[Q] Power button - left side sitting lower than is right side - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just noticed the left side of the power button sits lower than its right side as if its following the curvature of that edge. Anybody else have this? Or is the button sinking in?
Another way to see this is by comparing it to the volume button. The volume button appears perfectly horizontal while the power button appears tilted to the left.
Can somebody confirm this?

Hi,
It's perfectly normal!! As you stated it goes with the curvature of the edge, while the volume buttons are perfectly horizontal for being placed in a horizontal place. I see no problems on it, and I think you should only be more concerned if it actually implied in a problem.

small bump in the case near volume rocker

i have two i9505 from vodafone, both white, both with a small problem. near the down volume button on the middle case the case is a little bumped like half a mm, u can notice it by looking at the volume buttons and see that the down vol button is a little more in the inside of the case that that up button, also u can notice that the display frame case is also not perfectly allined there.
do u guys have this problem or i am the only "poor" guy that has 2 with same flaw!?
I can only say mine doesn't have this issue.

[Q] Hardware buttons - any improvments?

IMO Note 2 has a major flaw with hardware buttons placement, where volume buttons located on exact opposite side of power button, which means in my experience 99% pressing power button I accidentally press volume button too.
Does Note 3 have the same flaw or they actually shifted these buttons away from each other?
P.S.
Also I hope they didn't swap sides for these buttons, making power button on left.
Sorry to report the power and volume up/down are on the direct opposite sides from each other so when you hit power you are gonna hit volume 99% of time as well.
That sucks. Hopefully being narrower it wouldn't be as bad...
On N4 they better move power button higher! or...I'd buy it anyway, I guess...

How do you hold your Note????

I tend to hold my table vertically (maybe from coming from a Ipad) with the home button where its located it's impossible not to hit it or the back or menu button??? I know you can hold it upside down but just seems wrong? Is it just me? I hope I am doing something wrong???

If you're holding it vertically there is no "upside down". Upside down would be landscape with the home button up top. And that's why it has full rotation. You can hold it however you damn well please.
I'm digging portrait mode, holding it in my left hand and using my left thumb to hit the buttons.

I hold mine upside down sometimes, usually when i'm writing so i don't accidentally hit the buttons
If I'm holding the tablet in portrait mode, I hold it with my left hand with the home button facing right and I use my right hand to not the back button to go back on webpages etc. I do wish I can temporary turn off the home button and the capacitive buttons
I hold it with the button on the right (and I leave my back and menu keys lit at all times). Turning it this direction leaves the pen hole on top.
Get a fly grip gravity to hold it. www.flygrip.com

Not only how you hold it but how do you lift it from flat table using only one hand??? Impossible to do, big design flaw.
The small bezels on left and right side make it very difficult to hold in landscape mode, older version of 10.1 Note with speakers was somehow better. The best is Nexus 10. Best grip, best fit. My opinion.

Power button position

Anyone else think the power button should be a little higher to be aligned with the volume buttons. I'm right handed and it's a little in the way of my thumb.
Not really. Well in my case it's perfectly aligned with the way I hold my phone on my right hand. I have a bigger than medium sized hand, I think.

That's why they placed it there, to be in the way of your thumb.
It is 100 % placed in perfect area. I used to end the call by pressing power button and its position perfectly comes under my thumb while cutting the calls.
I have a small-medium (size 7-8 glove) hand and I find it perfectly placed. I'd hate stretching for the power button if it was higher.
It's placed perfectly for me as well except for the volume buttons, can't stand where they are placed.

If anything I think the volume buttons are placed a little too high
I agree with others here, power button is perfectly placed, volume buttons are too high, I'd prefer the volume down button to be inline with the power button.
Fact is that volume buttons are placed too much high instead xD
And I'd liked a nexus-way for screenshot taking: vol- + power, not power + home.
The first one is perfect for one-handed use, the latter is not.
Thanks, guys, for pointing out something that never used to really bother me before, but yes, now that you mention it, the volume buttons ARE too high. LOL

Power Button Click

Hey everyone. I have noticed that sometimes when pressing the power button, it makes a click noise and it takes a bit more pressure to press down, almost like it is caught on something. This usually happens if I push at the topmost part of the button, and then push the bottom part of the button. Has anyone had any issues like this?
