I was playing a game and I opened the keyboard, the game crashed, I could hear the music then the screen went dark and the phone restarted, then it went into a boot loop, HTC logo then the Vodafone logo, then the HTC logo etc etc. So I pulled the battery, booted holding power down (or up I forgot) and I think I chose the reboot boot loader option, I have no idea what that is and probably shouldn't have did that, anyway, then I pulled the battery again and now the phone wont turn on at all, and the LED doesn't come on to show it's being charged. I'm kinda worried, no warranty or returns, I got it off Ebay, pleaaase help me XDA, you're my only hope.
EDIT: I have all my apps and games installed to the SD card, checked the SD card out and it's completely fine, far as I could tell all files were there, and I ran the Windows 7 hardware check tests and all returned fine
Edit2: Just put the battery back in after keeping it out for about half an hour maybe more, still no dice.
Edit3: I get an orange LED if I plug the phone into the computer, It's the first sign of life I've seen out of it for a while now, so I'm going to leave it plugged in for a while.
Come on guys I'm freaking out here

Can your PC detect the phone. Have tried adb?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using Tapatalk
Try running an ruu. Preferably a version that's actually rootable. Sounds like you may have borked the bootloader, which is really a bad look, because without the bootloader, your phone can't boot, or load the system. And since you're actually getting the orange light when you plug it to the computer, you might still be in luck.
Post back and let us know what happens, and I hope everything works out for ya.

Right now my phone is plugged into the mains and the orange LED is flashing. I'm not really sure what ADB or RUU is? So basically there's no way I'm getting my phone to run the way it was, so there's no reason not to do a reset if I can?
EDIT: Sorry guys I know you probably get this a lot but I'd reaaaly appreciate if anyone could help me out here, I need to get this phone running ASAP, and since the phone is basically screwed I may as well flash a rootable firmware version like mpitcher225 said, I've been wanting to root the phone for a while but didn't want to mess with it, but now I don't have a choice . Is there any step by step guides for my situation?
I would suggest coming to the #G2ROOT irc http://webchat.freenode.net/
The guys there can assess your situation and will be able to give you one to one advice.

Thanks I'll give that a try, not getting a reply yet but I'll be patient and hope someone is nice enough to help me out
ADB says errorevice not found.
I have it plugged into the pc via usb, then I open the command prompt and cd to the adb directory, then i typed adb -s SERIALNUMBER shell
If you only have one device plugged in, you won't need the serial number. Test with "adb devices" and then get to business with "adb shell"
Windows doesn't make the device plugged in noise when I plug it in, and the phone isn't showing the orange LED anymore.
adb devices shows nothing. The orange LED is on again. If I plug the phone in, take out, then reinsert the battery, the LED goes on.... My phones dead isn't it?

Kinda sounds like it. I didn't read all those posts, but did you get you're hands on an Ruu?
Swyped from my Red Hot HP Officejet 3800
I found "RUU_Vision_Hutch_AUS_1.85.861.3_Radio_12.28h.60.140f_26.06.02.27_M_release_172438_signed" but it crashes when I open it :S. I wasn't sure which RUU to get. Someone on Reddit is suggesting it might be the battery.... I'm not sure, but I'd love to test it, any ideas on how I can test the battery? Should the phone boot without a battery, and plugged into mains?
Just an update. The phone is plugged into the mains charger and the orange LED light is flashing.... From what I've read that means low battery (Now I think about it I have seen it flashing orange on battery saver before). What could that mean? battery is faulty? battery isn't charging? I'm hoping it is the battery tho I am probably grasping at straws here. A simple test would be to get a fully charged battery and stick it in there and see if it boots... Only problem is getting a battery, if I order one off ebay theres a chance it wont work, it wont be fully charged, and I'll have to wait a week. Any ideas?

ooofff.. that sounds nasty.
You say the green LED is coming ON for a second when it's plugged into the pc.
Are all the ABD and/or flash drivers correctly installed?
I hope it's not a brick.

Yeah!! When i connect it in flash mode the LED stays for a second and then disappears. I did nothing that could possibly brick the phone!!! I just switched off my phone when i was about to start with my exam. After about 2 hours i switched it on and it didn't boot. And by the way when i press the power button a green LED blinks.
Try to take out the battery for a while and try to flash it again.
Another idea is to take out the battery, and while holding the back button on the phone and having the dialogue to put the phone in flash mode in flash tools, first put in the USB cable and then the battery.
Hey guys!!! My phone is back now. I just reflashed it. Thank u everyone for helping me out
I hope this is In the right area I rooted my fire and installed a custom rom added fff and the recovery ect well yesterday when I press power nothing happens when I plug it up to power it turns on flashes the press power for recovery square then shuts down flashes it again it does this over and over never ending it wont stay on long enough for me to do anything I tried letting it charge all night I tried different power cords when it plugs to my pc it does the same anyone have any ideas

I would suggest trying this first as it sounds like you are in the recovery loop. Another useful tool is to "re-stock" it using this utility. Maybe not the best idea if you haven't done a recent backup but if you have tried everything else these usually work to get you going again.
Also it can't hurt to go through this thread and see if someone else has suffered the same problem. Between these 3 threads you should get your kindle working again.

Odd if it's turning on your PC should be able to make a connection long enough to adb it. Have you tried pressing the power button a few times to get into "recovery" mode? The exact instructions are "press the power button when the light dims green" however I have noticed it works for me if I just gently press the power button a few times once I turn it on.
Also have you tried a "hard reset"? Basically you hold the power button down for 20-30 seconds until the kindle turns completely off.
Barring this I am drawing a blank. I am only just now learning the ins and out of this system.

If it won't charge on its own, you're probably going to have to make/buy a factory cable and try it this way...

If you want a fuller picture of the discussion, go back to post #226 and start from there.
If you don't know what a factory cable is...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1550999
Good luck.
EDIT: You might actually be able to do the above without a factory cable since you have FFF installed. This is all just "in theory" to me because I've never encountered this exact problem.
Try this:
Unplug your device
Get your command prompt ready (make sure you are in the directory that fastboot is located)
Type the following command ( but don't hit enter yet):
fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000
Plug your USB cable into your computer first, then your device
When it comes on, within the first few seconds of seeing the yellow triangle, hit enter, then reboot.
Plug it into your charger.

I am seeing more and more of these threads of the kindle "not charging" after TWRP is installed. I am wondering if it's user error or something deeper.
I would let it charge for a bit and see what happens. Also press the power button a few times when you turn it on until the light turns orange. If it does turn orange and boots into TWRP then you know at least the kindle is not "bricked" and you can restore a backup.

Thanks but it won't charge at all I know its not charging because when it turns on a little later it shuts back down, then it boots up and shuts down even faster than last time.
Have you try to press and hold the Power button for more than 30 seconds?
I think I need to take the battery out and charge it separately, but how would I charge it once its out?I need help.

Yes it just turns on then off
Have you try this:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
If you end up stuck at the yellow triangle, in KF Utility select Boot Normal, wait for it to say <waiting for device> and then press and hold the power button 20 seconds until the fire turns off, then when its off turn it back on. This sometimes happens, I have yet to find a clean solution
If you end up stuck with a yellow triangle, do not EVER unplug it. Leave it plugged in. Check the windows drivers to make sure it isnt showing as "kindle" again. Fastboot is different and can cause this.

I am so mad right now...I got it working by making a charger that is one volt stronger. It booted up, but then i was going to take a picture of it to put on xda and when i plugged my charger in the seond time, the device shut down.NOW WHEN I CONNECT A CHARGER TO IT IT WONT EVEN TRY TO TURN ON,BUT IF I CLICK THE BUTTON IT TURNS ON FOR 2 SECONDS THEN TURNS OFF. I am so mad:
i assume you meant Ampere not Volt ?
usb charger has 5V - if build one with 6V (don't know how) - you will damage the device !
it should have ~2A - let it on the strong charger over night

I'm pretty sure that will work, if you can get that far. Otherwise (assuming you've already opened it) unplug the battery cable, start the fastboot command, plug in USB, then when (if? not sure it'll work) fastboot completes plug in the battery.
Changing the charging voltage won't help because the charge controller has a built in regulator. IIRC it will take something >12V, but there are probably other things on the USB V+ that might get fried at those levels.
I do remember from the tiny bit of battery charger documentation I'd seen that the Fire's charge controller does not have the flat battery recover feature, that is, provide a trickle charge by default if the battery is too low to power up the CPU. Which is flat out stupid on a consumer product.
This is my first time posting here so hi everyone.
I have a problem with my moto g5+.
I purcased my moto g5+ around a year a go completely new and ended up not using it.
Now my primary device broke down and i thought its time to switch only one problem.
It won't turn on.
When I connect charger white led will consistantly blink but nothing else happens no battery charging screen , nothing.
It wasn't compleatly discharged since I charged it up till 100% and turned it off when I puted it away , i still did charge it a couple times during the year of not using it and last time was a month ago and it charged just fine.
No water or Physical Damage has been done to the phone no rooting also , it just wont turn on.
I tried hard reseting it , tried to hold power button for 5 min tried to enter boot loader to access recovery mode with no luck.
I used original charger and cable that came with phone to charge it.
Since warranty is out of the way by this point because i bought it in july im seeking a fix or recommendation here.
All help will be appreciated

It seems your device had hard bricked, you can recover it by using the blank flash file.
Here is the procedure:-
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/moto-g5-plus-hard-bricked-recognized-t3636457
But, I don't understand how you are device got hard bricked as you need to downgrade or root it to get your device bricked. But you can recover it by above link.

Tried doing this methode but my pc wont reconize the device as connected , when i connected it to the pc it showed lightning symbol like charging , i left it to charge for 2h but still nothing.
In order to use blankflash successfully your PC needs to be in test mode. To do this
Code:
Click Start, and then type cmd in the Search box.
Under Programs, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
At the command prompt, type the following text, and then press Enter: bcdedit /set TESTSIGNING OFF.
Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your computer
When you plug in phone, look at device manager, ports, and see that it is connected. It should say something like "Qualcomm HS- USB Diagnostics " with a port "Comm 7" or whatever #.
1.Be sure Qualcomm drivers are installed.
2.Make sure your Hard Bricked Moto is connected in device manager under ports .
3.Hold volume down and power until you see it connect under ports. It should say "qhsusb-bulk" You should hear a slight sound from PC when it connects. This can be very tricky as another member [ Rakesh1b] explained his method.
trick is to press and hold the power button then it disconnects and connects to pc u could hear sound from pc then press voldown and power and launch blankflash.bat at the same time i mean same time then it detects and leave the buttons once you see the script running if not it will reboot the device and after running the script it will be booted to fastboot mode . if u failed 1st time repeat same power off then remaing things same as mentioned.

Good luck, as it is not an easy process. One time it took me nearly half an hour to time it right, to get blankflash to run successfully. Also I played with a phone that would never flash Vaches blankflash for the G5 + but had to use the one for addison, Moto Z play. When that happens you have to do the extra step of flashing the addison to potter files. Hopefully you won't have to do all that, but just warning that sometimes it is necessary. Like I posted before, in device manager on PC, make sure under ports it shows as qhsusb-bulk under the port it lists as. Also be sure you have adb/fastboot and all its drivers correctly installed. I am really curious as to how it got hard bricked, because even doing my test phone, it is difficult to hard brick it. I have this "test phone" that has a bad microphone, so I have run it through all kinds of crap, rather than jeopardise my every day phone.

If your phone was in oreo, you maybe want to try the addison (moto z play) blankflash, i once bricked mine and the potter blankflash always failed.
Also try the USB 2.0 ports, as the 3.0 ones doesn't recognizes it.
Put it on the charger and let it charge. IT could just be deader than disco.
Also check your cable make sure it's a data cable buddy.

Well good news is , that i manged to get it to show up as the device with which i should be able to do blank flash.
The problem now is it won't stay in bootloader to be recognized as that device longer than 30 sec.
It just turns off after some time and pc automaticly wont recognize it anymore.

Well managed to get it to point where my pc recognized phone as device buuut another thing came up. It only is recognized for max 30sec after witch phone gets disconected from pc. Any way to fix that? Or mby im doing something wrong here? I'm starting to consider battery replacment which i dont want to do because it awful to replace battery on this thing.
What is it recognised as? Battery replacement may save you from having to go through the blankflash process if the device will not stay on while plugged in. Only use blankflash if it shows as qhsusb-bulk.

yes it showed up like that but like I said it wont stay on. I remembered one time when I got it to work this month. I was able to boot in to android , factory reset it but the problem was as soon i pluged in the charger phone went from 44% up to 89% in 2 sec then droped to 14% and then to 0 and turned off. I was able to turn it on again after that , it showed 44% like before the charger was connected then I tried to charge it while it was off and since then I haven't been able to go past booting screen since it just turns off after like 30sec on boot screen.
Mby i should just buy a new battery and see if that will fix it.

I was able to turn it on again after that , it showed 44% like before the charger was connected then I tried to charge it while it was off and since then I haven't been able to go past booting screen since it just turns off after like 30sec on boot screen.
Mby i should just buy a new battery and see if that will fix it.

I would recommend that or to take it to a service center. Using the blankflash method could brick the device forever (if it's just a battery/display problem), also you will have to live with another devices bootloader and resulting problems from that.

Well service center is out of the way since closest one to me is like 200km away . I should be able to replace it my self so no problems there. I just hope that maybe replacing the battery will fix everything since the phone is practicly brand new and it would be painful and expensive if it's not a battery problem but like motherboards or smth like that.

Well good news is , that i manged to get it to show up as the device with which i should be able to do blank flash.
The problem now is it won't stay in bootloader to be recognized as that device longer than 30 sec.
It just turns off after some time and pc automaticly wont recognize it anymore.

Reboot your pc, and connect the phone to the wall charger for about 10 minutes, then try again the blankflash, and when it's done just play around with the volume up/down buttons just to keep the bootloader on, and use the g5+ toolkit to flash the oreo stock firmware
in any case, this is the blankflash i used it

How did you managed to show it up as a device , i couldn't. I tried everything that i understood from written on these forums, installed qualcomm drivers , moto g5 plus drivers. The device doesn't show up in device manager, its just blinking and doesn't show anything else , i tried charging it overnight. The Led light does go away after a while when i put it o charging, but when i hold down the power button and volume down key it starts blinking again and nothing beyond that

Well for me it works like this , i leave it for about 12h (over night) untouched , then after that I can put it on charger and get in bootloader with holding down power button and vol down button at the same time. I have seen some other people that have revived their phones like this usualy they say to just leave it for 24h but for me it works after 12h. if u can get in to the bootloader
after those hours and the phone doesn't turn off (like mine) I would suggest that u leave it for charging in bootloader for atleast 2h and then try to power it on in factory mode thats how I got it to work one time. I hope this will help you.

Thanks for replying.
A few points to clear with 12 hours untouched ,do you mean i have to left phone as it is without even charging and if so after 12 hours for how much time do you charge it before getting it to bootloader and did you charge it with the moto turbo charge or just a regular charger or with computer.
