So I saw if you go to Cyanogenmods official website and to "screens" there is actually a auto updater for the CyanogenMod.. (this forum won't let me post the link to the screens)
Saw this when I was rooting the rom, and then saw that its out on the Android Market labeled as Cyanogen updater or something of that sort, but no support for the Nexus One?
Is this on the way? And if so..if you update the rom like this, does it delete your apps? (The Google apps AND the regular apps)
Should be QA Section (or at least General)

The updater is currently for the 4.X series of roms, and until it is able to make a distinction between which device is currently accessing it, I don't think the current 5.X series will be on there. Eventually for sure, just not this week or next...
As for your second question, NO you do not lose apps (google or otherwise) with an in place upgrade of Cyan's Roms

Ah so it can't even update to the latest stable version? Not that it matters much if it doesn't even work on the Nexus..
Works Fine...
The updater works fine. Cyanogenstated himself that it was taken care of before the roms even started into beta. if you download it it recognizestje 5.0.2 Rom clearly. just look at it uptop.
Edit... Okay so I'm not sure if it works pretty good in going from a older cyan to a newer one. I do know that it does show that it recognizes the latest Rom...

So the updater does work for the latest rom? You also make it sound like there's support to install this updater on the N1 when everything I have read so far points to no.

Yes, just like the other guy said. He's already said the framework was already in place for the updater to work with the 5.x series.
He has not yet released the updates via the updater for 5.x because he led me to believe he wanted to get incremental updates working first otherwise it'll have to download the entire ROM each time... which shouldn't be necessary and is a huge waste of bandwidth.
Whatever his reasoning is, he definitely told me he plans on releasing the updates via the currently released updater that's in the marked at some point.
Yeah, new updates will come via the updater. Need to restructure the files on my server first.
Once Cyanogenmod updater works with the Nexus will it be released on the Market? I would think it would make it alot easier to install that way.
You guys kinda skimped on answering if the updater will ever work on the N1, what is the answer on that?
Really? Cyanogen himself just answered your question. If simple english is too much for you to handle maybe you shouldn't be on the forums. Sorry.
Yes, the updater will eventually work for the nexus one. Bye bye now

I'm sorry but what he said was that the updates will come via the updater..that means the new versions will be supported by the updater. Jackass.

Yes I know that..but according to the information on it in the market, it won't run on the Nexus. Is this not true or something?
Edit: I just downloaded the updater from market, it seems to run on the n1, just the rom supposedly doesn't update.
You're a moron.
The app is there, its been there. It was meant for other cyanogen 4.xxx series roms, so NOT for nexus one.
What cyanogen is saying is that soon it (THE SAME APP) will support the nexus one as well.

From Google Translate:
New Android 2.2 Firmware I9000XXJP2 (27-Jul-2010)
The I9000XXJP2 is still being tested by our Russian friends, and should soon (possibly today) on http://samsung-firmware.webs.com be published.
The description of the firmware is already confusing, because "P" means the 16th Months of the year .... July is really "G".
If someone faster than I should be: please post here the download link! Thank you.

It will be on Keis for anyone set to the XX region. Samsung-firmwares does not have the firmware yet, that is bs. Samsung leaked the news of release today. He will download it to his phone, back it up, then reupload it to his site.
Excited to see those numbers. But wouldn't get the hope up too high. Wth all the 3rd party fixes pushing the limit, I wonder how froyo will compare.

This will be on KIES in September. He's already flashed it and posted screenshots so your talking a load of crap.
I am not trying to get any one upset, But look again mate, those pics are from Samsung he even said so. Why do you think he will not upload now if he had it. You do not know the guy do you... He is one of the reasons, Samsung blocked the server so no one can get the firmwares before they release them. He does not "release firmware" he copies them and re posts them.

It seems that we get a TWLauncher shell wrapped around Froyo. Does this mean that we don't get the nice desktop I see on pictures of, for example, the Nexus One?
I'm confident we'll see a Froyo release as stated.
As to the origins of the firmware - who cares! It's a working Froyo build that can be pulled apart by the chefs, it may even be able to form the basis of a AOSP build.
Thanks for the news.

[NOTE]Hi. Ive been looking around the thread and I cant find an appropriate one so I just created one. Please let me know if there is redundancy that i have missed.[/NOTE]
This thread came from an acknowledgement that the Developer Preview still has some benefits especially to those who have been itching for major updates (like me hehe). The primary purpose is to maintain important files, and to share/talk about new features and stuffs, also some advantages.
Unfortunately, there is no one maintaining it yet. Especially for those who have missed the Preview sign up almost a year ago, having a link to try it out would be nice. Midgetmob's very comprehensive links dont have it yet.
Recently we've found out that Preview update 2 was released, FEATURING ANDROID N!!! Sweet right? Unfortunately, if you are not on the Developers Preview OS, you wont receive the OTA update.
SO please ANYONE, if you have the original file for the Developer's Preview for US-LTE, RoW-LTE, and WIFI versions, kindly share here The ones provided at the Vulkan Preview Thread no longer works. :/
Thanks in advance!

I'm not really encouraging well-principled people to break NDA but it won't matter when people can sign up here at XDA with a different username and just send a link to their uploaded file, right?
I might still miss out on the big picture though..
OK guys, in the other thread I've just been educated about the level of integrity here at XDA and I get it.
Since I've also applied for the Developer Preview, I will just ask Nvidia to resend the original link
I found my email from them, but when I attempted to reply it got sent back to me. It seems it's no longer working.

Since Silesh.Nair stated that he discontinued work there will be no other versions. Maybe it was uploaded by another one but the project is over. So no new versions.

If you read it they are both the same except for the camera api which is meant by the hal3. The difference is therefore only the camera quality as stated.

That's already a simple answer, there in no other difference.
hal3 means picture quality will be better but will require reboot for chop-chop to work.
Normal means picture quality will be less than hal3, but here chop-chop gestures work fine...
There is no other difference in terms of battery/stability/tweaks/anything...
Got it now ? Then read XDA rules, that says search before asking, it's answered many times..
thanks 2 both of you now its clear

If on 4.15, and running 'check for updates', you'll get a notification that 4.16 is available.
I think it still was created by Silesh (only he has the sources to do so, afaik), and contains Dec 5, 2017 security updates.
However, it was created after he left, so it is somehow a 'blind' install.
I'm running on 4.16 since a few weeks, it seems to be ok.
