Can I use a att rom on tmobile Gs4 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app

I wouldn't. I accidentally flashed a NOTE 2 rom on my ATT GS4 and it HARD bricked it. Had to send it in for JTAG repair.

I run tmo roms on my s4. "would think" other way would work. you will need to flash your carrier kernel correctly
nandroid first

As long as you flash a TMO kernel after, you shouldn't have an issue. ATT will typically have more bloat.
You can do some more reading in the dev threads. Try the ViSiON-X thread. Have had good luck with that ROM.

Could any body help me out with flagging a T-Mobile stock rom on the ATT S4.

Thread cleaned...Starting over here folks.
Perhaps some users need more guidance than others, does that make it okay to be disrespectful?
To all users, everyone is expected to post with respectful and contributing material, if you cannot do that, than log off and try other website who tolerate that type of conduct.

Check out this Thread. It gives an idea of what Roms you can use and how to set them up. Basically you can flash a TMO Rom but have to also flash a Loki'd kernel. Then apply the APN and LTE for ATT.

[Q] Tmobile on Att

Just curious I have an unlocked I337. Wanting the tmobile Caller id that comes with the stock tmobile variant. Is there a way to port that to the att I337?:cyclops:
Have you tried to run a t-mobile Rom?

I have not. Havent had a lot of luck flashing roms on the s4. I might try sooner or later. Just tired of getting error messages and having to restore. I am rooted with motorchopper.

We don't even know if OP is on MF3. A suggestion like that could result in a brick.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he's on MF3 he has root, but no recovery, so he wouldn't be able to even flash a Rom to brick it

He could try to flash a recovery though to try to flash a rom and then he'd be sol.

There is no way you checked out those links that quick. And if you did, you would have clearly seen the answer to your question. Take some responsibility for your device. I have told you EXACTLY where to look for what you need, it is up to you to take the time to read and learn about it.
I read the entire post there was hardly any mention of the i337 mainly the m919 it says flash your kernel but which is that since I am flashing a tmobile rom on a att phone using tmobile service.

[Q] Bootloader

This must have been asked before in other threads, but just to get up to speed here ...
Do we know if the bootloader on the SPH-L720 can be flashed?
I know AT&T and Verizon haven't been cracked yet, but I'm hoping the Sprint model has.
Any details? Thanks!
-- Andy
The boot loader is cracked by default. No worries. With sprint you can crack flash until device blows up.
No
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
None of the bootloaders are cracked. We received a leak and sprint hasn't messed with us since. There is a big difference between cracked and leaked.

The Sprint GS4 has an unlocked bootloader. No leaks required. The fact that you can Odin a custom recovery and flash a rom right out of the box without even rooting should tell you everything you need to know.

So I can go ahead and get the L720 and do all the rooting and custom bootloading,
without having to worry if it's possible, like those Verizon folks?
This is awesome! I hope Josh is working on an S4 JellyBomb.

Almost any I9505 ROM will work on the I337 but I have avoided going over there just incase if I would fail to make a mistake. I can't afford to lose my phone and I feel GOLDENEYE is plenty.

It'll work fine as long as you flash a compatible kernel. I used Omega with KT Kernel on my i337m.
here is everything you need to know to which rom you might want to try...

Really ???
Go Into your sd card and find the ROM zip. That will tell you. You shouldn't be flashing if you don't even know what you are flashing.

I know what I am flashing bro. The problem was that I had to do a nandroid restore and I couldn't remember if that restore was on version 5 or 6 of Sacs Rom. I figured it was something simple but I guess not. It always used to show up on HTC.

If you read the thread before flashing, you should know what version of the rom you are on. Always pay attention to what version you are on. Take a mental note of it or write it down in the future. That rom has manyyy versions. I almost wonder if you skipped a step or flashed an update without the rom, but if you did, I wonder why you aren't bricked.

The only thing I did was dirty flash from ver. 5 to ver. 6
Sent from my Galaxy S4
Regardless of knowing what rom you flashed, seriously humor us and look at your sd card. If you have to, sort the folder by date added.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4
If the build prop wasn't modified to show the custom Rom version you can't tell from about device. The only real way to know is to look at version 5 to 6 change log. Find something that was added into version 6 and test it. If it works you are on 6. If not you are 5.
