I'm sure it will eventually, everyone (the super duper awesome devs) just needs time to get the base stable for all supported devices before they can start working magic on all the omni awesomeness....

Since this morning App2SD works with my N7000. Perhaps you should use the latest nightly.

Which app do you use for App2SD?

Hm, not working for me on i9305 with 20131215 nightly There's no button in app dialog to move the app.
Did you modify settings, or did you have to give superuser privileges? I didn't get the question at all...
Update: The dev of a different app (FolderMount) told me OMNI had a bug in RamFS that causes the failure

Latest src didnt give me app2sd

I mailed to the author of an App2SD app Abscheu replied this was a kernel problem, because ramfs for Kitkat need some environment variable exported that has all the partitions in order to allow App2SD. He told me CM11 had this, but neither Omni kernel nor Boeffla kernel for Omni have it. Boeffla maintainer has been told for i9305, and he said he'll tell Boeffla dev, too.
Where should we go to get this done in stock Omni kernel?

Any update coming to fix app2sd?

Again - I do know the fix for the problem, but don't know where to file the bug. Any hints?

I'd say we'd better use the official bugtracker , so I filed the issue along with the proposed solution. Maybe you could vote for the issue so the devs may fix it earlier?

Whomever said it was a ramfs issue is wrong, because the SECONDARY_STORAGE environment variable IS set for smdk4412-common devices:
https://github.com/omnirom/android_...blob/android-4.4/rootdir/init.smdk4x12.rc#L18

So, the question is how to get app2sd working...
Everybody says its not his fault
Btw. I cant get ntfs ore exfat working too

This applies to WHICH devices? (I just have no idea, not even where to look for it )
And regarding the guy who told me - no, he's not very polite nor constructive. It took me three mails to get him telling me about the likely solution, after telling me it's not his fault and he ain't got no time to support buggy kernels :silly:

I haven't tried to do that but remember. Herver's kernels are highly modified. His rom saves dalvik cache to sd card and a2sd if you choose. I'm pretty sure you'll run into problems applying any of the newer ones to a rom besides his.
The moderators need to be consistent.
Either they should allow Hero back on the board or lock *all* threads asking for his kernel due to it being warez since he does not release the full source code.
They cannot have it both ways. Either it is warez, or it is not.
So, the choice is to let Hero's work back on or to lock threads like this one.
The only thing about that is there is nowhere that says "when" you have to release source code.
There are phones out by HTC that still dont have the full source out. They give what they wanna give and thats it. Either way it does say that you should be able to give the source up upon request.. It still doesn't say how long you have to give it though lol.

There sure is
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html
Section 3 says it must accompany the program (in other words, immediately)
3(b) says that if it is a written offer, it must be valid for at least 3 years.
If HTC has not relased the full kernel source, they are copyright infringers too.
The rest of the Android system is covered by a different open source licence, though.
hmm...

Actually the mods can pretty much have it both ways. Allowing an audience to discuss someone else's kernel/rom is substantively different than allowing the developer to use the forum space to promote it.
That being said, I use bakedsnack and think it's great. But I can understand the mods not allowing Hero_over to post here too. /shrug

only for leaked firmware and we have official roms from sammy
Sounds like the Siyah RC6 kernel.
Then again, leaked kernels are leaked kernels. Responsibility is to those who flashes them. The problem is that plenty of people dont seem to understand that flashing anything is a risk that they choose to take.

I would be very interested in this mod also.
Been using Foldermount now and that also doesn't work, just like directorybind.
Contacted the developer and he's going to ssh into my phone tonight to make a workaround for this issue, becouse he doesn't own this phone
Hope he finds a fix becouse of he does it would also be a way to get the internal sd swapped to external mod working on this device I guess.

you are right Ravi, but I have one doubt, how come other Chinese CWM recovery works on our phone? If Gionee haven't provided proper sources, how is a working CWM available for our device, even though it's in Chinese. That shows someone might have proper sources, and we can probably get it from them. Just a thought.
Hope Gionee releases KitKat upgrade soon, along with proper kernel sources for it, searching for devs only won't help them gain any likings from devs!

You see, from snapdragon 800 onwards, you need an extra file called dt.img while building the boot image. Its a device tree contains all the data as to where the addresses and ports are. Now this is device and kernel specific. And we don't have it.
Simply put, even if I take the Chinese recovery, unpack it and repack it without changing anything, it won't boot.

Another thing, the SuperUser app got disappeared in my E7. Rootchecker still shows that root is present.
It has now Vroot app. has it replaced superuser app or is it different?

Yup! It recognizes the display as "toshiba 720p video display" and makes a framebuffer for the resolution. while it should recognise it as "jdi 1080p cmd mode display". That causes the issue.

Best thing might be having this moved to general until a build is out. Then we could troubleshoot/go over build errors on record for the benefit of all. I was going to just put out the PAC builds, but we could do it together (in general) as it tends to be one of the easier ones to start with.
It building now it's just kernel issues. And alrighty I'm sorry for that >. <

Post that error again, and your roomservice.xml(can use Pastebin for that). I dont believe your kernel source is where it is supposed to be. Look in /kernel/samsung, is there anything in there?
:/

No there isn't but I looked in the BoardConfig.mk and changed the location to where I had the kernel. Now it's complaining about the obj idek what that is.

You dont want to change the boardconfig. You're gonna want the klte kernel folder in there where its supposed to be
Post your roomservice.xml from .repo/local_manifests. You prob just need to sync a klte kernel repo to your tree
Aside from a few build errors(overlay/base package stuff) you should be able to essentially sync and build once your roomservice is figured out. It's not yet a supported device so its not gonna write it for you, thats what youre running into

Boom, progress
I just got out off work and have to drive home but im working on stuff, ill shoot you some of the things you'll need when I get back. There are several folders you're missing
Edit: or if thats too much of a wait. Just make one up based off the cm.dependencies file in garwynn's klte repo(github), check that out and make up a local_manifest/roomservice.xml those folders, that tells you exactly what you need.
