[Q] Completely lost audio after flashing a new ROM - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
After flashing a unstable ROM I lost all and any audio from my Samsung Galaxy S5 i9505
This is the ROM I flashed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42798412&postcount=2
Also:
GSM_Modem_XXUEMKF_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.rar
I have managed to get it back to:
CyanogenMod 10.2 - Snapshot M1 - jfltexx - Android version 4.3.1
Baseband: i9505XXUEMKF
Recovery: PhilZ Touch 6
I thought that returning back to cyanogenMod would resolve the issue. This version of CyanogenMod is normally stable, but currently things are crashing even after a data wipe/dalvik wipe etc
Too be honest when I first got the phone and rooted > flashed a recovery that is when I noticed the phone took a little longer to boot.
Ideally I want to be running a stable version of CyanogenMod but my guess is I would need to return back to stock.
I am from from the UK on the Three network, a XDA link to stock firmware would be great.
Regards
Kas

I hope ur phone will be a S4 GT-i9505. U can download ur STOCK fimware: HERE

[Q] Phone freezing after custom ROM flash

Hi all
I desperately need help i have no idea what to do anymore. Yes i tried to root and rom my phone and i messed up now i cant get it back to just normal functionality.
I downloaded a custom rom and installed twrp 2.6 recover. I flashed a rom and when i started it i only noticed that it was for a Galaxy s2. I could not get out of the setup so it ran and failed. After that i have had the problem that the phone boots fine and goes into any app and has full
functionality until i set it down and the phone locks itself, then the lag is so huge i have to restart my phone to get anything done.
I have tried flashing the correct Omega v13 rom and does the same. Also dit the same with the backup that i made with TWRP before i did the first flash.
Also i tried to get it back to the stock firmware using the following guides.
DroidViews | How to Unbrick Your Bricked Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, GT-I9505, SCH-I545
How to Unroot and Restore Official Stock Firmware for Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 & GT-I9505 | WhatsWithTech.
I have flashed it and done every step correctly but when it boots the first time the whole touch screen doesnt react only the return and home keys work on first startup. If i restart the phone at this point (Just flashed stock firmware re partition with PIT file and new stock kernel) i can complete it but the same problem persists
Please tell me someone can help me fix this screwup.
I have a GT- I9500 Octacore international with Jellybean 4.2.2
This is the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active forum (meaning the I9295 International version/I537 US AT&T only model), not the Galaxy S4 (I9500/I9505/etc) forum which is located here:

Good luck with the problem(s) you're having, however.

[Q] lost wifi after flash, please help

Hi, I've had my Note II LTE for about 16 months. I found it very unstable on the stock 4.1 android it came with and eventually figured out how to flash it and went with the Slim Bean mod I found here, which has been pretty good. However with the latest build of Slim Bean 4.4.2 build 5, the volume was far too low in calls, so I decided to try the stock 4.4.2 rom [ROM] Official Stock Samsung KitKat 4.4.2 rooted & deknoxed
However although it flashed fine, my wifi now won't turn on on the phone, everything else seems to work, but the loss of wifi is a catastrophe.
Furthermore it seems to have unrooted the phone so I can't use RomManager anymore to flash any other rom.
At the moment I'm stuck, I can't seem to flash any Rom as RomManager won't work, I cant boot into recovery (no option) and the Rooting method I orginally used no longer seems to work with this 4.4.2 official Samsung stock build.
Can anyone help me? Either to fix the wifi, or to get a working rom flashed?
Thank you

well by fixed it, I mean I managed to flash a different working rom to it, not that I managed to get the wifi working with the rom I mentioned above.

[Q] Upgrade to latest Samsung rom before installing CM11 ?

Hello
I just bought a Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Black Edition, and it came with Android 4.4.2 installed, knox ready.
Version: KOT49H.I9595XXUFNC4
Baseband: I9595XXUFNC4
A software upgrade is proposed by the system, and it's say that Knox 2.0 will be installed (versus 1.0 available for download)
According to sammobile, the upgrade will provide:
PDA: I9505XXUGNG8
CSC: I9505OXXGNG2
MODEM: I9505XXUGNG8
Is it safe to do this Stock Samsung rom upgrade before installing CM11 ???
The reason why I ask is because CM roms never upgrade bootlader/Baseband, etc...
On my previous GS3 GT-I9300, I experienced weird behaviour after some CM upgrade (about 1 year later). I finally went back to stock rom, in order to get fresh firmware (BL/BB/PDA), and after I reinstalled CM11, every problems were gone !
So I would enjoy to leave Stock Rom with latest firmware on my phone !
The other reason, is because on my G Pad (V500) I updated the system from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 before installing CM11.
Then installing TWRP and CM11 was really painfull to perform after the upgrade (all rooting procedure changed). What I discovered, of course, after the upgrade
Just to finish, I know that after CM11 installation, knox void flag will go to 0x1, which I really don't care, as I will never use Knox anyway...
Thanks for your help.
Fred
It really shouldn't make difference as you're on the 4.4.2 bootloader anyways.
Come on... Nobody here is using Cyanogenmod 11 M9 with latest firmware ?
aka upgraded Stock Rom to latest firmware before installing CM (full process: recovery and then rom) ?
Like memoryeffect said, it makes no difference

Thanks for your feedback.
I was asking because of Knox 2.0. But it seems that any changes bring by XXUGNG8 are only on software side.
Therefore, nothing should prevent to install CM11 M10 (or any other Rom) on the S4.
Cheers

[Q] Samsung S4 SGH-i337m - Can I root it normally

Hey people of XDA,
It's my first time posting so forgive me if its a repeat or dumb question but here goes my story :
I bought a used S4 that was rooted + aws enabled. It was working fine until one day it got stuck on the Samsung logo during boot. I tried clearing cache and factory resetting from the recovery but that didnt work. So I proceeded to reverting the phone to the stock rom with odin, which I got from Android rootz ( Google telus s4 stock rom, its the first link ).
So that worked, the phone booted its 4.2.2 but , no Wifi and no sound no AWS. My question are :
- Why arent the wifi and sound working if it was stock ?
- can I root my S4 following the steps in this thread : (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293800 ) ?
- does it matter which version of Android im on ? for instance, I was thinking about installing the stock kikat for telus before rooting ?
- Does it matter if i use odin 1.85 vs newer versions
THANKSSS

1. I would install 4.4.2
2. If it wont work with odin1.85 use the 3.09 version
3. Install philz touch recovery and select "clean to install a new rom" so everything will be cleaned and the wifi should work fine after flash with odin
4. root it with www.towelroot.com
5. I hope I answered all your questions
Hey,
I really appreciate your help...i just started all this stuff yesterday so lm going to look into philz touch recovery. Also I think I know how to root using odin so im just going to do that once my phone starts working ( unless that doesnt work on 4.4.2 ? )
However, Right now can i just use odin to add in kit kat stock rom for telus ( or any other stock rom for that matter - maybe the one i used was bad )? I honestly want to worry about rooting and AWS after getting the phone fully functional
Thanks again i really appreciate your help

[Q] Very odd issue with Canadian Bell S4 and newer CM11 nightly builds even after sto

Hello everyone.
I recently installed the stock Rom on my S4 to ensure that my modem and base band are being properly updated.
The phone info now is:
Model Info:
SGH-I337M
(cureent version of CM I am using is M9)
Android 4.4.4
Baseband
I337MVLUAMDJ
What has never worked in the microphone without putting my phone on speaker phone during phone calls. Bluetooth works as expected.
However when I now want to go to a nightly build after M9 the radio modem turns off as soon as the screen is locked. This happened also when I went to M11 right AFTER I had the phone on the Stock rom. Th eonly rom that seems to not disable my radio and thus disconnect me from Bell when the phone starts to lock the screen is M9, every other rom after, even nightly builds will simply shut it off.
Is there a procedure for me to recover my pmicrophone use during phone calls without being in hands free speaker mode and what is more important a way to install new CM updates without the radio shutting off promblem?
Thank you!
