted N900 running stock rom, I want to reflash the stock rom, the question is; do I have to unroot first? Or I can flash it right without unrooting
I'm not concerned about warranty and reseting flash binary, I just want to get a clean stock rom again

[Q] Help with Unroot?

Hello, all
I am not new to (browsing) the forum, but I have a new account.
I have a question of unrooting the Sprint SGS4.
The phone has stock ROM, Kernel, and Recovery. The only thing that has been changed was rooting it.
Now, I want to unroot.
Can I unroot by doing a hard reset in recovery?
Or must I go the Odin way and flash stock unrooted ROM?
Thanks,
DEOXiDATiON
You must Odin , and that is all you have to do.

[Q] seandriod enforcing

hello..
i got note 3 sm n9005 (uk model),i tried to root my phone odin says pass, but it wont go to recovery mode it restarts and stuck on screen saying recovery is not seandroid enforcing" in red and another in yellow saying" set warranty bit.it wont let me root my phone,,,pls help me with this
thanks
That means you have succesfully put a custom recovery on your phone via odin. Stock wont show anything, but anything other than stock, that will show. I can only assume your on JB(4.3) still and have flashed a recovery for KK(4.4)
Im from the uk too, using chenglus 11/21 recovery on my jb rom.

Make sure you are using the right cf auto root file. One is for 4.4 and the other is for 4.3.
edit: didn't read it completely, what did you use to root your phone?

I've never used cf auto root. To root my first rom ( stock rom) i just flashed a custom recovery, and then flashed a superuser zip inside cwm

Did that worked? As far as I know to flash a custom recovery you have to be rooted first.

Yes works fine. Have done it a few times on the n9005, and many times on other devices. You don't even need a rom to flash a custom recovery, or stock recovery for that matter.

When I first got mine it will not flash cwm without rooting it first but mine was N900W8 so might be different situation.

Return to Stock from CM 11 4.4

Hi everyone,
Do you know if it is possible to return back to the stock rom if I am currently on TWRM recovery running CM11 4.4 rom? All my apps keep constantly crashing and I am having issues with my text messages not going through. I found the rom for 4.2.2 but I am unsure if its possible without messing up phone. How would one even do this? Thank you again!
Yes you can return to.it.with odin. For stock unrooted.

So I can literally just plug my phone in and flash the stock rom to my phone right? If so, thats great !
If stock unrooted is what you're going for, yes. You will have to grab the 4.2.2 tar and odin it. Back up anything important because if after running Odin successfully, and the phone boots up but hangs on sprint splash screen. You will have to perform a factory reset.
