TWRP and Kit Kat Rom (VERIZON) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, so I managed to get TWRP on my VERIZON G2 using Flashify. However, I did a back-up and rebooted and am lost on how to get back to the the TWRP screen. Any ideas on how to get back to this?
Also, could anyone help about getting a stable, mostly bug-free Kit Kat rom on my G2? Thanks

Terminal emulator - > su - > reboot recovery
Or power off - > press volume down + power on - > when LG logo appears release and press same buttons again and then power 2x to get to twrp.

I also cannot boot to recovery mode. Is there any other way? I cannot flash CM 10 because I can't go cwm
Please help. I am using the version v10k it is rooted. I have ROM Manager, I tried the ADB reboot recovery and the manual cwm volume + - home power. Please help.
Same problem
Have the same issue:
When i boot into recovery, either with volume + - home power buttons pressed or by using the "reboot into recovery" from rom manager i end up in a black screen with only the device keys lighten up. The only way to move further is to remove the battery from the device.
Have:
Recovery: CWM 6.0.2.8
Device: LG-P700
FW: android 4.0.3
Kernel: 3.0.8-perf
BN: IML74K
SW no: V10i
the official rom, rooted with the procedure in t he link bellow, supersu installed. cwm has been granted su access.
The recovery i installed first using the procedure from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486512 and had the black screen. THen upgraded / reinstalled using rom manager, and have again the same black screen.
Any help would be appreciated
Try to flash cwm again..

Have you installed BOOTLOADER? If you already have then you can do these steps:
1. Remove the battery and wait for a few seconds then put it back.
2. Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Home + Power Button
3. After the phone vibrates just release Power Button only.
4. Wait until CWM screen appears.
If it fails, repeat back from step 1 to 4.
Keep on trying. It works for me.

Hi and thank you for the answer.
I followed the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486512 "INSTALLING CWM(CLOCKWORK MOD)" section and after rebooting to recovery i got to the recovery options screen. Flash_Bootloader.bat did the work, as you mentioned bootloader.
Thanks for your help!
I'm having the same problem as many guys here (don't know how many have been able to solve it), i.e. after trying to boot into clockworkmod recovery, the result is nothing but a black screen and button lights on. My goal has been to flash CyanogenMod 10 from recovery, yet without success. I've tried booting manually pressing the volume up +, volume -, home, and power buttons, and via both ROM Manager and adb, always ending up with the black screen.
I've also tried to flash CWM several times in ROM manager and in addition to that I've followed the instructions given here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486512. (Entering the commands in Flash_Bootloader.bat and Flash_Recovery.bat files in terminal.)
I'm using rooted Lg Optimus L7, android 4.0.3, V10k, kernel 3.0.8-perf. CMW version is 6.0.2.8. Computer that I've used in the process is running Ubuntu 14.04 if that matters.
I appreciate any help!

Unfortunately, that does not make any difference. All I get is the flaming black screen.

This happened to me too...it often happened when I was too impatient to wait for the phone to shut down completely so I could enter recovery mode... If you still have a working OS just shut it down and wait for it to be off completely then hold both volume up and down + the home button then power button, when the LG logo appears then disappears release the power button and continue holding both volume up and down+ the home button till in recovery. If that doesn't work try removing the battery, plugin power source when holding both volume up and down buttons + home button (Crude method, but it worked for me).

[Q] Bootloop After Flash Stock Rom via LG Mobile Support Tool

Hi,
Currently facing bootloop after trying to flash back stock rom on my D802 which has custom recovery TWRP
Situation is like this:
1. Originally on stock 4.2.2 then to 4.4.2 OTA
2. Rooted via ioroot25
3. Custom recovery installed via Cloudyfa's AutoRec [TWRP 2.7.0.0]
4. Installed CM 11 nightlies via zip install in TWRP
5. Flashed to stock again via LG Mobile Support Tool [D80220A].
6. Bootloops.
I've read that this softbrick/bootloop issue is expected and one should do a hard reset by
1. Turn off the phone completely
2. Pressing the Power+Vol Down till LG logo appears
3. Release for 1 sec then press both buttons again
4. Wait for the Factory Reset screen to appear <<<< This never came to me, if i continue hold the buttons down screen will be blank and phone is turned off
I've tried reinstalling the stock rom on LG Mobile Support Tool multiple times but still it bootloops. The phone is able to enter download mode though.
Can someone please help? Thanks.

[Q] Can't Boot/ NO STOCK RECOVERY option for LG-D802? (D80220b-HKG-XX) Any ideas??

Recently i have updated the phone from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 by LG PC suite and OTA upgrade. During 4.2.2 i am able to boot into stock recovery by pressing power + vol down button, but after upgrade my phone was unable to boot into custom recovery nor hard reset. The LG logo just appear and disappears (Like how you force shutdown a phone).
My phone is unrooted and no custom recovery has been flashed. (I was a little worried for flashing custom recovery and start rooting since i cant boot into stock recovery in D80220b-HKG-XX
Does anyone experiencing this or is recovery accessible only after custom recovery has flashed?
Thanks.

Hi, There's many, MANY threads talking about NOT upgrading with OTA, instead install custom recovery and flash thru recovery stock KK with SuperSU.
I (and many) don't trust OTA for the same reason, sometimes something goes wrong and you have no custom recovery and no Rom. If you don't have experience rooting, unlocking, so on ,,, your best bet is go to your cell company and tell them you took OTA and your phone broke, they should be able to give you a new one since you don't have ROOT or Custom Recovery.
Hope this helps

NP, yes just go back to JB ->root -> TWRP -> flash stock KK -> flash SuperSU 2.x ->profit
If you want TWRP in KK just intall AutoREC.
The reset process is changed since 20b (i think I'm not wrong!?)
1. hold power + volume down until you see the lg logo --- release shortly (just release and after releasing 2.)
2. hold volume up + volume down instead of volume down + power

once you flash TWRP via autorec it will take you back to twrp (the old combination)
For now you can't boot to recovery(you might try "adb reboot recovery" - it might factory reset if this is your fresh installed kdz

Absolutely correct and these type of answers are incredibly HARD to come by since most of the youtube vids + google search results are methods prior to the 20b update.
For the users out there with the latest update, they will have a hard time searching for the right combination. With the latest update, pushing down button + power key again and holding it will only result in the phone powering off.
For the ultimate method, use ADB reboot recovery via PC to access stock recovery.
(If you have rooted your G2 before via IOROOT method, you would have noticed the existence of the G2's stock recovery menu when this command was executed by IOROOT during the root process.)
*Be Aware* Holding the Vol Up + Vol Down key will bring up the Factory Hard Reset. You only enter YES if you're confident you have TWRP custom recovery installed, it will not perform a hard reset but instead load up TWRP immediately. This is the only way to enter TWRP through the phone. But if you had stock recovery it will erase everything in your phone! (incl. camera photos and vids)
I've heard something about bricking the phone if custom recovery was installed and OTA update was performed. With the imminent Lollipop official release, most users need to be aware of this or refresh their minds readily to avoid themselves another round of headache...
Boy these LG phones are complicated to mod as compared to the Nexi or the Galaxies....

[Q] Is there an alternative way to power off the LG G2 (D805, Brazil)

Hi,
I decided to give a try to BlissPop but it didn't work well. The boot is stuck on the LG logo. If I press power, it reboots the phone, I can't power it off. Is there an alternative way to power it off so I can enable download mode to unbrick it (going back to stock)?
Let me explain all the process I did:
1) I use Cloudy G3 since last year (don't even remember when I install it) and TWRP 2.7.0.0
2) Moved back to stock using LG Flash Tool 2014 - KitKat 4.4.2
3) Root it using towelroot
4) Install supersu (chainfire)
5) Install TWRP 2.8.6.1 blastagator using Flashify (it all installed a specific busibox version that I don't remember the author)
6) Flash BlissPop-v3.2-d802-NIGHTLY-20150505-0931.zip, gapps-5.1.x-20150404-minimal-edition-signed.zip and lp-20150324-bloatware-removal-script-signed.zip

Normally, you should be able to poweroff the device; press power button for 30seconds/ 1minutes, it should be completly off. Then you should be able to access download mode.

lg g2 stuck on cyanogenmod logo

hello, Yesterday I was trying to upgrade my G2 d802 to cyanogenmod 12. I wasn't able to do a backup cause I didn't have a space, so I skipped on this stage. I succeed to upgrade to cm12 but my calls didn't work (after I set it) so I did upgrade straight to cm12.1 in the upgrade center in the setting. after that my phone was stuck on cm12.1 logo so I put the phone into TWRP mode and I install cm12 again.
Now my phone is stuck on cm12 logo and I can't go to TWRP or DOWNLOAD MODE but my computer detecting my g2.
What I can do plz help me
Fastboot or KDZ...?
You could try using the LG mobile support tool to perform a recovery.
Turn off the phone, press the volume down & Power together till you get LG logo, then leave the two buttons and then press them again till you get a reset prompt or recovery. If you get a reset prompt then use the volume keys to select "yes" then power button to confirm, you may have to do this twice. The phone will then enter into TWRP.
im using cm13 on g2. works very well.
But when install #supersu via twrp. its get stuck on the cm logo. can't even enter in recovery mode. Pls I badly Need help.
