Google plus question - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi and thank you for reading this...my question is sort of generic I have a nexus 10 running 4.4 ROM and a galaxy nexus (Verizon) phone running a 4.4 Rom also. (I have my favorite ROMs for each but try many here and there. Enjoy them all).
My question has to do with Google + data usage on both devices. I've noticed recently that by the end of the business day my tablet is almost drained and having my phone on between 6 am and 10 am, the dead battery alert is sounding.
I'm not a user of Google + other than letting it back up my pics (10 or 12 a week). When I check my battery usage Google + was somewhere in the range of 350 and 550 megabytes while every thing else is under 50 mb. When I disable g+, data usage reads a high number under the heading of 'disabled' (or uninstalled) apps but the battery is still dying.
Again I don't think this is rom specific. Is any one else experiencing this? Is it a bug in 4.4+?
Thanks again...

[Q] Google Play Store shows very high background data usage

I have CM 10.1 Nightly with Mako kernel. The data usage monitor is saying Google Play Store has used 27+ GB of data. I have a 16GB Nexus 4 so that cannot be right. T-mobile SMSed me that I recently went over 4GB which sounds right.
Why is Play Store claiming it used so much?
I heard that the rc3 release of cm10 had an issue with math process when calculating data usage. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Try the newest version or another rom see if it reports the same usage.

Upgrade to rc4. There was a calculation error.

I am still having this issue on RC4 recently, from my data usage counter on nexus 4 it is showing that i have been using 11GB for the past 5 days, from Jun 6 - Jun 10. Top usage from playstore with background usage of 2GB and background usage from Chrome of 1GB.
How is it possible that background usage can amount that such a figure? If 11GB of data traffic is being transmitted from my nexus 4, my battery life should deplet within a mere few hours. But my battery life have been nothing out of the ordinary, a full charge last me a full day till the evening when i reach home at about 7pm with a remaining battery percentage of 30%.
I have a screenshot but i cant post link under 10 post count, Sorry.
By the way, even if it was just a calculation error, you can limit the amount of automated actions the play store does by turning off automatic updates on a number of apps you don't wish to be automatically updated (or limit them to only do so over wifi, which is usually an option that pops up for larger than normal apps).
Personally I'd probably freak if I saw 26GB transferred, but then I would blame the measurements because I usually monitor traffic on my routers/etc (plus on the mobile network, I wouldn't have been able to transfer that much in such short period of time).

[Q] Galaxy Note 3 (T-mobile) apps to kill for best battery life

Hello all,
I need you all to know that I have been searching and reading all the sub forums to no avail. I did picked up one tip stating to disable google play services which I did, but I keep getting warnings that other apps need it to function correctly.
It has been really bugging me that my GN3 with full T-Mobile 4G coverage (and wifi calling/data) has worst battery life then my GN2 on non-existent Sprint 3G coverage (wifi air-rave at home). My GN3 battery stats were great at first but then on the fifth day or so my "Media" usage details started cooking 35% of my battery daily while actually making the handset hot. I'm talking at the rate of going from 100% battery to 45% in 2.5 hours!!! With the brightness at only 15%-20%.
I also disabled and uninstalled updates on all the apps that were drawing ram/data that I never use including Ant radio services, Ant plugins, Chaton, Bloomberg+, HP print services plug-in and all the google play apps except play store.
So yesterday into today was the first cycle with all the above disabled and I am at 1day 16hours w/ 4% battery left. That includes a 10hr work day with 1.5hrs commute where I logged 20+ phone calls with just over 3.5+ hours talk time via bluetooth, 100+ text messages, 50+ emails and a few minutes of internet searches/browsing.
Obviously a huge improvement, but what else can I do to extend the battery?
Thank you all in advance and sorry if this is a noob question. The limitless knowledge on xda-dev is fascinating.

I haven't disabled anything and battery life has been awesome compared to my old Nexus 4. 17 hours with 2 of screen in time and still had 63% this afternoon. Also running T-Mobile here
Maybe lookout can influence that I think.

Battery problem on Nexus 4

Hello everyone. I recently bought a new Nexus 4,and was supremely satisfied with it. But around one and a half months after purchase, it seems as though the battery dies a lot faster than it used to. A note must be mentioned that since the battery percentage isn't shown by default on the status bar, I installed a third party battery app from the play store. Is it just my imagination or does the battery really die as fast as I'm experiencing it now? My usage of the phone is fairly heavy, with a lot of browsing through 3G,and I go over to my friends house to run torrents on his wifi (with his permission of course). The battery under constant use lasts around 7 hours with 10-15% left. I'm using the stock Android atm, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. I'll consider flashing a custom rom after a few months, seeing as the phone is fairly new.

It's impossible to analyze battery problems without screenshot's of your usage and SOT (screen on time).
I'd even suggest to install BBS / WLD in order to troubleshoot if any program is keeping the phone awake etc', but first we need to see the battery details.
Your stats don't seem that bad to me.

Bad battery or most probably a loose battery connector.. Take the back plate off and check if its connected properly
(If you don't feel comfortable opening the back Plate.. Just send it back.. Get a new one) Make sure you return to stock

[Q] Battery life seriously sucks... HELP!!

Hey guys
Need some help here
So my nexus 7 2012 wifi, bought in Australia in December of 2012 has gone haywire and I don't have a clue why
My battery life... Which was awesome till some time ago now socks!
My battery which was 51 % when I started watching an h264 encore movie was around 5% by the end of it... And the movie was exactly 3 hrs long
I don't now what the problem is
My battery has depleted by 10 % in the last one hour
Lemme give you a list of the apps which may be causing the problem
1.whatsapp
2.viber
3.tango
4.skype
5.xposed framework with
5.1.youtube adaway
5.2.greenify
5.3.Keepchat
5.4.gravity box
5.5.swiftkey goodness on more fields
My nexus is stock rooted with stock kerne and running the KOT49H android version
I use SwiftKey by the way.. Just in case
This has been happening since the last one month around I think after I installed xposed but even then there must be thousands of nexus 7s running xposed and mine is causing problems
I'm a moderate user and use it mostly for browsing and listening to music
I just installed whatsapp. But already had tango viber and Skype before all this.
What do you guys thinks... Is it because of the aged battery or some other software component. I have tried factory reset and the battery test using the movie as a reference was conducted without installing xposed after I had factory reset my data but whatsapp had already been installed by that time.
Please help guys... I love this thing and I don't wanna lose it to battery troubles!!!
Update guys...
At 8.23 pm my battery was exactly 50%
By 8.43 pm it went down to 45%
Thats a decrease of 5% in 20 mins
And this is with light whatsapp usage and browsing and that too for not more than 10 mins
Other than that the tablet was asleep with wife switched off
And also forgot to tell you guys the wifi is troubling me a bit too. But I suspect that may be due to connection problems due to the distance between the two devi es and also it does take a little time to connect to the internet even after the signal is shown as fully connected. This started today.
I'm freaking out. Help XDA crowd!
Get gsam. From play store. And be sure to open it once. Charge to 100 and let it go til you're pretty low.
Then see what its saying. It usually can help find most battery issues. Post screen shots from gsam here if you want help.
Good luck!
