In some custom ROM's for KitKat have the smiley Messaging app. Hangouts is now for SMS/MMS in stock KitKat

I believe they probably removed the Smiley's in the stock messaging app due to the Hangouts emojis getting added to the stock keyboard.

[Q] Emoji dictionary?

This may seem stupid, but has anyone been able to get the emoji dictionary autocorrect thing to work? I can see the pictures when someone sends them to me, but am not able to send them myself. I downloaded and enabled the dictionary in the settings, but nothing shows up in the suggestions.
Thanks for any info on how to make this work!
I used Kii keyboard and added the droid.sans.fallback.ttf file to my system fonts and I was able to see the black and white version of emojis up to iOS 5 I believe. As far as color and suggestions, I don't think that's working. You can download a messaging app, Handcent SMS, and see them in their colored glory just fine.

Is it possible to put AOSP messaging on our phones?

I downloaded the AOSP messaging apk modified for touchwiz and I can't seem to figure out how to install it or if it is even possible. Does anyone have an idea?

Looks interesting. Gracias sir I shall give it a shot.
I use it in stand-alone mode with the samsung messaging app disabled, but if you want to leave it on in default you can avoid the double notifications by unchecking show notifications for the samsung messaging app

[Q] Android emojis instead of Samsung emojis (4.4.2)

Is there any way to use the android emojis after the 4.4.2 update? Samsung added their own emojis to their keyboard which I can't disable, and even if I type using the google keyboard as the default keyboard it still only shows the Samsung emojis. Thanks

Black/ inverted dialer and messaging

I'm on alliance rom and it is amazing. Only thing I don't like is the stock dialer and the super bright stock messaging. Anyone have suggestions on where I can get black themed or inverted versions of both? Thanks!

Does messaging and keyboard and dialer and everything else. Thanks
Don't know about Messaging, but Ex Dialer (from the Play Store) has a black theme and doesn't require CWM. Works great.

Emoji Replacement (Android to iOS)

What's up guys?
I have been out of the scene for a while (so spare me please).
On my Galaxy S6 Edge (that I had for around 2 weeks) it let me use FlipFont to switch to Emoji Pack 3 (which replaces all Android emojis with iOS ones).
Is this possible on my 6P?
It is possible without root?
Emoji Switcher by Steven Schoen in the Play Store works and has iOS 9.1 Emojis. It does require root however.
I don't know if you can without root but ive used this

Damn. Thanks guys.

Anyone else got this working?
does emoji switcher allow IOS emojis to show up on apps like instagram? I don't have an issue with the keyboard because swype has a set of very similar emojis to IOS already, but I just got my 6p and the emojis showing up in apps like instagram and twitter are the jellybean android emojis which are super ugly. I want the IOS ones to show up like they did on my HTC M9. anyone have any tips? I am rooted if that helps
Anyone had issues losing LTE after changing Emojis?
You will still get black boxes with X's in them for the skin tone Emoji. Why Google couldn't add support for the WHOLE Unicode 8.0 is beyond me.
I am currently working on a project that will allow users to change their emojis. It will change emojis system wide and will not require root.
Hey in the meantime you could try Textra with their in app solution? It'll let you use and see iOS emojis in their messenging app. (Replaces your text messenging app)

This is the best one I've found yet it works great. It's a modified Google keyboard with IOS emoji.
This will help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/mod-switchemoji-t3357495
You won't need to flash your device to use this.
This is by far the easiest. Also works flawlessly https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
