[Q] Does Stock LG updated its camera? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does Stock LG updated its camera?
I'm living now with CM, and still don't have the best photography app esp in low light situation. Both CM and mod LGcamera are very slow in low light and taking photos results to blurred or noisy photos. Video in Mod LgCamera is smooth in low light. So if the LG Stock camera has been updated and fix the slow shutter in low light, I think I will go back to stock again.

Terrible picture quality

Does anyone elses camera take horrible pictures (I mean dreadful, unusable pics) when they're indoors or with dim lighting? Outside the camera is great, but inside, it sucks horrendously.
And I'm talking about without the flash
I downloaded a camera app to compare, and the stock cam app is awful compared to the camera effects app. At least inside anyway.
sent through the grape vines
did you try shooting w/ night time scene mode? I found that helps.
light... aperture... sensor sensitivity...
blame the realities of physics. not the camera itself
no, its not the physics, its the stock camera app. when i take pictures of anything black it does that,
i downloaded the miui camera apk and it seems to be a lot better

[Q] Camera performance after Jishnu/xdabebb mod?

Hi all, I 've been thinking of buying a new phone & I really like the g2 very much but the only thing that is stopping me is the camera performance.
Can someone please tell me after the Jishu/xdadebb mod how is the camera performance under low light, how is the autofocus in low light also is the continuous autofocus in the video problem resolved. How much is the shutter lag after the mod.
I really want to buy this device for the camera & its under my budget if the camera ain't good enough even after the mods I may go with oppo find 7a/oneplus one which are in the same budget but have better camera.
I dont capture my photos in low light. But the camera is pretty amazing with xdadebb mod, and Mi2Raw enables the G2 to capture raw footage as well.
The G2 and G3 has the same camera sensor, just that the G3 has a Z-Axis image stabiliser and laser autofocus. So if I were you, I'll go look at those camera comparisons on review sites comparing the G3, OnePlus One and the Oppo.
Edit: Video performance is pretty good too. xdadebb camera mod allows for tap to focus in video to focus your subject and it works well. It has object tracking too!
Edit 2: With dorimanx's kernel, I was able to turn down the mic gain when I was at a concert. That + the stereo recording = pretty awesome recording
Thanks @lowjinyik.
Anyone else using these mods please comment about the low light performace after the mod.
I haven't tried taking pictures in low-light conditions yet, I should, will do and compare later but under bright, sunshine outdoor, with Normal mode, I see virtually no difference in term of performance and image quality. There are several features that I haven't tried out yet.

The low light camera quality is good. The mod makes very little difference to low light pictures.
Thanks guys for your responses. I think I might go with oppo find7. It's better than the g2 in every aspect except battery life & OS updates. Which can be taken care by the VOOC charger & custom roms respectively.

[Q] Google camera and HDR+ on LG G2

I just downloaded the latest Google camera 2.4 on an LG G2 with android 4.4.2 and the HDR is not working (it does on the stock camera). When I take a pic, it looks pretty much the same regardless if HDR it's on or off. In the pics with the Google Camera app (the two first ones) the difference is minimal, probably caused due framing and angle (more light from the screen or natural light reflecting on the door). The third pic is stock, which has the kind of contrast I would expect from an HDR picture.
I also noticed that the HDR+ option is not available, just the regular HDR. Is it only for the nexus 5/6? just lollipop? Our it's there an apk that can be installed? I'm using the stock Rom on an AT&T rooted device.

Oneplus 2 recording low FPS in low and artificial light conditions Oxygen 2.1.1

I have reverted back to stock OS since I prefer how the camera pictures result there. However, I have noticed that the video recording in the stock camera has a disappointing low FPS in lowlight and artificial light when recording. But when I use other camera apps such as google camera or cameranext, the fps recording is decent but the exposure is very low, and the video output has a narrow field of view.
Is there a fix for this problem for the stock OS? Or is this a software problem in Oneplus' end?

Best Camera app for Non-Touchwiz Roms?

Hey guys,
I Love CM/AOSP ROMs but often find the camera somewhat lacking compared to the Touchwiz one, any recommendations for a good camera app?
The pre-installed snap camera is as good as it gets for cm/aosp based roms
you can get the HTC Camera (Search HTC Camera old on google) its really good. i use that on my TW rom i think its better
As far as the S5 goes - I can give you the answer, because I also have the same device. I'm using Snap Camera HDR (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap&hl=en). The stock CM camera lacks saturation and this app allows you to increase it. I've actually compared pictures from both TouchWiz and CM based ROMs and I can say that when you increase the saturation to 8 or 9, you absoulutelly can't tell the difference.
The stock camera that comes with ResurrectionRemix is Terrible... Especially in Low Light.
Just tried that, and it doesn't seem to be storing the photos are taking em haha. Forgot to mention i'm using a MM rom.
The only down side to snap camera (pro) is how it handles low light photos compared to TW.
Other than that I agree with the rest, snap camera is the best it gets.
PS. Looking into the HTC camera being recommended, will return with results.
I there! I can suggest two pay apps:
A BETTER CAMERA - good quality camera, the one I use with stock ROM. It supports real HDR, video recording (only 1080p) with HDR (I think it's same as Rich Tone HDR of stock camera), panorama mode, and DRO (Dynamic Range Optimization) that is very similar to Rich Tone HDR (it's a post-processing filter that fix overall exposure of the photos and can save both original and fixed shots).
PRO CAPTURE - another good camera, it's support natively Samsung Rich Tone HDR (in Scene Mode it's simply called HDR) but photos is little darker thank stock camera. I don't know if support this function with custom ROMs. Photo quality is very good, but this one not support video recording.
