Hi guys, does anyone here uses snapchat on CM. Each time I try to record a video the app freezes and the camera is no longer accessible.
Does anyone know what to do in that case ? thanks

In most cases, force stopping the app, clearing the data/cache makes the camera accessible again, but to make the recording actually work, you'll have to ask the developer of your ROM. Not every ROM gives you the ability to record because of bugs.

Hello. I seem to have a problem with my camera. When I switch to camcorder, I tap the record button to start recording but nothing happens. It doesn't record anything. It just highlights and then does nothing. I have this ROM installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370205
I would like to know why it is giving me this problem. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
you should probably do a full wipe and reflash.

I did that and still nothing. It's funny because it works when the ROM is freshly flashed but when I sync my Google account and re-sync all my data back on my S4, the camcorder does not want to record. It works when I turn on time lapse, but not when time lapse is off. I enjoy recording videos, and since for some reason the record button doesn't start the recording, I can't record video. It frustrating. I really like this ROM because of it's slimness and cleanliness and it is stock android. It's frustrating that I can't record video because of this issue. :'(
are you restoring data from titanium backup? if so, you may be restoring some system information that is causing this.
Is DSP manager installed?

I had the same issue I flashed the 4.3 dsp manager and it broke the video record option in the stock camera/gallery app. I flashed my t-mobile m919 with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348272 and did not reinstal dsp manager and now everything works.
Just received an update from Google. Installed it and now the camera app has stopped working !! The rear camera probably is the issue as even when I use Open Camera, I can't go to the rear camera and take pics. This is just very very frustrating! Already had issues with the native camera app and now this ! Software glitches that too with Google are really frustrating as there is no way I can reach them
Also, my flashlight isn't working. Could this be a hardware issue?
Any help or suggestions? Other than another factory reset?

Try clearing the system cache. If that doesn't work stop the native camera app. If you get a message to undo all updates and revert to stock hit yes. Clear any app data then reboot phone. Restart camera app.

I have recently installed on my I9505 the Thor s7 style rom with patch v2 and
when i try to shoot a video on any resolution it work's BUT when i go to gallery
instad of video image it show's a grey icon with this ! sorry my english is not that good
and the video play's normaly it's just if you shoot many videos in one day you won't know wich video is what..
Please anyone know something about this?

i try to replace the gallery from another rom that it is exactly the same i set read write so i can do this but nothing
works see i like the MM gallery and i would like to keep it stock you know?

Your two options are: Get another gallery app, from the play store, or get another ROM.
Possibly another camera app, some come with their own galleries.

Anyway, I'd like to know if someone can help me.
I'm absolutely not able of getting Google Camera to work.
I tried different version, I think the problem is caused by the fact that our phone has a SD801...
But I have no idea how to solve it.
Camera just crash as soon as I open it.

It is arm based
Google camera is nowadays built for arm64 architecture

The versions which came with nexus 6 would work

I tried but I can't downgrade. How come? It shows "corrupted package".

I downgraded to 2.7.010, It works and connect to camera but I'm unable of taking videos!
It start recording but when I tap on the stop icon it freezes and the only thing that I can do is to reboot the phone. Or close the app (but camera would be busy, so no tourch for example or no other photos until the next reboot).

Yes. Everything works fine except the resolution of lens blur is low.

Try this snapdragon camera. It will crash on first pic taken, first video taken, first slow or fast motion video. But honestly I tried lot of camera apps and this is best one of all.

After open 6 update, I notice that photos looks worse than in open 5 and some functions like hdr are not working. Is the camera service not working?

Wait for the open 7. Sad but true. I tried everything that you can imagine. The only way that I fixed this, was installing the oneplus camera mod. The problem seems to be with the new camera app or camera service. The stranger thing is that I only saw you and another guy complayning about this.
Did you both clean installed Open Beta 6? Cleaned cache?
Sorry if this seems trivial but to have the same common ground it would be helpful to know this.

Sure. The problem is with latest camera app (2.5.25). I uninstalled it and installed the 2.5.23 from open 5, and everything is working now. The problem with 2.5.25, is when you take a picture and see it from the gallery shortcut on camera app, the post processing will not working, but if you go into gallery app, the post processing will be realized.

I am asking because i am using OB6 and i cant reproduce this misbehavior. It is working as it should and if this would be a reproducible problem, the OP forums would be filled with this i guess.

But, here is not working as should be. If I take a picture and try to see it directly from gallery shortcut on camera app, the pictures will be with much noise and hdr and hq will not be applied. But, if I go into gallery, the pictures will looks great and hdr and hq will be applied.
