I want to precise for ones who have the "temporarily avoiding poor connection", you have just to disable it in the WiFi settings. For me, it works perfectly for the Wifi.

Hi @chriscx
Long time no see, is that right? You've been here a long time if I'm correct (in the days of TripNRaver).
You can enter CWM with volume up or down. On FeraKernel you can also use back button to enter CWM (xRecovery is not included; He implemented ity oncce, but people didn't seem to appreciate).
Don't know if Achotjan made back button to work also.
I've reads somewehere that you can avoid the bootloop by installing ROM after flashing kernel, instead of switching kernel on existing ROM. Maybe worth a shot.
Best regards,
UltimateGeppie

Yeah, it's been a while, one year that I didn^t flash any roms for the x10. I've got a S III.
I cannot enter into cwm, I see a white led then kernel loops.
thanks buddy

@Ultimategeppie is correct.
Download the ROM.zip to your XPERIA X10i micro SD card.
Power off the phone.
Flash the Kernel using flashtool from a PC and then boot the Kernel and use the volume up button to enter CWM recovery when the notification LED flashes.
Clear /data, /cache and dalvik cache.
Using CWM recovery install the ROM.zip from your Micro SD card.
Now re-boot the phone and enjoy.
[update]
Using Achotjan's SDE Kernel I note that you can use volume up/down and the back button to enter CWM recovery v6.0.2.8.
If you're testing and already have a preferred ROM/Kernel which you want to return to, I suggest a CWM backup prior to installing Achotjan's SDE.
When and if you want to return to your old ROM/Kernel after testing, then just install your old Kernel, which normally includes CWM recovery and perform a restore.
i wish you all the best for 2014!
I'm downloading, will test tomorrow, thanks all
edit: ok still wlod with kernel (no color led flashes). In flashtool: with feralab kernel I may exclude kernel and baseband, with this kernel I have only choice: kernel (to exclude), why ? my baseband is 2.1.71 by the way
Just a few oddities I've noted which may have a simple answer.
[1]
When charging the battery, it approaches approx 98% and then starts to 'beep'.
It seems there is an over-volt warning.(My guess)
The reason I think that, is I saw a setting somewhere, that had over-volt warning and it was ticked.
At the time I thought, "Wow" these settings are getting pretty intense, but I'll leave this as is for now.
Now for the love of Mike, I can not find where I saw the battery Over-volt warning setting, or even if it was in this ROM.
Anyone else have any cunning thoughts on why a battery in is final stages of being charged would start to 'beep' and how to stop it.
I am using a Sony DK10 media dock to charge the battery, so it's not if I'm using some weird high-voltage/Amp charger and in the past on other ROMs, it's never started 'Beeping' like this before.
Answer: ????
[2]
Is anyone using a WiFi setting "Never keep WiFi on during sleep"?
I note WiFi does indeed 'disconnect' when the screen is off, however it never re-connects when the screen comes back on again.
You have to toggle WiFi off and on to re-establish a connect again.
My WiFi has a very good signal and no channel congestion (Channel 13 20MHz).
I'm using a one week DHCP lease.
I'm also using my own local DNS server, so I'll also continue to look for supporting options.
I already have the DHCP host MAC address mapped to DNS name
On other GB and JB ROMs for the XPERIA X10i, I have seen a much higher rate of re-connection in the above scenario, than I'm currently seeing with SOMC ROM.
Answer: ????
At this time I have found what may be the answer to my Wi-Fi re-connection problem.
Settings ► Power Management ► Location-based Wi-Fi ◙
Since I have enabled the setting I have not had to manually re-connect to my Wi-Fi AP.
Once the WiFi connection did disconnect, it didn't reconnect again, so I'm back to square one.
Still have a Wi-Fi re-connection issue.
Still laggy and cant be used as daily rom

After flashing the kernel ( Without the the final verification )
dun keep pressing the back button press awhile and wait until there is a vibration or you see the blue light then you press the back button . This should work .

I'm using the ROM(RC3) and Kernel(v4) as a daily and it's doing a pretty good job.
I've gutted the /system/app folder down to 100 files.
This removes a few service apps and with SetCPU providing the CPU control one is pretty good to go.
I have over 45 applications installed some of which are service applications.
I get good GUI response and if you leave the system to it's own devices, it's observed to cache a monster amount of processes.
You can easily switch between a 'few' applications without being worried any one application is going to have to be restarted, due to low system resources.
As a good JB 4.1.2 custodian you can long-press home and manually swipe away cached applications no longer required in the near to long term which frees up a small amount of resources.
Anything above GB 2.3 is going to be a tradeoff between resources and performance and it's just a matter of finding that happy medium as development progresses.
With future updates and refinement, I'm expecting to see improvements in 2D and 3D graphics as well as other enhancements.
So if it's good now, it'll only get better as improvements are made.
miui-kernel?
hi there @Achotjan
would it be possible to make a version of your new kernel that is compatible with miui-jb?
Would be great:good:
Cheers!
I'm following this thread since the first post and I can notice progress from RC to RC3. I note too a crash of eco controller when I add apps to ignore on Stamina mode. I use it daily since 2 weeks now and it's fast, for me, with 1500mHz FeraKernel

as it was said in dev thread, it needed to wipe older kernel before flashing the new one, thanks a lot.
the rom works pretty good, only settings menu, after a while, I see main page settings in two columns with sub-pages.
and dual-touch is not very responsive
probably Achtojan knows these issues.
And question: who tested OC ? which limits or best settings for stability and performance both ?

OC is hardware dependent. Every device should run 998mhz, and many of them can Handel higher rates. Mine goes to1190. Some even go to 1228. A higher freq means higher voltage an battery drain. Set it up to suit your needs.

CPU managed by SetCPU (In my case)
Operational
Max Frequency: 1113MHz
Min Frequency: 245MHz
Governor: SmartAssH3(SmartAssv2)
Scheduler: CFQ
Screen off
Max Frequency: 537MHz
Min Frequency: 192MHz
Governor: Powersave
Scheduler: CFQ
Just remember when using "Screen Off" profiles, you will/may impact the likes of music players and file I/O services which still operate with screen off.
In this case you'll need other profiles to retain stability/service(s).
Also be aware some phones can not recover from deep sleep if the clock frequency is set to low.
In highly intense CPU oriented tasks on some XPERIA X10i phones you can operate at 1228MHz.
At 1228MHz problems will rapidly escalate as soon as your tasks become GPU orientated.
This will very quickly become a WLOD and then end in tears.
On old and 'stable' ROM/Kernel combinations like DoomKernel v6 and X10S v9 ROM one can run AnTuTu at 1228MHz
However on most other ROM/Kernel this will just crash the phone.
Achotjan's SDE ROM/Kernel can run benchmarks like GeekBench2 at 1228MHz
GeekBench2 is a CPU specific benchmark.
However, the likes of AnTuTu and 3Dmark only become stable at clock frequencies of 1190MHz and lower.
This could change as future releases/updates improve the performance/stability of 2D and 3D graphics.
As @Ultimategeppie has stated, everyone's experiences will differ due to hardware and phone stability.
I got lucky and have a pretty good chipset.
Model: XPERIA X10i
ROM: SDE v1.0 RC3
Kernel: SDE v4.0
Max Freq: 1228MHz
Min Freq: 245MHz
Gov: Performance
IO: Deadline
AnTuTu Score: 5840
Alright, now we've got this puppy singing.
Was wondering why I was having problems with graphics.
I had Development Options Force GPU set.
Disabled it and now the XPERIA X10i is going off like a frog in a sock.
I have also set build.prop swapinterval back to 1
I am able to get AnTuTu scores over 5750 on demand.
2D Graphics is still on 50FPS with swapinterval=1
3D Graphics return 11.2FPS on NenaMark2
Achotjan's Somc Debrand Engine Project is producing a veritable string of firsts as this is the highest AnTuTu score I've obtained on an XPERIA X10i and may be one of the highest ever overall.
Thanks Dr Goodvibes, much better, smooth

existz for the kernel
This ROM has been tested by me for several days now and works awesome from my testing.
Installation:
Copy the zip to your sdcard, reboot into recovery, and flash! The updater script should take care of all needed wiping, so unless you have a lagfix that isn't supported by SuckerPunch, you shouldn't have to do anything but flash. If you're on a stock ROM with 3e recovery, please read this.
Note: I'm not sure if the lagfix and tweaks are enabled by default, so after installing go into recovery and check. If they're not, enable the recommended tweaks and enable the lagfix if so desired! If you're coming from stock let me know what happens so I can update this section.
Also, if you experience charge death please read the kernel thread.
Warning: Just like every other ROM, you flash at your own risk. If my ROM somehow blows up your phone, makes your phone do a flying dragon kick to your face, or makes your girlfriend leave you for me, I will not be held responsible.

If you want bluetooth calling support you unfortunately have to use the stock kernel and modem for the moment, however you can still have voodoo! Just flash this, courtesy of s44.
I gotta try this tonight! thanks!!
by the way I should disable voodoo first before flashing if im coming from cognition correct?

I find battery life to be similar to just about every other ROM out there. The most important factor in battery life is the kernel, and when undervolted SuckerPunch is fantastic on the battery. From what I can tell 30+ hours should be possible with moderate usage.
I'm a battery life whore, so I personally do not overclock unless I need it for a specific app (Like a PSX emulator for example). My 1000MHz UV settings from low to high are as follows:
-150,-150,-150,-125,-125 - I haven't experienced a crash yet with these settings, but remember that every phone is different and what works for me may not work for you.
I'm not aware of any bugs, but let me know if you find any! I'm not amazing like MikeyMike01, designgears, the Phoenix/Firefly team, the Andromeda team or many others, but I'll do my best. There shouldn't be any bugs that aren't present in the stock ROM, but it's possible I messed something up.
Not really sure on any other random information, but you might want to consider using APN Backup and Restore to backup your APN's, just in case my list doesn't work for you for whatever reason.

It's all good. Just wanted to know.
I've got a Rogers Captivate and I live in Calgary, so I should be good.
I'm giving it a go so I'll let you know.
And with the Voltage Control, when it crashes the phone is still on and can receive messages and stuff but the power button doesn't turn the screen on right? It's happened to me a couple times on other roms and I'm just trying to figure out if it because of bad settings I have.

That's one way for it to crash, yeah. The most common way though is for it to hard-lock during use, ending up with you having to pull the battery to reboot.
How is this Canadian? ie how does it differ from the americanized versions? What was not changed to keep it canadian?
I support all your hard work and I'm looking forward to a canadian version but it just looks like rogers rom minus samsung/rogers bloat with a new kernel +APN backup and restore +a few apps...

That's basically what it is, plus the battery mod, a few settings tweaks, as well as a better kernel and modem. What makes it Canadian is the Rogers ROM itself. The other Rogers ROMs here are Americanized, whereas mine is not.
The Locale is English (Canada) rather than English (US), and the stock keyboard has Canadian spellings of words as well as the American ones (though if the Canadian spellings are removed from the other ROMs I do not know). The default time and date format is also day/month/year, rather than month/day/year.
There aren't a ton of differences between my ROM and say Cognition 3.04, but I spent a lot of time tweaking the stock ROM to my liking, and even longer packaging it into something installable, because I figure there's other people out there who would like it as well. If a single person uses my ROM and likes it, I'm happy with that.

GPS should be okay as well I presume.

Holy crap! You have to be running a GPS extension through a window or something. I can't even do that! Great job though. I may adjust the locale and play with this for the heck of it.
Have you changed any of the GPS files in this ROM?
I assuming from your original post that all you did was trim fat and left the Rogers stock in check? If so I'll definitely install this.
If haven't already, ive been using the combo of:
- Stock Rogers 2.2 ROM
- SuckerPunch (or SpeedMod) Kernel
- KP1 Modem
Quite honestly i've had better results than with the JK4 to me in terms of GPS. Instant locks and tracking in Toronto. As long as you leave the Rogers stock ROM unchanged and don't use the "GPS fixes" to alter it.
The only features i really think need to be added to the stock Rogers ROM are the Gingerbread Keyboard (which gives you voice input that doesn't come stock ), an accurate battery mod and the extended power menu (to give you the reboot features).
Anyway, if you feel like trying it out for the next version of this ROM I highly recommend it.

No it won't wipe your internal SD. It only wipes your System/Data/Datadata/Cache, and a couple other things like all other ROMs.

If you're going to post bugs please do not just post "My phone is slow", "xxTweaker is not working". Remember if you have issues you need to help myfluxi/others help you so post logs to help diagnose your issue. Here's how to get the logs using xxTweaker:
1) Open xxTweaker
2) Scroll down to xxTweaker option (last in list)
3) Scroll down to "DEBUG AND REPAIR" section
4) Select "Debug system logfiles"
5) This will place a file in /sdcard/xxTweaker/logs
6) Attach this file to your post detailing exactly what's happened

Remember to post as much detail as you can along with your attached logs describing the issue you have and if possible how to reproduce it something along the lines of:
Issue experienced: e.g. SOD, freeze, lockscreen unresponsive, slow mo bug etc
What were you doing: Brief explanation of what you were doing when it happened (not applicable to SOD)
Your setup: Are you running stock settings, overclock/underclock/undervolting, governor/scheduler etc
Can it be reproduced: Is it consistent or was it a one-off and if it can how?
If you're new to the kernel then this is the best place to ask any of your Fluxi related questions.
If you have any ideas about how to improve this thread then please post your ideas or if you have any useful how-to's etc related to using the kernel/xxTweaker app then also post these and I can quote your posts in the 2nd post.
Thanks for helping keep the development thread on topic.

FAQ
Q: Wakelocks "wlan_rx_wake" wake up my device constantly what I can do about it?
A: The problem is neither Android nor the kernel, but the router and the (Windows7) network. In the network properties, uncheck "IPv6", disable the service "IP Helper", "Shell Hardware Detection" and "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service", which provide ongoing Traffic. Then they scored again 98% of deep sleep.
Q: I have setted below maximum Suspend 500 MHz, 800 MHz is also used as the step. Why is this so?
A: "The device" wakes ALWAYS at 800MHz and goes to sleep as well, regardless of which settings are made. The hardware selected 800Mhz to ensure stable operation - change by software impossible.
Q: I need the "intermediate steps", ex. 300 or 700MHz, the CPU frequency table is not. Can I change this?
A: In theory: Nope! In practice: The option of individual frequency steps is a nice gimmick but virtually unnecessary as intelligent as governor select ondemand, conservative, or the interactive dynamic frequency target. The driver provides the steps of the governor decides. Future versions of the SoC Exynos therefore also use 100MHz steps.
Q: The xxTweaker remembers any settings, what is going on?
A: If only some Tweaker settings are not applied, I made a mistake (because I forgot to add them). If no settings are applied, there is something wrong with the permissions. Either missing from the root and the tweaker or directory /data/data/net.fluxi.xxTweaker/shared_prefs chmod'ed is wrong. The latter does the installer script at startup, if you like, it can also manually delete them.
Q: When is the superuser request every action, you can turn that off?
A: Simply update the su binary file: app drawer/superuser/Preferences/ "Press to check for updates" / Important "update anyway" / "Allow"
Q: I can not download, I just get a file "download.php".
A: The Android browser does not understand the PHP script on the server. Either 1 Rename the file and provided with the correct extension, eg "download.zip" or try another browser (Opera, Chrome) or use the PC.
Q: When the device wakes up from sleep or change the lighting conditions, the display is usually too bright / dark. It then takes a few long seconds to realize it, how bright it really is and then it adjusts the brightness. Is there a fix?
A: Yes and no. First, this is completely independent of the kernel. Basically, this is a source CM9/Open Source/Samsung-****ing-and-hold-consorts-important-things-to-lock problem. The HAL is the light sensor from Samsung is not documented and can not read CM reasonable values. Use the open-source sensor HAL (xxTweaker | System | Exynos sensor HAL) and the CM settings for automatic brightness (CM | System Settings | Display | Automatic Brightness | Step Customize | Editing levels). However, there is the possibility that thereafter the compass haywire.
Q: Help, BLN works in applications X and Y but not Z!
A: The poor kernel is innocent. BLN is as follows: The Android app generates a notification event, it triggers the liblight module, which writes to the sysfs kernel, liblight kernel module and have to rely on the information from the user space, so the ROM. In other words, from the perspective of the kernel, either always or not working.

My phone doesen't sleep very well..
The screen is off during the night but the phone is active and i lost about 10% battery..why?

Currently running SlimICS + Fluxi .2 beta9, will i get a better battery life and performance using CM9 + Fluxi .2 beta9??
Any input??
Superleeds, what do ya reckon??

Keep in mind that wifi also consumes some battery I wouldn't let my phone on while i'm sleeping. At least I would kill the open apps and turn off wifi.

Well SlimICS is CM9 with cherry picked bits of AOKP. Saying that though. I still got better battery life with the proper CM9

Personally I think ROM choice has less to do with it and the apps you've got and accounts sync'd etc are where you will save battery. If you freeze/remove anything you don't use then you'll do better and obviously using UC/UV etc will help a tiny bit too. I personally leave everything stock clock and voltage wise and just use my phone as I see fit. Remember the less you monitor and worry about the battery the better it will be Battery life should never choose your ROM, whether or not it's useful to you and what you like should

It's never best practice to judge battery life on the first cycle, just use it, drain it, charge it, then after a few days try monitoring your battery to see what it's doing, but if it's lasting you a day then shouldn't be a problem, or have I just not got as high expectations as everyone else?

There's only two types of ROMs: Samsung Stock and CM9. Every other ROM is a modified ROM from those two. Well, there's b2g also, but no one uses it.

I find it strange that the battery life I get on CM9, i have never achieved on any other ROM.
SlimICS
Several AOKP Rom's
When I've used the Roms I've always used Fluxi and the same kernel settings, plus, given it chance to settle too.
CM9 for some reason seems to consume less battery when the screen is on!

Bro, I've freezed about a total of 18 system apps from slim, extreme UV, UC 100 ~ 800, tweaked governor settings, gpu max step is 160, gpu UV more extreme than superleeds, only absolutely necessary apps, only inverted apps, and full black settings, no fancy color themes, autostart disabled of some services, sync only required apps and tons of other cherry picked tweaks, and i never get past 13 hours, and with screen of 2 hours. Anymore tweaks, and i rather sell off my S2 and get a nokia 3310..
The only thing i may be off the battery saving method is i'm using floating image live wallpaper, as i like to see my wife and daughters photo on my screen.. And even made sure that floating image does not misbehave, process usage and wakelock by FI, is very minimal.
My aim, is to have a minimal of 20 hours with screen usage of 4 hours.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
This is due to me sometimes being on the road and especially when i'm out on the boat fishing (hobby) for a few days...
I have no qualms when i'm in office or at home, i'm in front of my laptop almost 90% of my wake time.

so this is for wich version of the kernel? .32? .35? 3.0.8?
first impression: smooth, a lot of usable (!) features, but rom is still pretty smooth and fast even at 600mhz (like you said), MC3 runs at 1ghz as smooth as it should, nice animations and i also love other icons. I am verry impressed at speed of this rom
installation went well with cwm5.8
there is a common cm7 problem - error while searching for network. and another thing - primary language is turkish, but I mannaged to change it I just looked at icons
so far is this very good rom, i think i will stay at this one for a long while - i usually flash new one every week
didnt saw it... really sorry...

could you give some instructions about installation? i am on kernel .32 now. do i need to install this after updating to official gingerbread?
forumber2, this, of course doesn't support force internal mic with headphones on, like every other .35 ROM, correct? I would love to try this, but the lack of that is a big problem for me

Very nice Rom, I am loving it, I was missing CM
Is it possible to increase the painel frame rate to 53 with this script?
Code:

This would make this Rom my main 4 some time for sure:fingers-crossed:

You can unlock FPS to 55, but i think your method dont work on this ROM. You can do this method for unlock FPS to 55;
1-Open Root Explorer
2-find "system/etc/enhanced.conf"
3-Mount as RW
4-Open "enhanced.conf" with Text Editor
5-find "VSYNC=on" in "enhanced.conf"
6-change "VSYNC=on" to "VSYNC=off"
7-save it and reboot
enjoy :good:

It's too much cause it's nearly nothing even if wifi is on on most roms.
I'll install 30 min.later.we can compare.Be sure i'm very obsessed with battery drain.can interpret easily.
Edit:After 2 hours, battery seems normalat least,as good as an official rom.
Installed this, but there's something wrong with it. Wiped everything and no phone functionality / does not register battery.

Hi fornumber2,
I am now on stock B528, just would like to see if I am eligible to install your ROM? Can't wait to give it a try... :cyclops:
Paranoid Android for Gtab
Ok people, here is my best PA build so far. It has much improved gaming abilities, much fewer crashes, and the graphics glitches are all but gone. Probably still needs work, but everything I want out of it, I am getting. Your input, good or bad is invaluable for making it and other Gtab roms BETTER.
Please use a 350mg partition, per teamdrh's nvflash.
1. boot into recovery, wipe data/ factory reset
2. go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache
3. go to mounts and storage, format system.
4. Load rom from PC, and flash
5. On first boot, after the boot animation, there will be a blank screen for about a minute while the paranoid settings initialize, this will look wrong, but it is AaaaaaLRIGHT.
6. After boot, the initial setup should be:
A)Go to SETTINGS>SYSTEM>NAVBAR and turn on softkeys
B)Go to SETTINGS>paranoidsettings>and check tablet mode for all three. I also recommend changing statusbar to 120DPI, then apply changes and reboot.
7. Boot into recovery, and flash GAPPS, I recommend:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918484&highlight=gapps+market+only
(choose the jellybean package, and thank the guy)
Any other gapps I recommend installing individually from the market, but you can use the GAPPS from the smoothbean thread too
THATS IT! You're ready to roll, mod, play, whatever.
For the GAMERS:
With the intitial setup, along with overclocking to 1200mhz, deadtrigger plays flawlessly. I had one crash in a total of five hours of gameplay over three days.
For Gt racing, and some other gameloft games please hold power button, then turn on "EXPANDED DEKTOP"
Same goes for NBA JAM
For Mass Effect, go to SETTINGS>ParanoidSettings>apps>mass effect>and set it to 140 dpi, then check "force" and large screen"
Frontline commando, working great for me, but JesseJamez reported a couple of crashes, so I dont know what the deal is here.
For any game that crashes, the first recommendation is to turn on EXPANDED DESKTOP. THE SECOND RECOMMENDATION is 140 dpi, then the 3rd is 140 dpi with EXPANDED DESKTOP.
NBA2K13, plays but it lags, I think this is the limit of our GTABS!
Six Guns: version 1.0.6 that I posted previously works great
If you cant get your game to work, please try to find a previous version of the game if you cant get it through settings changes
CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS:
*Fixed for permissions in kernel for IO scheduler, can now be changed in Settings>performance
*merge latest from CM10

SO....SHOULD I USE THIS OR SMOOTHBEAN?????
Well, if you are a NBA JAM nut, or you have parents who need it BIGGER, this is the rom for you.
Otherwise, there is no need to switch from smoothbean other than curiosity.

Will have to try this... running SmoothBean now, but since my gTab is not completely set up I am open to playing around. Will let you know how it goes.

no, it is for gtab. The same things that wont work for zpad in other roms will also not work on this rom. It uses fosser's kernel for gtab, and therefore it will not support zpad features that gtab does not have.
Very Nice :good: I am taking this one for the ride of her life. Only thing done so far is CPU freq. change to 1200/456
Hats off

Good news guys. I got all the PA settings to work. THe tab had to be set up as a phone first, then you can change to phablet, or tablet. And, for gaming, all the per app DPI settings now work. Nobe is going to activate the ZRAM for me, and fix the audiopolicy.conf for HDMI audio and we will post later today, so please hang tight, I promise this next one is GOOD TO GO!

I think there are GAPPS for paranoid. Check their site. I will also look into this. Plus, make sure that if you run full gapps, you may need a 350meg system partition, using the teamdrh 350 PREP.
Once again, please go thank fosser or any other teamdrh member somewhere for making this possible.
Does it get better?.?

Testing and stuff
Hi people!
Thanks redeyedjedi! Installed here with no problem. Still in test, so...
Seems very good.
Well, no gapps yet. My benchmark is attached. Weird, my database io is always low...
On menu "performance" I can't change i/o scheduler. It's on "noop", when I open and change to other option, still "noop".
Well, good job and thanks!
Sorry for bad english

Good choice same 1 that I use. That package comes with Gmail and face lock. It's just too bad that we don't have a working camera.

Did you happen to do a full wipe before install? Something trailing over from a different ROM might be holding you back. The update script states in it to format system, but I think the settings are different from mine and it might not be doing a full job. Always wipe before switching (System, Data, Cache, and re-partition to the specs needed so nothing gets left. I did some testings and this ROM also buffers and Stores on the Data app partition like all others. So as a reminder if you only do a re-partition during installation you will loose all data and have to setup all over again.

Not all features are available yet.
Features:
Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op

Tethering
Nice to see a few ROMs for the T599! I am testing on the T599 T-Mobile variant.
Maybe there is an issue with Bluetooth.
Bluetooth tethering is not working.
But, WiFi tethering is working fine. :good:
Installed smoothly once I updated CWM. Will post on how it goes from here.
ps That's a bad ass boot image lol
Edit: Not a fan of how you put Vanir over the space bar, but I guess it doesn't matter because I'm not going to be using the stock keyboard anyway.
Edit2: Phone seemed to turn off randomly in the middle of the night, other than that it's working great so far.
Edit3: The music app combined with DSP Manager is pretty neat. If the music is distorting, the music app will pause to avoid damaging your system.
Edit4: Screen recording completely freezes the phone.

Screen recording doesn't work on these devices. I am removing the option that shows that to prevent device freezing.
I've redone the device tree and device is now codinalte. I made this change so that the assert checks won't allow flashing of older recoveries which would lead to device bootloops if used with the new j4fs and param setup.
Make sure you see the new instructions.
Changelog
-Used gcc 4.8 instead of 4.7 now that it's been tested.
-Removed all device asserts to prevent use of older recoveries.
-Disabled the use of screen record
-Switched device name to codinalte to cause less confusion with ace 2 users
-Upstream Vanir changes
-Philz cwm , cwm , and twrp now available for codinalte enabled builds only
Excellent ROM
Sent from my SGH-T599N using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
To everyone wondering this is the initial release of codinalte. I made this change to ensure everyone would be on the correct recovery and if you are on an older one it wouldn't let you install it . It would cause a bootloop due to the mismatch of j4fs and param module. This is the only way I can think of to ensure everyone is safe.

What bugs does this have other than the Bluetooth audio? Same as Omni Rom?

Yes , we should all have the same bugs. The only ones that will make a difference are rom specific issues.

Here are some bugs I'd experienced recently with VanirAOSP ROM latest build.
1. Last night I had set my alarm clock to wake up this morning but the alarm didn't go off because I found my phone shutdown or powered off. Apparently the randomly shutdown in the middle of the night.
2. Yesterday I had two occasions where my Network was lost completely. I had to reboot the phone to get it back.
3. I noticed that when I receive a call or make a call the volume sounds like is half way down. I always have my volume set all the way up. When someone calls me I have to hit the volume down one or twice and then back up to fix the loudness of the call. Something is not right.
4. I noticed that when ever I play and embedded YouTube Video whether in a Browser of any kind or an RSS Reader it FCs the application before the video starts. All the time. Here is an example. I recorder this LogCat for you....https://www.dropbox.com/s/aaf7wgywrf66b7a/2014-03-17-14-15-24.txt I try playing a YouTube video on this website.. http://sploid.gizmodo.com/here-are-7-facts-about-superheroes-you-probably-didnt-1541767101 on the AOSP Browser and same thing happens with other Browsers and apps with YouTube Video embedded in them.

You could try this for low call fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2676518
Use the onlyincallfix.apk it should work to fix volume please confirm this.
The video problem is due to the patches we used not supporting a certain function required for the video playing. The phone randomly dying is something i know nothing about as of yet.
Does it work on the international version and does it have random reboots like in the latest CM11?

This is not for s3 mini. Please wait some time for me do a test build. I don't have the s3 mini but it's a similar device. If you want I can send you a pm of the test build. Please continue this conversation in a private message.
Phone died overnight even though on charger. I believe its the performance function. Installed voltage control. Still testing. Will post results.

I am looking into it. I haven't noticed why it did that yet. I can add back dvfs limit if you think it's the voltage. Basically you won't be able to use performance control it will stay at 0 for min and max.

The same thing happened to me, but while running Beanstalk. I have been running Vanir for the past few days and I have not seen any issues with FC or reboot yet. Battery life appears to be excellent, lasting 48 + hours with light use.
I am running the T-Mobile variant.
