2. Flash the firmware posted by you.
Will I be able to get the ota update ?
I'm S-OFF and boot loader is in unlocked state...

If firewater does not work, use Sunshine s-off but you need to pay 25$ for it. Sunshine seems to work with the devices facing "whelp..." Problem?

Ok you need to do the following:
1.flash the nandroid backup.
2.if rooted then, flash unsuperuser.zip to unroot.
3. To return back to stock recovery, use "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" using adb. Use the recovery.img in the firmware.zip file(extract it in pc).
4.reboot and update.
Enjoy 4.4.3 then ?

I experimented and migrated to 4.4.3 already.
But without the firmware.zip posted by you it wouldn't have been possible.
The steps mentioned by u are also simple and precise...
Thank you....
One question : what if I don't restore stock nandroid backup... But update on a custom Rom with stock recovery.... Will it work... Will it at least upgrade the firmware ?

No you can't update officially with those specs. The update will stall and doesn't change a thing.

Stock recovery question/request

I was hoping someone could help me out. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. Is there any way to extract the recovery image from the firmware zip? I tried to do so on my PC but I received an error saying the zip was invalid which I'm assuming is because it's signed by HTC. I'm trying to avoid flashing the firmware in RUU mode since I then lose root. My goal is to be on the stock recovery with root so I can receive OTA's when they are available. If not, does anyone happen to have a copy of the stock recovery for the 1.19.605.22 software . I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

[Q][STOCK] Downgrade to sprint Stock

Hi,
I've found the following (SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip) stock ROM on firmwarecenter. But it's not a usual ROM, I can't flash the zip with TWRP as usual.
Do you guys have any link to the Sprint stock ROM ? Or any tutorial to explain how to flash a ROM like this one ?
Thank you,
Djokx
Unpack the zip file first and use fastboot for flashing whole firmware by using fastboot commands. Ex: fastboot flash boot boot.img

They don't typically make stock firmware for flashing in custom recovery. Unzip, rename files from .xml to .img and install with fastboot.

Nothing bad. Someone mentioned you making stock flashable zips. And here you made one. Right on dude.

Getting back to stock EMUI super easily, almost no hassle

Hi everyone, today I will be telling you all how to get back to stock as long as your bootloader states "PHONE Unlocked" and "FRP Unlock"
You will need to install this, this is super duper important! https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
When installing, you will see the error: "E: Unknown command []]"
DO NOT BE AFRAID!
That is supposed to happen lol.
Installation procedure -
1. Flash this TWRP: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18uHjW73Th8iYKIs5m_QgwleMIOjsZd7S/view?usp=sharing
2. Wipe everything except SD card, then choose "Format data" to decrypt device
3. Reboot once again into TWRP (NOTE: If you are using USB OTG cable, make sure to plug it in AFTER TWRP is fully booted and ready to go, if you do it early, you get an error, which is weird lol. EDIT: Not sure if this error is still present in the new twrp, but it's never bad to play it safe.)
4. Flash HuRUpdater, make sure the file names are correct!
5. Reboot into stock recovery
6. Factory reset and wipe cache partition
7. Reboot
This method also enables themes to work again, so no need to worry about that!
Lots of thanks to @zxz0O0 to providing this awesome tool
And more thanks to the OpenKirin community for helping me out when flashing this! :good::good::good:
