i had this Problem for a long time it 90% has nothing to do with the software its about the hardware can you answer this for me:
1.are you using the right charger for your device i may be a voltage just let the battery drain and charge with the original one
2.try changing the kernel
3.it may have something to do with the charging port did it fall in the water not the phone the port like if you dropped a glass of water and it touched the port it don't worry it will solve it self
press thx if i helped
Yeah m using original one
I never droped my sgy in the water and which kernal i can use??
M currently using kuro kernal.

Try to reflash the Kernel and the ROM. It may be the cause.
Maybe some files might have got changed / corrupted after flashing the kernel.
Best charging method opted by myself:
Charge the battery fully
Use it until it drains completely
Then again charge it full without interruption
P.S. I am a newbie! Sorry I am wrong! Please correct my mistake (if found any)

you should try calibrating your battery, you can use "Battery calibrator" app (available on market). You have to charge your battery to 100% and then calibrate using the app, you should do this each time you flash a new ROM.
With data connection on it can use a lot of power using froyo based roms (not by all) indicating by a temperature rise. I am afraid calibrating won't help on this.

Clear battery stats from cwm..
first of all --- wrong section
second tell me which kerrnel you are using......
also switch off your phone and them try to switch it on.........
does it vibrate and shows charging????
i had the same problem because of water damage and it was solved by blowing hot air from a hair dryer into the charging port in a way that it comes out from the battery point....
remember to take out your battery before you do it.....
this will dry out the water if any in the main board. dry the board properly and then switch on and report....
also do not forget to hit thanks if i helped you
i had the same problem
..
just clean ur charging port and push slightly charging pin up..
Maybe you have discovered the secret to infinite power? Be thankful, you don't have to live with terrible battery life anymore.

the problem can be the battery, even if it's a new one.
I tried two other batteries, and the problem had continued.
I think the other ones was fake/old batteries, but sold as original and new.
Thanks for the help, the problem is solved, I just had to do full sbf install for 3 times. Now my mobile is on for about 26 hours using the new battery. (On 4.2.2)
Maybe I had problems both with the old battery and the battery files on the ROMs.

I have been experiencing similar battery problems running Whiterabbit 2.1.1 on my Green lens Defy Mb525. Which 4.2.2 ROM are you using Jinx? If I flash a new ROM and recalibrate the battery is that likely to fix it? I'm guessing sbf install is the same as a full factory reset. (forgive me, I'm a beginner when it comes to all this!) How come you needed to reinstall 3 times?
I don't know, what solved my problem, but the fact is that I reinstalled the sbf three times than updated to Quarx's latest 4.2.2 nightly than I got it right.
My phone just run out of power after 3 days 4 hours. Good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to reply Jinx.
3 days is excellent! I flashed sbf twice, had some trouble running Jellybean ROMs without serious lag, so am currently reverting back to 7.2, running 'Cyanmobile experience'. It runs smoothly, but still encountering the battery drops, so its somewhat of a mystery!
I'll keep experimenting.
I have a spare battery, and an external wall charger. Currently swapping between the two to last through the day with enough juice!

Somehow, even for me, after 3 sbf flashes, CM10 is really smooth and there are no problems so far. Oddly, after the second sbf flash, CM10 was quite laggy.
I bought my brand New defy in October 2012. I've had huge battery drops ever since I jumped onto the CM10 bandwagon from this February. How's that possible?

I've flashed cm7.2 of percy and the ported miui rom, the weird problem is the battery keeps charging eventhough i've already removed the charger and after sometime my battery keeps getting higher instead of going down. I think it is on charging state but without the charger attached. I know its not a battery issue coz i've tried reverting back to stuck rom and its solved the problem.. i want to know if this is a cm7.2 bug and if there is a fix for this?

Hey guys, so i was trying out velocity ROM for the first time. Went through the usual. Clean wipe, flashed ROM + PA gapps and rebooted. Somewhere while booting up, the screen just went dead and would not turn on anymore.
I read up later that ART is the default runtime on the ROM and now i wonder whether PA gapps and ART dont play along.
Is my phone bricked? Any recommendations to fix this?
Thanks!

Nexus 4.
If your is not switching on, or not charging after flashing, its time to say gud bye to it,.coz its been hard bricked... u should replace it vid another... the onyl way to get it back is go to service center and tell them,, that it got dead,, dont tell them that u have rooted or flashed a rom...if its in warranty...
they vll replace vid a new one..

So here's something strange. It seems to be charging just fine. Although the display still doesnt come on, the red led notification light flashes incessantly.
So strange.
Then it might be hardware display fault.. i think...

Red light means your battery is discharged to 0%. The charger doesn't have enough power to bump up the voltage. You need to take the phone apart and then do something with the battery contact wires, i think there's a thead here on nexus 4 xda forum.
