[Q] 1337m jfltcan running a tmobile rom? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello all,
My favorite developer has released his kitkat rom for the t-mobile version of the s4.
Is my understanding correct, that we can run a tmobile rom, by simply flashing an appropriate kernel and radio after flashing the tmobile rom?
If so, can anyone link me to a canadian kernel? Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see any kernels specifically for Canadians...
Thanks so much in advance!
*edit* I've been scouring the forums for Canadian Kernels. But I am just finding more confusion.
Ktoonsez has kernels. His posts tell Canadian users to flash his T-mobile kernels. I have found:
KT-SGS4-KK4.4-AOSP-TMO-12.21.2013.zip
and
KT-SGS4-KK4.4-TWGE-INTL-12.22.2013.zip
Faux has kernels, but tells Canadian to flash his ATT versions:
jflteatt-aosp-faux123-013m.zip and jflteatt-aosp-faux123-013u.zip
and
jflteatt-faux123-012m-MGA.zip and jflteatt-faux123-012u-MGA.zip
So I'm really not sure which way to go... Ktoonsez T-mobile kernels or Faux ATT kernels.... I also downloaded odin flashable MK6 modems just in case...
Any thoughts? Thanks!

[Q] Foxhound ROM for GS4

New user here, tried to post a question on the original ROM thread but I don't have that access due to being a new user.
Had a question regarding Foxhound ROM for GT-I9505, it is flashable and fully functional on T-Mobile phones since I have did it on mine.
The ROM:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303239
So...
-Since I have flashed this ROM, my model of my phone changed from "SGH-M919" to ----> "GT-I9505"
-Due to flashing an AT&T Rom, I have lost my T-Mobile Wifi calling feature.
Question:
Is there any way to extract that feature out of a stock T-Mobile Rom and somehow incorporate that into this rom?
Thanks.

No lte on rogers galaxy s4

Hello I am pretty new to the whole android rooting/ROM world.
I flashed the Golden Eye ROM and everything works great except the lte. I only get the hspa+ for some reason. Do I need to find a different radio?
I attached a screenshot.
Thanks
I've got Rogers SGH-I337M as well, but with a kernel of:
3.4.0-talexop-1.3+
And seem to be getting 4G...
Maybe the kernel needs to be different?
Did you flash the kernel from the 'For Canadian i337M users, how to install GE13/14' instructions? I didn't... I just flashed the ROM and then the 'Fix & BuildProp' fix...

I have asked about issues with the other roms not working. I lost calling, texting, and could only use wifi with all roms. I also had to remove the SD card prior to the phone allowing me to activate after flashing back to "stock."
I have not found one that works. I tried Phoenix and Alliance roms at first and was tired of flashing back to stock. You CAN use xposed framework and I have used kernels like Blaze. That is about all I've been able to find. You can find dedicated US cellular forums BUT you won't find much there unless something changed in the last day or two. Nobody would answer my questions about why their roms would not work and possibly how to get them to work Sorry, this is about all you'll find. I had a few issues and my threads were also deleted

I have unlocked every USC phone I've ever had...there's plenty of devolopment out there for USC phones. I haven't seen anything other than custom kernels yet for G900R4 though.

There aren't a lot of USC users here so we don't know much about your system. In the past, USC has locked their bootloaders and that is the key reason that you don't see much custom ROM development.
Also, USC (along with Sprint, Verizon) still use CDMA while the rest of the world is using GSM. That basic incompatibility also deters wider development.
Have a look at the Safestrap thread in the Verizon S5 forum. Safestrap is an app for loading an emulated custom ROM + recovery and can probably be used for USC as well.

Does anyone know of a kernel that has SELinux set to permissive that will work? That's honestly the last thing I need. I wanted a bootloader unlocked phone that ran off CDMA so I can use it where I live so US Cellular seemed to be the solution.
US Cellular confirmed that the R4 has a unlocked bootloader. I am running a stock deoxed/debloated touchwiz. I am super surprised and disappointed that there hasn't been more interest and development for this phone. I am so tempted to trade it for a different.

I'm running a g900r4, (klteusc) as well. What rom are you using? I've been all over the gs5 unified and initial developments sections, and am currently using the cm11 unified while waiting for the slim rom unified. I'd gladly prefer a bloat free touch wiz though it seems the stock based roms are exclusive to g900f and the like.

You guys want this http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/forum/411-galaxy-s5-romskernelsmods/
CM11, kernel w/o SELinux Enforcing, other goodies.
Head over to teamuscellular.com/forum and you should find a few available options to try. Including stock deodexed ncf ROM(touch wiz). And other custom Roms ported to USC. Like "cm 12 lollipop alpha." Looks good but no customization. As well as all stock Odin flashable zips. Some others like alliance and beanstalk have been ported, haven't tried those though. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

[Q] Telus S5 kitkat->lollipop keping root

I have a Canadian Telus Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8) that is currently rooted and on kitkat
I'm unsure what firmwares are compatible with the W8 model number, but i think i read somewhere that firmware for F models will work too?
What would be the best way to get lollipop on this device, keeping root?

You can flash almost any ROM provided you flash a kernel that supports your model if it already isn't by the dev making the ROM. You may have to update your BL and CS depending on what you want to flash. The T- Mobile/ International/or unified section can be used provided there is support within the ROM or you can flash a kernel such as KT. I have a W8 and am using CyanideL with KT kernel and F2FS BOC1 bootloader amd modem and the phone is stupid fast. All KLTE ROMs can be used without having to flash a separate kernel unless you want to.
