When I try to get into recovery I get a black screen. Then I get the LG logo with a few lines of white writing in the upper left corner for half a second, too fast for me to read what the words say. Right after that my phone looks like it powers off, but it doesn't the screen just goes dark. After I have held the power button for about 10 seconds the phone reboots, optimizes all 247 of my apps, and takes me back to my rom completely skipping recovery. I have tried every way to get into recovery... rebooting through TiBU, goo.im, flashify, rom installer, adb, etc. I have tried going into download mode, all to no avail. I have tried to reinstall twrp 2.6.3.3, cwm, twrp 2.6.3.2 through goo.im, adb, and rom manager. I have linked to a youtube video of what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This all happened after I tried to upgrade my TWRP to 2.6.3.3. The rom that I am on works perfectly, but I do not want to be stuck on it forever.

bad flash. Same exact thing happened to me. Use Flashify to go back to TWRP 2.6.3.2 IMG downloaded straight from TWRP (Google TWRP LG G2). Then you can try again to upgrade to 2.6.3.3 by installing the ZIP file in TWRP recovery (I got mine from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472223 since the one on TWRP's site was giving me flashing errors). I have .3 working on my VS980 now. The .3 VZW IMG file provided at the above link actually was the one that gave me the black screen...
If Flashify doesn't succeed in reinstalling the 2.6.3.2 IMG, then I have no idea....

Thank you for your help! That was exactly the problem. the fix was very simple. I just had to make sure that I applied the fresh twrp 2.6.3.2.img using flashify. the image directly from twrp. On a sidenote it seems as if the 2.6.3.3.img directly from twrp is bad... I'm content with staying on 2.6.3.2 for now since it works. Thanks again.
I flashed twrp form the goo manager app and tried to reboot into recovery but i got a boot loop and the only way i have fixed it is flashing cwm through odin but i dont like cwm as much as i do twrp and yes i have tried to install twrp via odin and still nothing whats going on and how can i fix this??
EDIT: I managed to use recovery tools and install it that way and everything works now!
Hi. Writing from my Phone now. Im running cm 11. I installed or flashed philz touch...
Then installed cm11.
I want to do a nandroid backup..
But when i tried restarting to recovery, it skipped that part and went to cm11..
Normal reboot.
Before i flashed cm i had latest stock rom from samsung.
I flashed philz touch that time to..
But when i then installed cm, something went wrong, got some error on cm.
Uid's something. Forgot. I could not boot in recovery, so i used odin, flashed philz touch.
Factory reset and my Phone was fine!
Cm and recovery.
Now it seems i cant get into recovery again...
Anyone know whats the issue?
Locked bootloader? Have not read up on that yet...
Its wierd if recovery just fails or whats the issue.
Pardon the blurry explenation and my bad english/spelling. Im tired.
Thanks in advance.
It was the Quick boot app. Since i set developer options in cm to restart into recovery through CyanogenMod.
But the Buttons did not work last time i tried.
But its kinda solved. Flashed the latest recovery with rashr yesterday...
So i will just use cm to boot into recovery..
Thanks anyways.
Hello, When I boot into recovery and try roto flash twrp 2.8.4.0 it just reboots twrp and doesn't install. Any ideas why this is happening? I'm currently in twrp 2.8.3.0
Use Flashify from the app store. This worked for me.
Hello all, I have an issue with recovery on my i9505 which hopefully someone can assist with?
I'm using the excellent Optimised CM12.1 and had TWRP 2.8.7.2 (f2fs) as my recovery all working fine. I've recently flashed the newest 2015-11-1 ROM over the top (clear cache and dalvik, but not data wipe) and all seemed great.
However, I went to 'reboot to recovery' in order to install exposed and got stuck on the teamwin splash screen of recovery. Every time I tried to power off it would bootloop into the same splash screen!
Using Odin I was able to flash a new recovery (TWRP 2.8.6.0) and reboot the phone as normal. All worked fine until I tried recovery again and found the same issue!
I've now got CWM (6.0.4.7) flashed to see if that would help but nothing is mounted when using that and so I cannot get to the zip files! When attempting to mount within CWM it errors and cannot mount.
I'm open to any suggestions and would like to learn why this is occurring. Let me know if there's any logs or files I can post that would help.
Many thanks in advance!

Do not use CWM. It's outdated and not compatible with Lollipop.
You could try flashing a stock rom with .pit and re-partition. After that flash TWRP again.

Thanks for the advice. I don't like CWM myself.. just tried it as an attempt to get TWRP flashed back properly!
I will go the stock re-flash route as a last resort. I'm sure it will fix the issue but is a little drastic.
What caused this? - is it something to do with the F2FS filesystem? TWRP recovery was working fine in order for me to flash the updated CM12.1 (2015-11-1).
