Like Killberty said , according to samsung after you make few local phone calls where you bought the phone it should be unlocked for worldwide use . If you want to be safe you could download and flash RegionLock Away from google . ( must be rooted and Somebody claims it's not working on MJ7 Firmware ) . All the best .

I called for more than 5min. Hopefully my fone will work on US carriers. btw it was written on box that the device will accept only the listed countries. Hope my luck will work. Thanks everyone for reply.

[Q] Region Unlocked Note 3

Hello, I live in Argentina and am a Movistar user. I am travelling to Madrid (Spain) and London this January and was hoping to buy the Galaxy Note 3 there and, naturally, I have some questions.
The version of the phone that arrives my country is the SM-N9000 but I want the SM-N9005 because of the Snapdragon and some additional features this version has. Is there a region unlocked version to purchase? Do I have to region-unlock the mobile phone myself? In that case, how do I do that?
And finally, do you have any reliable stores or retailers in those cities that you would recommend me? Maybe a Samsung store would be the best option, wouldn't it?
Samsung stated that u have to do more than 5 min phone callls with a local sim (country where u bought it) and its unlocked

I hate to tell you this but the best option is a Note 3 from Movistar Argentina - LTE bands in Argentina are different than those in EU (and so far I believe incompatible, there is a bounty to add the 1700 band to the international N9005 but no success so far).
2nd best might be a Note 3 from Movistar Spain - but those I would expect to be standard N9005 and you should get a guarantee in writing from them that it will also work in Argentina on LTE to be reasonably safe about it.
IMHO 3rd best is just the least expensive genuine EU N9005 you can get - surprisingly a version that is carrier-locked on a serious carrier COULD be a better option (since the unlock code is like 25EUR most and after that you will ALSO be region-unlocked even if you never root).

Note 3 SIM Network Unlock PIN in India Purchased from Saudi

Hello All,
I will appreciate if someone can help.
We have purchased Note 3 N9005 LTE from Saudi Arabia on 9th January and I have switched it on for the first time in India using Indian SIM card. Now it is asking for SIM NETWORK UNLOCK PIN.
I am aware that this is regional locked. But I am trying to find a solution. I already tried to purchase unlocking codes but seems there are no codes providers for phones purchased from Saudi Arabia region.
I am also aware of regional lock App, but it will void the warranty.
I wanted to ask will Samsung India or Samsung Saudi Arabia help us in this case? Did anyone experiencing the same problem found a solution without voiding the warranty?
I made a phone call to Samsung India and they said if I register it in India then there is a possibility that it may get functional, but I am not sure.
I request someone to help.
Thanks,
Did you find a solution?

I am stuck too... pruchased my n9005 from KSA, and it's not working with Indian SIM.

RegionLock Away only works with older firmwares afaik. You`re best bet is to activate it through Samsung. Register your device in India and if that doesn`t work contact Samsung again for more support.

How do I register my device in India?
Which Samsung should I contact? Samsung India or Samsung Arabia? And how do I get it activated?
The phone is currently in India.

Register the phone on the Indian Samsung site http://www.samsung.com/in/#undefined and choose Product Registration http://cybersvc2.samsungcsportal.co...n01.jsp?locale_id=in_en&ssoUseYn=N&ssoLang=en and contact Samsung India later for more activation support if needed.
Solution
Hello,
I managed to unlock my Note 3, however I sent it back to Saudi Arabia and they have unlocked it in their service center. I was charged 200 Riyals approximately 3200 rupees. However I heard software solutions are now supporting MJ7 as well? But I am not sure.
i have the simple solution
i have the simple solution, ........just email samsung "contact us" from the country of purchase
i bought a note 4 from saudi in jan 2015 , but indian sim do not work, ....in the box there is a pamphlet which says to unlock i must call (in/out) for 5 minutes...but i dont have a arabian sim, i contacted some local phone shops , they asked rs 3000 to unlock, i did not want to spend more money on a legaly bought phone...so i called samsung india, they said i have to contact saudi samsung, so i emailed samsung saudi, email is in arabic, but we can type in english....they repied with an email asking for model, imei, bill photo,...i sent it and they replied with the unlock codes ...and it worked

Region Unlock Code From Samsung

If you are stuck with Note 3 Region Locked 4.4.2 where CF's RegionLock Away no longer works , you can try sending an E Mail to Samsung Germany / Samsung Austria for an unlock code to totally unlock your Europe region locked note 3....I have a Note 3 N9005...I got it with 4.4.2 installed so I couldn't install CF's RegionLock Away app because as you know the app doesn't work with 4.4.2...From the last few days I was searching like hell how to unlock my Note 3 so that I can use the phone in my home country India...Hundreds of XDA threads & several Google searches didn't yield any positive results...I didn't want to pay for the 3rd party unlock services because many people in this forums have mentioned that , even after paying for an unlock service , their phones still didn't get unlocked...
So, what i did was , I sent almost 10 E Mails to different European Samsung customer care department like Samsung Romania , Samsung Austria , Samsung Germany , Samsung Slovakia etc...
Today I received an unlock code from Samsung Austria , Samsung Romania & also from Samsung Germany...I know it's only one single code but i didn't want to wait for a long time to unlock my N9005...So, I contacted almost 10 Samsung European country's customer care departments...And today I received the unlock code from the above 3 mentioned Samsung customer care depts...
So, no need to pay for an unlock code...If you have a Europe region locked Note 3 , just send emails to Samsung Germany & Samsung Austria & you will get your unlock code within just 4-6 days...
I'm really happy that my N9005 is fully unlocked now...
Thanks for reading...
EDIT :- Since there are huge number of messages coming in asking for the unlock req to Samsung, I have decided to post the format of the letter here in this thread..
So, read this post of mine here please :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56425244&postcount=75

If you can use your local SIM card with your N9005, then your Note 3 is already unlocked...I don't have clear idea why you can't use 4G...If your network provider provides you 4G LTE signal & you don't know how to connect to an LTE signal in your N9005 or if the LTE doesn't work , try changing the network mode to 4G ONLY using a software called " Advanced Signal Status " from Google playstore...

Try downloading " Advanced Signal Status " from Google playstore..Then use the app to change the network to 2G only & see if that works...If it doesn't work , then try contacting your local Samsung service center or send an E Mail to your country's Samsung customer care from here :- http://www.samsung.com/pk/support/erms3

If your phone is not under warranty , then Samsung care will still help you but it will not be free of cost...They will charge you for it but if the problem troubling you too much , then i would suggest you to take your phone to a local service center in Pakistan & they will service it for you for a price...Now, how much they will charge you that i can't say for sure but they should be able to repair it...

Issues importing US Note?

Dear readers,
I'm on holiday in the US, and tempted to buy the Note 3 (or 4) to replace my trusted S2.
Are there any unfixable issues I'll run into when I want to use the phone in the Netherlands? I've read about the region lock issues that can be fixed by rooting and using Chainfire's Regionlock Away, but are there any hardware incompatibilities? Different types of sim than available in Europe, or antenna band frequencies that I should take into account?
Thanks for helping me out!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Free mobile app
Netherlands uses Note 3 N9005 versions (International). The issue you might run into, is the 2G/3G/4G bands used, as they vary by countries.
Not sure, how easy it is to get N9005 in the US though.

I would stay away from it to avoid region lock as you mentioned but there is away around it i believe, Not sure if through root or not.

The frequency bands are incompatible.
2G will work without issue.
3G is a maybe depending on your provider and that of the phone. But mostly no. (And before anyone asks, getting a T-Mobile US phone does not mean it can run on T-Mobile NL networks. It won't. Yes I've had that question pop up before. Repeatedly.)
4G is an absolute NO.
Simcards are the same (MicroSIM).
RegionLock Away will take care of the Region lock (Yes it requires Root). But it won't solve the frequency issue, and you can't force N9005 firmware onto the USA devices.
Also, be sure to use it at least once, charge it before your flight and don't try to bring it through customs in the box or they will charge you the import and export fees.
You're better off buying one in Germany, Austria, Belgium or another EU country. (Fun note: The Note 4 will cost 806 euro's in the Netherlands. (With Media Tax). It's going to be 699 in Germany. (With Media Tax.))
I'm not sure Chainfire's region lock works on KitKat, actually I think it doesn't but I would like to be proven wrong. Also most carrier phones (like ATT or T-mobile) will be SIM locked as well and yeah, as already stated, some frequencies will not work.
Thanks for clarifying this guys, especially ShadowLea. I'll just get the phone back home
