Hi,
Ive got so many conflicting reports but I would just like to know whether a Motorola Atrix imported from America (unlocked) would work on T-Mobile 3G in the UK.
thanks
I just got back from UK and GER, and at least for Voice and SMS, the Atrix worked just fine in O2 UK, Vodafone UK and T-Mobile networks. Did not try data roaming. I'm using AT&T Atrix with AT&T SIM; USA based.
It's a quad band phone, so you'll be fine importing one and using it in the UK (assuming it isn't locked to a US carrier).

I have one, just imported it, works just fine and I'm on T-Mobile also.
I imported an atrix and currently in germany using tmob...calling on 3g doesnt work as it reboots the phone when i do this. Users from belgium are reporting the same thing. Changing the radio to gsm only is a work around thou

I bought it off ebay with laptop dock for $650, got stung at customs with £124 charge but still well worth it.
I would really love getting the dual SIM version of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 as it would allow me to carry one less phone with me. But in the end I'm not sure if the pros outweight the cons.
Pros:
- Able to use two SIMs in the same phone
- Exynos 5 Octa, which will see very limited availability in Europe
Cons:
- China Unicom specific version
- No international warranty outside of China
- UI may not be available in English?
- Will be stuck with the stock Chinese firmware as the ROMs for i9500 / i9505 will not work on this
Is anyone else considering buying an i9502 to be used outside of China?

I would like to have i9502 and I have the same questions and worrying about the warranty outside of China. I'm gonna wait till it is available on eBay. I hope that some companies could give at least 12 months international warranty for this device.
I am thinking of buying one for use world wide. I assume no one will be developing a custom ROM for this version.
Is there a way to install the Play Store and Gapps?
As the S4 should be highly popular, we might see more developing for the exynos chipset. Once they come out with the aosp base for it, developing for the variants should be easier.
Since i9502 is China based, we should see a MIUI Rom for it soon

I thought samsung released their official rom for this phone? Doesn't it therefore mean that we can root this without any bugs? I remember the Note 2 dual sim custom rom had bugs on the map and caller id.
Can someone verify that once using the official rom, play store and Google apps will be available?

The only way to install Play Store and Google apps is to root the phone. Unfortunately, there's no available rooting method yet for Galaxy I9502. But I'm hopeful that it will be available in the future. Like the Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7102 Dual Sim variant, a working rooting procedure was eventually made available.
I have ordered my Galaxy I9502 and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I ordered from taobao.com thru an agent in my country. Just need to choose a trustworthy seller. Or you can order from etotalk.com but the price is a little higher and payment method is not safe.

No, I'm optimistic a rooting tool will be available once this phone is released.

Based on offical specs, I'm very sure an unlocked SGS4 I9502 will work in my country and Europe too.
Here's why:
SGS4 I9502 Supported Network Frequency:
WCDMA 850/900/1,900/2100MHz
GSM 850/900/1,800/1900MHz
GSM Coverage:
GSM 900 / GSM 1800 MHz are used in most parts of the world: Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East, Africa.

3G Coverage:
In general, the various UMTS bands are deployed as follows:
Band I (W-CDMA 2100) in Europe, India, Africa, Israel (Cellcom, Orange, Pelephone[4]) Asia, Australia (metropolitan Optus and Vodafone), New Zealand (ITU Region 1, 2degrees Vodafone NZ), Thailand (TOT (Thailand)), and Brazil (part of ITU Region 2)
Band II (W-CDMA 1900) in North America and South America (ITU Region 2).
Band IV (W-CDMA 1700 or Advanced Wireless Services) in the United States (T-Mobile USA), Canada (WIND Mobile, Mobilicity, SaskTel, Vidéotron) and Chile (VTR Movil, Nextel Chile)
Band V (W-CDMA 850) in Australia (Telstra NextG, Vodafone), Hong Kong (SmarTone), Thailand (True move and DTAC), New Zealand (XT Mobile Network), Brazil, Canada, the USA, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic (Claro),Venezuela, other parts of South America, Israel (Pelephone,[4] Cellcom[5]), parts of Asia (ITU Region 2 and ITU Region 3), Poland (Sferia)
Band VIII (W-CDMA 900) in Europe, Asia, Australia (Optus and Vodafone regional/country 3G networks), New Zealand (2degrees, Vodafone NZ), Thailand (Advanced Info Service), Dominican Republic (Orange Dominicana), Venezuela (Digitel GSM), Poland (Play and Aero2 HSPA+ Internet only[6])

I bought mine in China and used it with China Mobile and my US T-Mobile SIM cards installed at the same time. When I landed back on US soil, it automatically switched to use my T-Mobile SIM. I haven't had any problems so far.
Does that mean you have Google apps and play store?

Depends on the US network you go with. ATT, Verizon, Sprint all have their own models with different bootloaders + bands etc. - The N9005 *might* work with T-Mobile, but you'd have to check out the T-Mo forums and the other US variants forums on XDA first.

The question should have more details - WHAT US telco? Will you have a SIM from that carrier or you will be roaming?
As a generic start - with international (sim-unlocked or roaming) N9005 I believe you will get voice and 2G with AT&T and T-Mobile, don't know about Sprint, Verizon and the other carriers. Almost certainly you will not get LTE on all of them, possibly on any of those.

By the way I have read something interesting about quad band thing
http://www.phonescoop.com/glossary/term.php?gid=139
and based on the info here

Things are more complex than it looks so you should really look/ask into the Q/A subforums for those:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-tmobile
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint
(those are also listed in an order starting with those most likely to work and also have prepaid cards, but again I believe even those SIM cards have to be activated so ask for more details there).

Buy only GT I9505 that is LTE for use in your country.
Next is question about what US carrier provider to choose when back home.
have a nice stay there.
You can buy any GT-I9500 3G or GT-I9505 4G-LTE.
Galaxy S4 black edition is also available..
GT-I9505 4G-LTE & S4 Black Edition are preferable though

I think Global? It comes with CM11S based on their spec info.
yes it's a CM11S firmware not the ColourOS
It'll be the Chinese version but with CM11S flashed on it. You can only buy the international version directly from OnePlus.

i think it's the china variant, even the unit i got was flashed with CM11s out of the box, same with some of my friends that have gotten the china variant

LOL, as the china variant is compatible with all the telco in malaysia, and the OP doesn't directly ship here, i think 90% of the OPO sold here are the china variant.
Yup. Positive its a china version. Btw did anyone using the china ver manage to get lte in malaysia?

As read on lowyat.net forum, some guy claims that they could get working LTE on celcom and digi. I've tried on umobile at subang which has LTE coverage but still no luck. Tried with multiple radio. Still no luck
My LTE works fine on DiGI
have you replaced your sim card? to a LTE sim?
Great deal, but unfortunately shipping only on Malaysia no international shipping.
brought mine from DirectD SS15 (RM1318 64GB), the box already opened. Most likely it came with ColourOS and they flashed it with CM11S.
mine is china version and LTE was working fine with Maxis. Turn off anyway since 3G is enough for me so far.
LTE works, both on my maxis and my celcom. Try around other custom ROM. PA,Omni,.. Still get LTE..
All the OPO you can find in Malaysia are the Chinese variant. I can confirm that. The "open box" is because they open it and flashed CM11S onto it. However, good news for all Malaysians looking to buy the OPO is that all LTE bands currently available from the local Telcos are working, including the newer ones like DiGi, where the LTE band used is B7 (2600)
