I am running the latest version of clockworkmod recovery on my 2012 Nexus 7. every time i try to flash a ROM I get "error 7, installation aborted" or simply "installation aborted" when trying to flash Cyanogenmod 11 or Purity ROM. Is there a way to fix this issue? Would using TWRP solve the issue?
Thanks in advance.

Every time i get "set_metadate_recursive: some changes failed" E: Error in /data/media/omni-4.4-20131128-i9300-nightly.zip (status 7) installation aborted
after that i flashed stock EMG4 with odin and PhilzTouch 5.18.5 but also the same as before

You need a recent (SELinux-aware) recovery
TWRP should be properly updated
I tried to flash a CM11 nightly and when the Nexus reboots, it just continues to go back to Clockworkmod. When I try to flash a nightly from the SD, it errors saying, "E:Error in /sdcard/0/cmupdater/cm-11-20131212-NIGHTLY-grouper.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
How do I get a ROM on the device from my computer so I can flash it?
heres my situation,
I have Custom Pac rom 4.3 nightly installed.
i have bootloader unlocked.
im trying to update it to Pac 4.4 [kit kat] rom.
PROBLEM: when i try to install the update rom, i keep getting
"Formatting system
Extracting system file...
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in sdcard/0/pac_moto_msm8960-nightly-20140417.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
"
any help in my situation?
Which recovery do you use..
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
AH i ended up fixing the problem on my own.
in case anybody else runs into the same problem heres the solution.
i was using CWM recovery, it was outdated so once i updated it and tryed agian to reinstall the rom. everything went well,
I tried both twrp and cwm philz touch recoveries and i have issues flashing roms.
In recovery the error message says something like "this device is lte not ltevz". I tried installing "ltevz" roms.
I was able to install liquidsmooth and once before Pacrom. no luck installing CM11 or anything other than liquidrom and pacrom.
what am i doing wrong?
thanks.
Hi, I'm on stock ROM Android 9 and want to update to Android 11 custom ROM. Is there any detailed guide on how to flash Android 11 AOSP based ROM from Stock Android 9?
I've tried flashing with TWRP and it's shown "unable to mount /vendor" and "unable to mount storage" warning. Proceed to flashed a ROM anyway and TWRP said "success" but when I tried to reboot system it says "no OS is installed are you sure you want to reboot?" or something like that lol. I rebooted and got bootloop, restored my stock ROM and here I am lol.
I clearly missed something during the flashing and hoping someone could tell me here. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
