Well i know that I'm talking about the file systems. Like for example. The galaxy nexus gsm and the verizon version was really the same except some of the files in the system. Other than that beside the cdma radio no difference at all

In my opinion, i went from at&t to sprint, then back to at&t. both carriers with the G2. was very impressed with the AT&T model. interface, speed, and battery life. then Sprint.... their model sucked in my opinion. battery life was terrible, did not like the U.I,slightly different. phone was not at its performance point, felt cheap. went back to AT&T and have never been happier.
what it boils down too.... AT&T far superior than Sprint who is going broke.(i think) what ive heard. here on maui anyway.
havent tried the other variants.
reply, there are tons of answers, just search and read threads

Sure but it's such a basic function it should just be default. It actually IS default on most manufacturers stock roms, but AT&T actually removes it. For example, Canadian One XLs have the ability to turn LTE off. AT&T version does not. Absolutely ridiculous for AT&T to go out of its way to remove that feature.

its not possible. ns4g was made for sprint specifically because it is a CDMA network. T-mobile operates on the more common GSM network.
You might be able to get it on Boost Mobile, and I've seen a thread about getting it to work on Metro PCS although it was pretty dodgy and I dont believe you even get 3g with that.

Are you on T-Mobile also? My wife's HTC One X also does better signal wise than my N4 in certain areas. I assume it is because her phone is a LTE phone and mine is not. We are with AT&T, and being on the LTE network vs HSPA is like night and day.

No, you are wrong about official, which is why it is disabled by default. I know it will work in limited areas, but it doesn't have the FCC approval to be sold as an LTE phone. Officially it is not a LTE phone, even though it has some hidden limited capability.

"Can be made to work with LTE" is a very very different thing from "fully supports LTE".
Sent from my Nexus 4
ahandlen003 said:
Not to be redundant to other posts but in reality its not different. "fully supports" can be classified as working on networks that have lte which the nexus 4 does. Just because we have to change a few settings doesnt mean it doesnt fully support lte. I get full 4g everywhere i live. I consider that to be fully supportive.

I guess that your definition of "fully supported" is very different to mine.
My definition wouldn't include the possibility of having to stick to old radios/ROMs to make a feature work, and it would include the possibility of ensuring Google help if there was a problem with that feature.

It is still being worked on the only reason there is an Att build available is because shelnutt decided after testing that the build was stable enough to be made public. Also the d800 shares the same hardware as the 802 except for an extra mic. It was by pure chance we have an Att build as shelnutt wasn't planning on building one till I asked him last night. Just happens that little modification was needed to make it work as a result Att should be getting night lies soon.

I would like to hear more about Wind Mobile's D801 because even though the model number is the same, there seem to be many differences!
For example, I read that the LTE modem is disabled. I'm not sure if this can be undone somehow so I'm feel pretty sad that I've bought a crippled phone.
Also, there currently aren't any methods to root it (except for the Chinese app method which apparently has some issue?).
And since Wind is a Canadian carrier, I think it's being overlooked since everyone thinks Canadian carriers all have D803.
But I hope progress on T-mobile D801 will help out on Wind D801 too!
Is there any update on T-Mobile cm?

Yea it's definitely dead in the T-mobile section. This phone is the minority unfortunately, so ROM development will be pretty scarce. MAYBE, when 4.4 comes out officially for it we will see all kinds of different ROMS.

Hey guys,
Just a quick question. When the Nexus 4 was released, it was pretty much identical to the Optimus G. People figured out how to flash the Nexus 4 stock firmware onto the G, and inturn the G turned into a Nexus 4, and received all Nexus 4 updates. Do you guys think this will be possible with the Nexus 5 and G2? I've just bought a G2 because I am too impatient to wait for the Nexus 5, and I'm hoping I'll be able to do it

The main board, kernel and other smaller parts such as sensors and memory will be different chips (most likely) so although the N5 software should be a, relatively, easy port to the G2 I would strongly recommend you don't try flashing your G2 with any software for the N5 unless it is specifically advised to do so.
You can't ever flash anything without modification or porting of some kind. Will it boot likely but not everything is likely top work either.

Im not entirely sure it would even boot. Either way you have a very high chance of causing some kind of software brick which although is fixable can be a long and annoying process.

There's just something about AOSP that I love, but not entirely sure what it is. I've had every Nexus device except the Nexus One, and I've loved them all, and they always seem to be the devices I keep the longest
There's high resemblance between CM and the stock Nexus 4, with CM having the upper hand with features the stock roms are lacking (e.g. the latest added call blocking). So, we're in good hands don't worry.

You can have AOSP on the G2 without needing the nexus firmware. And for the Nexus 5 firmware to work on the G2... it needs pretty much every inch of hardware to be the same... not just the main parts. Look at the development forums... theres already AOSP based ROMs
