[Q] Where did all the stocklike roms go?? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have been looking for a samsung like rom, there were tons of them available now it's all stock google 4.4 and some 4.3, I just want real stability, unfortunately this is android indeed, and I understand that stability is not something to look for, but I have been with android all my life and the stock rom for my s4 was extremely stable, I am just looking now for one like that but I cannot find anymore. Right when the phone came out there were tons of ROMS off of the samsung stock (deoxed and such) now its all stock google, where can I find really a really stable ROM for my i337m s4, been looking for weeks, nothing cuts the cake, sorry for english, not first language, and thanks for anyone who help me!

Many of the ROMs located in the android development subforum will be based on the stock firmwares. These include ROMs such SD GoldenEye, Graviton, Hyperdrive, etc.

[Q] ROM Help

Hi guys, I have been looking in the Android development part of the forum for a week now and I need help in finding the ROM suitable for me. I have flashed about eight roms in the past week and i can't find the 'one'
I need your help
I'm looking for a ROM that looks like a nexus device (UI), I have tried the Google Edition but it was too laggy, but I want to be able to customise the device fully with pre-built settings like CyanogenMod or ProBAM. For example, I don't like the stock messaging app on the Google Edition ROMS, I actually prefer the TW layout, and so it would be nice to customise that. I also want a ROM that doesn't take up too much storage, so I am future proofed, and finally I want a ROM that has good battery life.
I like the look of CyanogenMod but there aren't any stable releases and there are only nighty builds, which I'm apprehensive about, because my phone is my daily driver. I'm also confused about people saying get CyanogenMod 10.2 instead of 10.1, but when I go to the Wiki page, there is no mention of 10.1 or 10.2...?
it would be great if someone could help me

[Q] Update my i9505 to EchoeRom 14.1

Hi guys
Before reading, i would like to apologize for my bad english. I'm an italian guy and this is the best I can do ^^
It's the first time I participate to the life of this great forum, and I would like to warn you that, although I have read many articles, I'm pretty noob about modding :/
Well, I start to say that at the moment I've installed a nightly Carbon Rom 4.3.1 on my i9505. It's a rly nice mod, but the fact that is based on "pure" Android makes it a little boring. To be clear, I think that TouchWiz is a more practical and intuitive interface, and so I would like to get back on a rom that he used.
I also saw OmegaRom, but Echoe seems to me very beautiful. I've noticed that is based on an unofficial samsung firmware, so I would like to know from you users if it's suggested to switch from my current rom to this one. Or is it better to wait the release of new roms 4.4.2 based on an official samsung firmware ...
So, what do you think about Echoe 14.1? Did u found bugs or problems? Are you satisfied?
Apologize for all these questions, but I would like to have certainties before changing rom ^^
PS: fell free to report me all the grammars errors, don't be too kind with me XD

Advice for a good, stable and light Rom?

Hello.
It's the fist time I'm gonna flash a modded Rom cause after a year the phone its staring to do weird things. I'm still at 4.3 Jellybean.
My phone is rooted with stock TouchWiz.
The less wissles and options the better. I don't use the S-pen and would like to have a simple and battery friendly Rom with a good camera app.
Also I'm worry for the sdcard problems i read everywhere and stability.
I guess a Rom with 4.4.4 is better than 4.4.2 but in this so not sure.
What Rom do you recommend?
Thank you!
first you need to choice if you want TW or CM rom...
if TW you need to upgrade bootloader and flash stock KK rom and root and flash custom...
if CM11 no need to upgrade KK and you can flash what you want
for CM12 you need KK bootloader too
Thank you for quick answer.
I read that Cyanogenmod Roms are not optimized and made for Note 3.
Is there a Rom made specifically for N9005 with the features I posted?
1. Go to the Note 3 Android development subforum.
2. Read about the different ROMs.
3. Decide which one you want to try.
4. Flash it.
5. Repeat as necessary.
There are no short cuts. Do the research yourself, only you know if you'll be happy with your choice.
Ok thank you.
Will all the Kitkat based Roms have issues with the Sdcard I read I forums?
I recommend to you the rom which made by Alexander.. And omega rom as a second choice.. Good luck

please, i have this rom
[ROM][N9005] Galaxy S5 Stock ROM - Final v40.0 - Clean, Fast and Stable - [OTA]
have i already in kk bootloader? or not sure? how can i check?
thanks
I'm trying to find Alexander Rom you suggested but i cant find it in the forum. (I'm new with all this about roms).
What is the name of Alexander's Rom?
Well you can use stock ROM, and uninstall all the nonsense apps with any root supported uninstall app, but you still will be forced to have those S related features, S-Scroll, S-Stay and all those nonsense features (which I never have used, ever). Now if you AOSP way then you won't have all those things and you will have a clean ROM but you will miss the lovely S-Pen integration of TouchWiz based ROMs.
So you have to decide according to your preference. I don't believe that AOSP/CM based ROMs are 100% bug free for Note 3, but please correct me if I am wrong. I am an AOSP lover too.
And I also don't believe 4.4.4 has much advantage over 4.4.2 other than some security patches.

Which stable but speedy and debloated ROM for gf?

Hello everyone,
I personally never owned a Samsung device (always Nexus and mostly with Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns ROM) but my girlfriend has one and she defeniately needs it to be flashed :good:
As I am completely new to Samsung devices, I have no idea about all the developers and different ROMs that are out there for the Samsung Note 4 (Snapdragon).
I don't have much time to try around with different ROMs as it isn't my phone.
I need one that is good, stable, fast (and also supports the stylus / samsung apps). So I can flash it quickly and have a happy girlfriend
So that is the reason I an asking in the first place. Else I would just flash around and keep trying until I find the best fit.
I saw CM is officially supporting the Note 4. So that one might be a good solution. But does it have all those stylus samsung stuff?
Any other ROMs I should check out?
Do I need to flash a new radio?
Thanks in advance and sorry for posting another "which ROM" thread. But I can't really test around to find out on my own as it is not my device that I am going to improve !
If n910g, this is highly recommended, although you have to disable or uninstall later all apps that you don't want if you want a debloated rom.

It is N910F.
The link you provided is simply stock android MM?
Yes stock MM, stock is in my experience the most stable and bug free rom build. But the link is for n910g unfortunately.
Stock ROM, and then debloat yourself. Quite honestly speaking, and no offence to anyone, there are no good ROMs available for Note 4. In fact I myself might have not got the phone if I realised the development section is like this. And I am not interested in ported ROMs, so even though there are many available I won't go that way, and I am too dumb to make a ROM for myself, so stock ROM it is.
I agree, stock rom rooted and debloat it, and apply msm tweaks. If you want, xposed as well.

You must flash samsung based rom to have all soen features and samsung apps. I reconnemed kurama rom which in using , its battery friendly, fast and stock based. If you going to flash kurama rom you must flash modem and bootloader for the rom to boot up (only can be flashed from pc with odin)

Performance with Custom ROM Oreo/Nougat vs Stock Lollipop on S4?

Hello guys,
Sorry if this has been asked many times before. I'm really curious about the performance of Nougat or Oreo using a Custom ROM versus the stock Lollipop on an S4 I9505.
Do the Custom ROMS of Nougat/Oreo really improve the performance on an I9505 compared to the stock Lollipop? How about the battery?
Really looking forward to answers regarding this.
Anyone who knows this or could test this out of me?
Everyone has different needs whereby one custom ROM may be perfect for one person and a stock ROM is perfect for another person.
I highly recommend reading through the custom ROM forum, selecting a few to try, and using it over a few days with your most-used apps.

Thanks for your answer. Is there a specific custom ROM with Oreo/Nougat that you might have in mind when it comes to performance?
Unfortunately, I can't provide any recommendations since I haven't had a working s4 for a months.
