Whoever decided that it shouldn't support folders should be fired.
I guess QuickPic will have to do.

I've never seen that before, I feel like an idiot.
Is there any way to get rid of the cloud folders?

I use titanium backup to freeze or delete the cloud album plugins, of course you need to be rooted. wish they would integrate dropbox

Maybe you can disable the cloud album plugins from the apps menu in the settings. Which doesn't require root.
I wish they would include an option to set which tab (Pictures or My albums) we would like to have as default.
The only one thing sucks in Sony Album, is the widget. I cant select pictures to be show, they are all mess up.

Hahaha... That's right, the mess in the widget is the only thing that bothers me, but the app is really good to my taste...

Make a file text empty renamed .nomedia and put it in the folder which you don't want to show in any album app. Reboot.

No it doesn't at all.
They should have made it make a lot of sense by making it display Albums first as default then pictures sorted by months on the second tab. Just like apple photo gallery. Nonsense.

I have too but I wonder what the catch is.
It's an amazing app, fast updates, and no ads.
What's in it for the developer?

Ok. I don't usually use the cloud back up for photos and the play memories. I have them all on my external memory card.
That's why basic usage is enuf for me.

So I've been searching all over to find out how to create different albums in the gallery and came up with a bunch of info but none of it worked till i found out that it is simply creating a folder of what you want the album named as and place that folder on the root of your storage card. Simple as that.
Having my pictures all unorganized into a single gallery folder is unnerving!
Gonna try this asap, thank you

What do you mean? Can't you simply remove or delete the media from that folder or delete the entire folder itself on your sdcard?

Yep, easy as that.
Heres another tip.
If you don't want a folder with images to become an album add a . to the beginning of the folder name.
This is the linux equivalent of "hidden" in windows.

Is there any way of hiding some pictures in the gallery app? I've got a bunch of pictures that's not supposed to be in there like album art of mp3s... I hope there's a way to hide 'em.
Download Quickpic from the market its free & much better than the stock one! It can do what you are wanting to do, plus more :0) hope this helps

There are a few apps in market that will do it... one that I can think of off top of my head is vaulty free.
Pandora is another app that allows you to set up a password protected private directory for those images you do not want to be seen.

I've been using QuickPic from day 2 and I never know off its ability hiding any pic.
I've had enough with the stock gallery app. So many issues like, slow to load albums, mismatched thumbnails, ... weird issue where I click on a saved attachment and see an old photo that's long been deleted. Frustrating to say the least.
Anyway, I've looked but haven't really found a worthy replacement app. I want an app that can do everything the stock gallery can do. Find all my image files on my SD card and organize them accordingly.
Quickpic.....all day. Try it, its free and frequently updated.
+1 on the Quick Pic. You can even tell it which folders to include and/or which folders to exclude.

Thanks, just what I was looking for!
Yeah it's super fast after the first time you look at a pics because it saves the cache.

I noticed that, that's a great feature! I actually find myself looking at my photos more. Always dreaded using the stock gallery app.

For real....way nicer to just spend a minute looking at pics. HTC should take a note.....
It also saves the zoomed version so its effortless and not dreading to look at photos.

Here's another vote for Quickpic. On AOSP roms it is a must have, but on Sense I can live with HTC's gallery.

+1 on QuickPic. Best ever!
Anyone else notice....it seperates the pictures all over the place inside the app. Anyway i can move them around into proper spots. Example, it has all my dled pics in three different downloaded folders...i just need one.
totally agree.
cant wait to root so i can get the stock ics gallery back
agreed! Looks cluttered and ugly. Are there any recommended apps to use in place of it?
I personally use tsf gallery widget, more cool! And fun!

I have tried to push several gallery apps and they all have the same look, I really hate the stock SG3 gallery app, what I would like is to have the same look as the gallery 3d version. I have tried quick pic, and its nice but I don't like the new look I really enjoyed the old 3d look. Anyone have any luck trying to get it installed, I can't get the gallery 3d apk to install. Thanks for the help
This thread delivers! Both of these recommendations are lightyears better than the included gallery. Thanks. Never really knew that I had such a problem with the gallery.
Does someone know how to switch it back to how it was?

Ok on the same note, there is always one album that's larger. That's the camera memory album. I want the external memory album to be the larger one.
