[Q] Helium does not restore anything - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
i switched with my D802 to the PACman rom, and tried to restore Data/Apps from my Backup. The App is able to see every backup but always says "There was an error while restoring" (translated out of german, do not know the exact text). I got a superuser message and clicked on "unknown sources" in the security tab of Android.
Any idea?
Thanks!

can i reflash 2.3.3 over itself?

Can I use clockworkmod recovery to reflash the 2 part pre rooted ginger 2.3.3 over itself?
I installed it and then used ti backup to make a backup of android market. Then I uninstalled android market thinking that I could restore it from ti backup. Not the case. Now I am stuck with a halfway functioning, older version android market app I found online.
I'm thinking the best way to go about getting things back to "normal" would be to just reflash 2.2.3, however if someone can tell me how to reinstall anrdoid market to fully function again that would be nicer.
Yes you need to reflash. It can be done by the update.zip method. There is also the 4.6.8 update available as a zip file now.
Dont try to tinker with google apps. Most of the time you cannot undo what you did
where can I get the ota zip file? thanks!
I have a somewhat similar problem. Before the OTA update went out, I was running a rooted 2.2.1 with TI. I had removed a few apps that I didn't like, but nothing specifically a "Google App" (unless the "Emergency Alerts" app counts as one of those).
Well, today the update became available for my device and when I went to download and update, it simply restarted my device and said "Update has failed."
Now, when I go into TI, I'm unable to reinstall the Emergency Alerts or even see that it's one of my backed up applications that was removed.
Ideas?

[Q] Please Help: System UIDs Inconsistent + Error code "-24" - nothing works..
Hallo all! I really HOPE someone might help me with two really annoying issues:
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 Black-Edition (Modelnumber: GT-I9505). From day one I rooted the phone
(CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5)
but still use the samsung stock Rom. My Android version is 4.4.2 and I had the genuine firmware-version I9505XXUGNG8 from the Samsung homepage (sammobile).
.. Since the update from the firmware-version I9505XXUGNF1 everything has been working perfectly for three weeks, but yesterday when I restarted my phone suddendly the error massage "System UIDs Inconsistent... [...] need to wipe [...]" appeared before I was asked to type in my PIN. I Ignored the message and started my phone as usual, but suddenly my nova prime launcher lost some of its homescreen shortcuts and all of the widgets. Note that this "System UIDs Inconsistent"-Message appears each time I restart the device.
.. After manually restoring the shortcuts and widgets on my homescreens I noticed that power amp was missing. Ever since I was trying to reinstall it from the google Playstore I get the error message "Unknown Error code during application install: "-24" ", so I'm not able to get that app again (I got the premium version - can't download/install the unlocking-key file either).
I got the premium version of titanium Backup installed and did a complete backup of all user and systemapps (app + data) a month ago , but I simply can not find the power-amp entry in my backup!! Does anyone know what filename to look for in the titanium backup-file in order to restore the poweramp app??
Those two error messages ("System UIDs Inconsistent" - "Unknown Error code during application install: "-24"") are really driving me crazy, so does anyone have an idea what could be the cause for those issues and how to fix them? Is there anyone sharing the same problem? What could I try to solve that problem?
I'm VERY thankful for any sort of help!
No one sharing the same propblem??
A small update:
I deleted the Cache and all Data from the Google-Playstore App and I deactivated it.. After I reactivated the Playstore app the error-message after rebooting dissappeared ( "System UIDs Inconsistent... [...] need to wipe [...]" )! .. So one problem is remaining!
Still cannot install the poweramp app! Still get the error-message "Unknown Error code during application install: "-24" ", although the app is NOT installed on my device. I removed every 'com.maxmpz'-entries.. Note that I did a Titanium-Backup BEFORE the problem occured for the first time, but I am not able to restore the app using Titanium.. Titanium-Backup starts to restore poweramp bu nothing happenes (Process-Bar always stays on 0%).
.. So PLEASE, can anyone help me?? I want my poweramp back!

Since you've rooted your phone im guessing you have also installed twrp or cwm. Your best bet would be to make a backup of your rom, apps, texts etc, wipe your cache and dalvic cache then reboot to see if this solves your issue. Otherwise preform a factory reset and reboot to see if the problem persists.
Probably the cleanest solution HERE

Many apps stopped working after running "Fix Permissions" from TWRP???

So I first installed root for S5 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537
Then I decided to install TWRP from here via Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697762
And after that I executed "Fix Permissions" in TWRP
and after that when system reboots it shows "Android Upgrading" message for a brief moment, and ten few dozens alerts show up saying "APP_NAME stopped working".
Then I re-installed the same root via Odin, but then when the phone boots, it shows the message "Android upgrading <br> Opening apps". This message is shown for about a minute or two and then again, few dozens alerts show up saying "APP_NAME stopped working".
I think this "Fix permissions" messed up the phone, so I'm wondering is there a way to fix this without factory reset or installing new ROM???
Regards
Why did you wanted to fix them? Wre they broken? Well, now they are.

I can't install anything out of playstore

Hi everone. I have a samsung galaxy on7 with root and twrp. I used to install any app that I want, but last week I just get this message for ever app that I try install: "App not installed". When I try install this same app through the playstore I get normal. I'm wait for anyone that can help me.
*The "unknown sources" is checked. I tried freeze playservice and failed in install apps too. I tried install any app like gmail, chrome, everthing and shows the same message.
make it stock
Flash it to stock and everything works well. Had same issue and stock rom fixed it.dont flash gapps.

Wifi/settings keeps force closing

After recently rooting and installing latest TWRP on my s7 edge (enoxys 935f), I have tried to install different roms. However each time I install a rom, even if i "Format data" and fully wipe prior to rom install I get an error when using the phone when trying to access wifi settings. it seemingly tries to open the screen then force closes and says "settings has stopped" with the option to "restart app". this has happened on the superman rom , renovate, and Tmobile volte+wifi calling etc rom.
Don't know whats up and how to fix this? I am able to connect to wifi that i specified in the startup of the phone when it was asking for my google account etc but not able to access this settings.
Thanks!
PS how do i make a log report if you need to see a log?
