Tried it and worked perfectly for D806, a few caveats
1) I had to download the latest version of the root app
2) i had to use adb.exe once to get the debugging authorization prompt.

Rooting my LG Optimus L7

Hey guys,
This is my first post on the forums, anyways, I've searched up multiple sites on trying to root the LG Optimus L7 including this website.
I have tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664322
and tried downgrading to V10a but it didn't work.
Phone stuff:
Model Number: LG-P705G
Android Version 4.0.3
Baseband Version: MSM7227A-1-AA
Software Version: V10c-May-10-2012
Please help!
Read it carefully!
Many members has succeed to root the L7 using method in the first page. V10c India and Indonesian version for model P705 can rooted directly use the rooting tools provided.
Ensure you do it exactly as described there

Have you checked usbdebugging mode? Install from unknown source? Disable LG modem in the PC device manager? Using correct firmware? (v10a europe open or v10 c indonesia).
Important thing! You should push enter while you have seen the locked screen while use LG.L7 Rooting Tools

Root tools cannot work that way. You must patched the system.img.ext4 with rooted one while flashing it. Follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31247149. It can root any firmware!!!

Hey guys, I rooted my cell phone a little time ago, and i just realized that there's a new method to do so with a new version of KDZ. so i decided to download it, and prepared everything to install it, but whenever i try to connect my cell phone to the PC I cannot make windows to "detect" the device in emergency mode, i've tried witH vol+, vol+ vol-, but they haven't worked. I've tried it with a lot of different Pcs, and different architectures (x64, x86)
Has it happened to anyone else here!!?

The fact that you can't use a different SU app strikes me as very strange. AVG mobile flagged the installer app as suspicious as well.

You can install supersu but you cannot update binary
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
I managed to instal supersu and update its binary - i followed this:
http://zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/
I want to confirm once more - Kingroot works on my d855 v20i TWN
SuperSU swap instead of Kinguser works with above tutorial
This worked on my d722 lollipop. Any idea on how to switch from kinguser to supersu? It updates the binary but supersu keeps saying i need to update the binary

I just mention this in post above:
http://zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/
U dont need supersu app. Its same thing as kinguser. U get su access anyway. U can delete app which is with chinese name or keep it. This app manages autostart installed apps and running processes. Or u can use any other app 4 that. As 4 antivirus is false positive. Mcafee has reportet it once als threat but on second install didnt report anything.
Happy rooting
Didn't work on my D852 and V20f. I had to use the manual method in the download mode.
I know I protested, but decided to play around today. Updated my phone (f460k) to 20j and tried king root. After about 20 tries it stuck. Converted to supersu and everything is running smooth
Confirmed... This works on the latest D855 V20i (TWN) model phones though it took me 3 tries to get it going. If it fails, just try again but make sure you phone is connected to the internet.
I then used this link to replace with SuperSU http://zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/ and then the 'autorec' app to install TWRP. Worked fine...

LG G3 D855 - No download mode and No recovery mode, only fastboot mode started

Hi everyone,
My LG G3 D855 is not entering into download mode. I also tried to boot into recovery, but fastboot mode starts. The phone is working just fine, but the problem is that it drops signals frequently and 3G/4G is not working as well. Don't know what's the problem. I have tried flashing laf.img, used LG PC Suit to update, but nothing is working. I need some help on that.
Thanks in advance.

D850 not downgradable anymore!

I just got a D850 and was trying to root by downgrading to kit kat using flashtool but when it goes into download mode and it's ready to flash it gives me an error. It looks like its not able to read the info from the phone as it comes up with "Model Information Check Fail". Kingroot is not able to root it either.
I've done this in the past with other G3s albeit they didn't have the latest patches. Could it be that the latest patch closed the door for downgrade?
Has anyone been able to downgrade a fully patched G3 D850?
D85030p
MDF v1.1 Release 2
Any help would be appreciated.

Model info check failed means it doesn’t know what model your using. You need to use the correct dll file for your model in LGUP
And of course kingroot cannot root it, it’s only rootable on kitkat

thanks for your reply.
Just to clarify, I'm. not using LGUP, I'm using flashtool and it's got the right dll. I've used this same setup on another D850 and it worked fine. I've have also tried different computers and USB ports and cables but nothing has worked.
Is it safe to use LGUP on a d850? everywhere I've read it mentions different models but not the D850.

You should be using LGUP if the device is running MM 6.0 or later, that would explain why your getting that error.
