Hello,
I'm now using the stock 2.6.35 ROM, but I'd like to have a working microphone while using headphones.
I'd really like to change to MIUI, but the r4tart's version doesn't have the "fix" that could be found for example here by ksatta:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397227
In short, I'd need a good custom ROM with:
- forced phone microphone while plugged 3.5mm
- wi-fi tethering
I wouldn't want to downgrade my phone, but I can do that if I must.
Please, could anyone help me?
ksatta kernel does not work with .35 MIIUI from ret4rt?
Problem solved
I installed the Elite ROM v.9.6 and the X5 Settings app included the fix. The default stockwell kernel worked.
hi all i have problem with wifi display eror no network i try flashing new kernel but the same eror please help me???
try flashing the rom again then apply the update, WiFi works out of the box, if you are not sure what kernel to use then just use the default one on aroma installer.
try to flash kernel
When I first install this rom my bluetooth wasn't finding any devices. I reflashed the rom and it worked! This should work to you too.
thanx all i solved the problem after three kernel i flashed
just curious was it the kernel causing problem?if so which one?I had a similar issue and it resolved itself ,I thought fixing permissions fixed my problem or reset but i also tried different kernels as well.so just curious.
Hello Together,
i found a very strange thing in the KTmanta Kernel (im using the new from 04/19/2013)
With the Stock Kernel in the Stock Rom 4.2.2 i have a much better Wifi Speed (in Speedmeter my 50MBit+)
now with the KTmanat Kernel i have around 25 - 30MBit...
Is this right? Now i cant anymore stream Fullhd with DTS to my nexus 10
With The Stock Kernel this is possible and works like a sharm.
Can someone help me?

It is highly unlikely that there is much of a change in the new kernel, add these lines to your sysctl.conf and see if there is a change.
Code:
net.core.rmem_max=524288
net.core.wmem_max=524288
net.ipv4.tcp_rmem='6144 87380 524288'
net.ipv4.tcp_wmem='6144 87380 524288'
net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps=0
net.ipv4.tcp_sack=1
net.ipv4.tcp_congestion_control=cubic
net.ipv4.tcp_window_scaling=1
net.ipv4.tcp_tw_recycle=1
net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse=1
You can also search for other net tweaks to add to build.prop or init.d script, just make sure any specific signal tweaks only have wifi or default in the lines, 3g/4g/umts/cdma are only for carriers. If you still can't resolve the issue you can always try another kernel like Trinity or stick with the default
KTManta kernel uses the latest wifi drivers and patches, so it is possible that one of these patches is not playing well with your router or the traffic in general.
Ok guys, the rom is awesome. Installed it on my HTC One... But: Changing the Kernel is really hard and you cant enjoy it... cause of one bad bug.
First, i installed the ElementalX Kernel for 4.4.2... jep, not usable... graphic-bugs whilst opening apps. Also the start-menue (reboot, power off, etc...) doesnt display itself.
There are black stripes all over the lower part of the display...
Okay, restored the default kernel: Everything good.
Installing all other 4.4.2 HTC One kernels: Same bug every time...
Is there any way to install kernels without this damned bug?

Kernels other than the one included with omni are not supported, as the team can't test every kernel in existence.
If there's a specific feature from a kernel you want, it can be submitted to code review: http://docs.omnirom.org/Main_Page - read the items under Development
Q&A for [KERNEL] [SM-G900F] [CM12/CM11] Boeffla-Kernel 1.0-beta1 (23-03-2015)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [KERNEL] [SM-G900F] [CM12/CM11] Boeffla-Kernel 1.0-beta1 (23-03-2015). If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Many thanks to our Lord for his hard work in last weeks.
Now it is a "real" S5 ))
Sound control?
The Boeffla control app v. 2.1.73 only offers volume adjustments in the Boeffla-Sound section. I tried running the Boeffla Sound Control App v. 1.7.1 from the market as well as a presumably modified version I found on XDA, but both force close immediately. Is there a way to take more advantage of the Boeffla-Sound options on this kernel (2.0-beta3-CM 12.1)?
Issue with CPU and GPU frequencies
Hello...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and i have installed CM12 with the latest kernel 1.0 beta3 and i experience freezes and hot reboots...
I have not overclocked anything as you can see from the pictures and i have left all frequency clock settings at default values, but when i go to CPU-Z i see the values of CPU and GPU overclocked...
In the attached images i have the default settings in Boeffla for CPU on 2457MHz and in GPU at 578MHz and in CPU-Z i see that max CPU frequency is 2.84GHz and GPU is 657MHz...
Why is this happening?
Thank you in advance for your help...

Issue with CPU and GPU frequencies
It is being answered by Lord Boeffla...
All is normal. Tools like cpu-z and others always display the maximum possible frequency, regardless of what you cap the frequency to.
So, it just shows something not correct.
You can verify that very easily by using tools like CPU Spy etc and you will see, these high frequencies are indeed not used unless you allow it.
The reasons is: These tools always assume, when overclocking frequencies are available, they are used. Which is not the case by default in my kernel.
nameless rom KLTE 4.4.4

edit- will overclocking freeze my phone? i tried ktoonsez's kernel and it froze my phone. i had to reflash /system and rom, thankfully i kept all my data.

Hello Boeffla,
i use your kernels since S3 and i was so happy when i read, that you also support the S5....
I'm very happy with the kernel and i never had problems with the kernel at all (using smoove, interacitve, conservative)!
I really appreciate when you further support the S5 development!

I tried this kernel (2.1-beta8) on BlissPop v3.6 (BlissPop-v3.6-klte-OFFICIAL-20150701-2254), but some features didn't work (ex: couldn't use tethering).
IMPORTANT: BlissPop is "customized" rom, so you must read and understand when want to use:

I would like to test this kernel with Exodus ROM 5.1.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/orig-development/rom-team-exodus-klte-t3135876). Is it compatible? If yes, how do I know what version of the kernel to take (CM11, CM12, CM12.1, Stock Lollipop 5.0)?
Thanks.

Hi, I am new to this. Just got my S5 today.
The phone still got Android 5.0 with TouchWiz on it (original Samsung firmware) and is not rooted yet. I want to install CM 12.1 later. What kind of kernel do I need now? If I install the kernel via Odin is my phone then rooted and ready to install CM 12.1?
Thanks for any help.

I installed Boeffla Kernel and CM12.1 successfully. All works fine. However, my phone always says that I have no root rights. Boeffla Kernel for sure is installed and is showing up in my settings. What can be wrong?

You have to enable root, or to flash SuperSU (a third party, actually the most popular root solution for Android.).
I would actually like to recommend you the stock CyanogenMod root, but I myself am using SuperSU for a while, and I would have to search how to use the stock CM root with 12.1.
So either install SuperSU app from the play store, and download this zip: download.chainfire.eu/supersu, boot to recovery and flash it, to enable Chainfire's closed source root, or Google 'How to enable root on CyanogenMod 12.1' to find out how to use CyanogenMod's own root solution.
Edit:
So I dont have to type everything (instructions how to enable CyanogenMod's own root implementation, IIRC, and if nothing has changed in the meantime, it is Koush's implementation, which is open source:
