WiFi not connecting

Phone is rooted. Twrp recovery.
I have flashed Franco, stock, matr1x. Kernels and no luck.
The phone was always disconnecting from WiFi after 4.4.3 update. But one day it stopped and I usually restart to fix and nothing. From there, I started to try different Kernels. Nothing has worked.
I resorted to factory restore. And I did it twice. Nothing.
Weird thing is when I factory restored, my pictures were still there. Yes, I'm 100% I did a factory restore.
All my apps were deleted but just my photos were there. Is this some sort of twrp safety feature or something? I'm on stock rom.
It will scan WiFi but will not connect. Some WiFi isn't even shown. My works WiFi is not even listed yet, my house is.
I'm out of my high speed data and I'm now suffering 2g speeds and nightmare battery life from the data. Can someone help me?

Have you try the WIFI Fix?

I have. But I'll try again. So far I'm now 99% sure my WiFi is defective from a hardware point. . Completely flashed fresh stock 4.4.4 and 4.3. And reflashed 4.4.4 and nothing.

Strange Behaviors

So I had been running the unnofficial 5.0.2 CM lollipop on my phone for a while when I finally decided I would do a full wipe and flash the latest version of it (1/26). Prior to the full wipe, the phone had been running fine. But since 1/26, it started depleting battery rapidly and it had tons of input lag. So... I wiped again and went back to what I previously had... only, my problems did not go away. So then I decided I would wipe and go back to CM11. Now, it is a little better, but still is having odd lag / behavioral issues.
My question is this.... I did several full wipes. This doesnt seem to be resolving my issues. I am guessing that wipes dont really get rid of strange behavior. Is there another step? I tried the "repair" option in TWRP but that didnt help much. I am using the latest TWRP. Should I odin a factory ROM then re-root everything? If so, does knox become removable, or am I stuck with it?

When WiFi is turned off I get 'Unfortunately System UI has stopped'

This is on two standard Galaxy S5's, with standard ROM, etc - not rooted, or anything else.
Every time I turn off WiFi, or enable Mobile Hotspot, I get 'Unfortunately System UI has stopped'.
To fix I have to Power off/on the phone.
(Turning on WiFi is no problem, just turning it off.)
I have gone into 'Safe Mode', and same issue, so it looks to not be a bad App.
I have also uninstalled 'Google' updates, and again no change...
Any thoughts?

All of a sudden my S5 showed the exact same error message for no aparent reason... I didn't do anything, and now I can't use my phone at all because of that bug. It happens on every boot so I can't even unlock my phone. Tried reinstalling everything, ROM, recovery, kernel, with/without root = still same, what just happened here??
EDIT: Same thing if I'm in Safe Mode -_-

Seeing noone knows a solution here's what I did yesterday.
1. Backed up all my stuff from internal storage to the sd card
2. Did factory reset in TWRP recovery
3. Flashed completely stock official firmware from Samsung
4. Waited for it to boot up and try to restore some of my settings (it restored all folders on their places, made same amount of home screens as I had before the reinstall and downloaded all of my previously installed apps from the Play Store, ofcourse without the cracked ones, and it also restored most apps' data as well so it's not as bad as you may think to factory reset and reinstall everything)
5. Started rooting, flashing TWRP again, installing Dolby Audio, Xposed and everything I had before, took me one full day to set it up as it was before.
Now when I set it up I always make a nandroid backup from when things are working fine, in case it goes crazy for no reason again... Good luck!

when the wifi radio is acting weird, a dirty flash of your current ROM susually fixes is as its probably a radio issue. Id do that before doing anything drastic like the boot-n-nuke Odin flash and starting from scratch (which will fix that issue)

I don't think I have a ROM issue, as I have two S5's, and both have the same issue... and both are standard ROMs.
I will do a factory re-set on one at some point, but this looks to be a 'simpler' issue.
I have tried a full Cache delete, as well as other 'clean' processes.
Nothing works.

I tried to re-flash my stock ROM as @youdoofus said but still had that annoying popup. Try everything you can think of, if all else fails, reset.

well, you can wipe cache, and dalvik 3x each (not kidding about the 3x each), then dirty flash the rom, pray to the gods of android, reboot. If failure occurs, its Odin Nuke time unless you want to try to flash an individual radio file by itself (not recommended)

Stuck in recovery mode loop

Hi guys
i have a custom rom, nougat 7.1 installed and its been working fine. last night i installed an aftermarket battery replacement as the other wasnt holding a charge. after turning on by simply pressing the power switch it went straight to twrp recovery and kept doing so. this morning i cleared the cache and data to start again which was a bit of hassle and it then booted fine. however, i just restarted again and its in the same loop.
i have checked for any obvious obstruction under the rear case that could be pressing against the volume keys but there isnt anything.
any ideas?

i didnt really want to do that unless i really had to. as i say, before the battery swap it was fine

But if you cleared already cache *and* data all your data is already lost, e.g. it's like a factory reset. So flashing a new ROM will not worse the situation ...

well, i just went to restart and was going to reinstall but it booted properly. i then did a restart and again it booted fine. i dont get it.

Cleared my cache and Dalvik and my battery life went down the toilet!

The title says it all. I was having issues with errors and apps not responding or force closing, So I thought in would wipe the cache and Dalvik cache in TWRP, just in case there was something corrupted. Upon reboot, my battery life stayed at 65% when full charged, but would eventually charge to 100% when it was being used while charging. Now the batter dies in a very short amount of time! It happened, like that! No slow degradation, just boom! And it was done. Anyone have any ideas, or seen something similar with their Tab A 10.1?

I always wipe cache/dalvik when dirty flashing my rom updates and never had that problem.
I'm guessing you have a bad battery, otherwise it wouldn't have behaved as you described. If you're lucky it's just a glitch - try a few charge cycles :fingers-crossed:

It could be that something other than cache is corrupted. I'd try a factory reset after making sure OEM is enable in dev mode. In my experience, batteries don't go bad all of a sudden. Or, better yet, restore from TWRP backup. You do have a backup, don't you?

Never had a back up. All I did was root the tablet when root was first achieved a couple years ago. Should I try a system reset through TWRP or through the tablet itself? I ran it through the system, and lost root, and supposedly shouldn't have. Would I just be better off loading a new ROM through TWRP off the SD card? I'm sure I could find a stock OEM ROM on here somewhere, now at least. When I rooted the tablet, there was no aftermarket anything... Just the ability to root the device.

Rule of thumb, flash stock ROMs via odin and custom ROMs via TWRP. My choice would be a custom ROM and then BACKUP!!!:laugh:
edit: If you rooted the device a long time ago, that means you haven't been getting any updates. You may well be clear back on Android 6 while the latest custom ROMs are 10 and the latest stock is 8.1. You can get the latest stock with Frija, which is a free download.

I'll have to take a look on my SD card, I recall using Titanium backup, so I'll have to check. Do you have any recommendations? Warranty is gone, so I'll likely install a new ROM, I usually do once it's up anyway
I only browse Reddit, Facebook, a couple other social media apps and I'll play the odd game.
