[Q] Flash German Stock Rom on French device - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I want to flash the German stock Rom on my french n9005. I don't have root and the device is completely stock.
The reason why I want to change to German stock is that the camera shut sound cannot be disabled in the french Rom without rooting the phone which would void my warranty.
As I have never flashed a Rom, what do I need to do?
Am I right that by replacing the stock rom with another one I won't lose warranty (because the internal counter will not be affected)?
Thanks in advance!

Just flash it, no warranty affected

Could you please tell me which software I need to flash it? Where can I get the German Stock Rom?
Will I be able to get OTA updates with the new Rom (just like it was a German device)?

Better try another ROM than German. My German stock ROM didn't have the option to disable shutter sound.
I'm rooted, so I chose xposed framework and wanam to disable system sounds (also the boot sound).
I think most EU ROMs won't let you disable the shutter sound.

I flashed the UK ROM because i read somewhere that the option is available there, but it isn't. I did a factory reset and then the language was french again, although i the code *#1234# is showing that i have the UK firmware now.
Does someone know which stock rom does have the feature to disable camera shutter sound?
Thanks in advance

I was just wondering why the UK rom (BTU) was on french language just from the beginning when the phone started for the first time when i had flashed the new rom.
Now I have the german stock DBT and the camera is at least silent when the phone is on silent mode. That's ok for me.
Thank you.

I think you want to check out a rom which is non-EU as I think this regulation is EU-wide. Check out sammobile.com. At least you can see which countries are available and then maybe ask in the region specific sub forum on the main page.

You can use odin to flash rom or change region by "*#272*YOUR_IMEI#" and select db which is germany and istall ics.

You can change the region by using the phone dialer and tipped *#272*your imei# and change your region.

If you did the trick with imei in dialer and you dont have the DBT as an option, you must download an open europe full rom,eg xxlc1 and flash it with pc odin
Your existing rom it may not have the DBT as an option so the imei trick does nothing

Hi,
An additional question, if one does this swap, besides completely wiping your phone (isn't it?), does Kies recognize it or does Kies consider this as a "custom" rom?
In other words does my phone become a "real" Open Europe GNote?
Thanks (from a confused newbie on Android )

Yes completely wiping(not sd card).
As far as i remember, kies does not have any problem, but you can use the software update from your phone.settings-about phone-software update i think.im on cm9 so the path is something like that

yeah i read this thread, but as i am new to quite Android (coming from iOS jailbraking) i am quite cautious...
okay so it'll work
steps for my note 3 will be:
-unbrand by Flash mi7 german csc without Branding
-create mj3 rdlv
-Flash created Firmware
- do the sd Card part
[when mj6 german is out]
-create mj6 rdlv
-Flash created Firmware
-do the sd Card part
?? some ppl said something about other files i had to Flash ??
pls confirm/correct me give newies a chance to get pros
sorry, but as I have written it, my CSC is part of the CSC from the stock BTU MJ6 (XEF) and i won't take the risk to play with other CSC even if it seems to can be done
Maybe someone who has unbranded his unit can help you
EDIT : and for the second part, yes use RDLV and add to the zip the boot, non-hlos, modem and hidden part from the stock MJ6 you will use

thank you, extract the files from the tar.md5 and put them wehre in Odin 3.09 ?
so i wait for mj6 DBT right? dont wanna f*ck anything up with CSCs
rename the *.tar.md5 made by RDLV to *.tar and, with 7-zip, open it and add the other parts from the stock firmware (firmware unzipped with 7-zip)
Has anyone heard anything from DG?
I've created a modified version of URDLV that supports the extra bits of newer firmwares and ideally would like his permission before I post it.
Does anyone know which Forum he's living in now?

Lol, I've added an extra option to accommodate the new firmware requiring the modem and HLOS.
So there is now 3 options.
Full (this is a new modified version)
System (was the old full)
CSC (unchanged).

[Q] Upgrade to MJ7 - bootloop - no baseband

Gents,
I have made a upgrade from MJ4 to MJ7 with Odin 3.07.
The result is, that I have now the "bootloop and no baseband issue".
My custom ROM was Omega V4.
I have tested several firmwares (downgrade/other firmware etc.) to solve this issue but no chance to get the N9005 upon running.
EFS recovery has also not helped.
My device is from T-Mobile Germany.
Has anyone an idea how I get my N9005 upon running .... or is it now bricked?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Is that a Germany exclusive law? or does it come under one of the EU Directives? - cause that is bloody great if in the first 6 months they have to replace it whatever the status!

Yes, do hard reset and when the phone is turned on on the first screen it will ask you what Region/Language you wish to use!!!
The phone does not have Polish. I reset it and it will miraculously show up in the drop down list? Please spare me such comments.

First of all you should be more polite when expecting help. Secondly, any generic stock ROM (European) comes with full language pack. And last, flash BTU, DBT or XEO ROM. Any of them contains Polish language pack.
