Does anybody know of any solutions on how to get this working?
I'm thinking if I push build.prop file from g1, it might start working (but then htc music probably will not work).
tried pushing build.saphhire.prop from superD rom as build.prop, but it didn't work.
known problem for all people on mytouch 1.2's .. here is a workaround i found for you
SOLUTION FOUND!! (I apologize for using all bold, but it's the best way to convey my
excitement)
I finally managed to get my hands on the Google Voice app v 0.2. Did some tweaking
and walaah....a fully functional/non crashing google voice app on the new Mytouch 3G
Fender Limited Edition.
Tested and confirmed working features: SMS outgoing/incoming, Calls
outgoing/incoming, Account balance updates. Pretty much it appears to be fully
functional.
To get yourself setup, follow the instructions below:
1) Download the google voice 0.2 apk here: http://www.mediafire.com/?iui2tmmymit
2) Connect your phone to your computer, and transfer the file over to the SD card.
(Doesn't matter where you put it on the SD card)
3) Disconnect and let the phone prepare the SD Card.
4) Go to market place and install Apps Installer.
5) Launch Apps Installer and it will automatically find the Google Voice apk. Select
it and install.
6) Launch the Google Voice app and follow on screen instructions to set it up.

you dont really need to install app installer if you have something like Astro installed.. just browse to your sd card and run the .apk .. also make sure you have "allow unknow sources" checked under settings-->applications or the apk will fail to install

Hi,
I have searched and tried almost everything to get voice input (for use with iris, google search, ...) working. Did uninstall, reinstall, update, downgrade, still nothing. I'm running latest Oxygen + franco kernel. Any further help resolving this issue is much appreciated!
Install voice search (you may also need TTS (text-to-speech) library) Then it should work...
You didn't read my post I DID install Voice Search, I tried everything - removing whole voice search from system, installing older / newer version. As stated in first post, NOTHING works
What about TTS library - do you have it? Iris wasnt working for me too (it said no speech input) but after I installed voice search it worked What kind of errors do you get ?

Where do I get it? If I search market I get tons of Apps responding to query "TTS Library". If you have any link, I'd appreciate you posting it.

Install all these and try if it works
Also you need to have data or wifi active if you want google voice serach to work
Figured it out. As it turned out, voice search isn't supported in my country. So I had to google for APK (version 2.14). Everything started working then.
I've been able to get most of the Google Apps working in the Kindle Fire HDX with simple sideload and adding account. Below is the video showing the apps working. Follow the link below for instructions and the second link to download the Google apps.

Errors
Hey man, this is great for the most part. However I followed your steps and I constantly get service errors no matter what I'm running. Have you gotten these errors to stop? Also have you found anything more about getting the play store to work?
Thanks,
Sean
Google play not working. Gmail is though. I'm using the play store by logging in via the silk browser, but unlike with the nexus 7 I just returned, I can't get the paid versions I've already bought for my Android phone. Im NOT paying rwice for the same apps (ie Poweramp). I like the Kindle overall, don't mind its Amazon overlay, but completely resent their blocking me from using their competitor's app-store. If they want to really go toe 2 toe with Google, let them develop a full new yet redundant operating system that rivals OSX & Android. Guess I'll have to root. Is not like they own every Kindle & we're just renting like the cable box for $10/mo.
These are not the droids you're looking for.
Yeah, I'm unable to get Google Play to work with this method, and it creates a lot of errors with services and wireless connections in the process.
For all of you having problems: did you also download and install google play services as well? I hear thats required for a lot of the gapps to work.
I can confirm the following apps work with signin and sync and so on:
Maps
Keep
Play Music
Youtube
Drive
Chrome Beta
Gmail
I did need to install play services 3.2.66. And i do get random "com.google.android.gapps" crashes even when not using a google app, but it is easily dismissed.
Hmm i see that the google services framework are version 4.0.4-338691, and the google account manager is 4.0.3-239410. Perhaps it would be better to use 4.2.2 versions (if they exist) ?
Anyone seen those around in apk format? (i've only seen them in the gapps packages for cm10.x and i think they need to be repacked, which i do not know how to do...)
check goo.im for gapps packages you need.

That's exactly what i did. But those come in a .zip for flashing on top of a AOSP rom without google stuff. I'm pretty sure you can't just extract the apks and install them (at least not the one i tried). As i mentioned i expect they need to be repacked in proper apk form, which is something i do not know how to do.

Yes, that's would be one way to do it. Or if you go to the web page using your Kindle Silk Browser then you can download directly to your Kindle Fire HDX.

It's simply a zip file containing the files GAPPS use and the command instruction including where to put all the files. At the moment, since there is no root, it's not possible to write some files to the system folder/directory. But for the APK files, if you install them it would put them on the user application space rather than system application space like normal GAPPS do on custom ROM(s). That said, not all the google apps will require those files to be in the system space. So, no worry there. You would simply unzip the file and try to install the apks and move the files to the user space if you can. That's the best you could do for now. I could write a little script file to do that as I did on the Nook HD+. Hence that's the root and GAPPS was done in the Nook HD+ at the beginning. I'm not gonna bother writing any script as I'm still waiting for my 2nd replacement unit. If this thing goes south again, I would just return the device and wait to see if I would get the new 2013 Nexus 7/10. I might even keep my eyes open for those 8inches Windows 8.1 tablet also.
Are notifications and background sync working for Gmail? I've read conflicting reports.
Thanks!

Any more of those annoying FCs? Did you just install the apks and nothing else? Where did you get them from?
I've not tried it for a week or so but ended up just removing the google stuff as it just kept crashing.

No FC at all works fine, all I did was go to Google play, search for the apps, find the version numbers, and downloaded through websites on Google search, Android police have them if I remember rightly, all I did was I stall the apks through es file explorer

When you say latest "services" do you mean Google Services Framework or Google Play Services? What version of each do you have installed?
No more google crashes after many resets and installs of Google service. Its possible. Everything is working without errors .otherwise I would of kept it off. I installed vending.apk inside system and outside... followed cowboy's instructions..very happy. I'm rooted though

DISCLAIMER: this is not my work, all credits goes to Jenkins (creator of android N-ify)
Pre-requisite:
Having exposed running on your device.
Steps:
1- download and install this Google app (beta) here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-app-6-6-14-21-arm64-android-apk-download/
2- download and install the latest Android N-ify module (#697) here: https://ci.paphonb.xyz/jenkins/job/AndroidN-ify/
3- once you install them both, activate the module and wipe data and cache of the google app.
4- give permissions to google app. (Don't open it yet)
5- reboot.
And you now have google assistant.
If you can't access google assistant by holding on home button, go to settings--->apps--->advanced--->default apps--->assist and voice input, and then choose google app.
What's the point of making a thread specific to our phone for someone else's work that applies to all MM devices...?
I just shared, that's it
OK Google detection doesn't work properly. I tried using the the original thread's suggestion of training the voice model, then changing the buildprop.
Anyone have any ideas?

I have problems downloading files in some apps (Tapatalk, 4PDA...) and installing apps from Google Play on Nubia Z17 Lite - the download stops working at one time. Sometimes it helps to change the WiFi network, but sometimes I have to clear Google Play and Google Play Services cache and memory and reboot the phone. Does anyone know of any lasting solution to this problem? Thank you in advance

I have the same problam. Help
I had same problem.I go to apps and force stop Google play stroe and Clear data. Also i do same to Google Services and fix my problem every time.I hope Nubia fix this with update
I am also having problems with Play Store and Google account synchronization - it worked fine for a few days, but then Play Store stopped downloading/updating any apps (it is stuck on Downloading, but doesn't start to download anything) and synchronization to my Google Account doesn't work.
I tried various methods, like rebooting, removing data&cache of Play Store+Google Play Services+Download manager, uninstalling/reinstalling Play Store & Google Play services, removing/re-adding my Google account, wiping cache+dalvik from TWRP, but nothing helped. Then I realized that when I kill SwiftKey process, it started to work instantly. It seems that SwiftKey is blocking Google services mainly when I have synchronization to Google Account enabled. Then I noticed the same problem with Google Contacts app.
I suspect that it may be one of Nubia system apps what is causing these problems.
What I found is some text in a Russian forum, translated using google translator, it can be worth of trying to disable that app cloning service:
For what it's needed: firstly , for those who do not use cloning, this is an unnecessary functionality; secondly , this chip conflicts with Google's synchronization (for example, with the G-board keyboard) and in general with all Google services. Who does not care about all this, you can not read further.
What you need: TWRP or root-access, PC and ADB
1. Delete CMVirtualbox.apk (located on the system / priv-app / CMVirtualBox path ) or just rename / delete the .apk extension to ease the rollback.
2. Connect the phone to the PC, run the command line (all the necessary drivers must be installed, debugging by USB is enabled, the start is made from the ADB folder), we write the command:
adb shell pm remove-user 10
and press enter. After success, reboot for persuasiveness.
As a result, cloning will be disabled, G-board keyboard messages "Synchronization on devices with G-Suite account or Android for work profile is not supported" will not appear any more and Google services will work more adequately. Successful to you of samples!
PS For rollback just return CMVirtualbox.apk , reboot, and everything returns to normal.

For me, the problem was resolved by uninstalling SwiftKey. For some reason, it blocks Google services and just stoping it's process or hibernating it using Greenify solves the problem immediately. Maybe it would help also to use sync with Microsoft account instead of Google in SwiftKey settings. I saw a similar issue also with Google Contacts app (Nubia Contacts works fine).
Since switching to Gboard, problem didn't appear again and Google Play and sync works without any issues.

You are welcome Although not rooting it would be pity...With root it is easier to get the phone into more useable state, like background apps not getting killed to get notifications on new messages properly etc. It helps to turn a few apps into system apps and/or add them in ProcessManager database as protected apps.
How to root?

I think there is no detailed step-by-step guide, but you can gather information from threads about this phone. You mainly need to have ADB drivers, unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and from it flash Magisk.

LATEST UPDATE: Now I'm stuck in the "Nubia...Powered by Android" start screen. This happened after I tried to install v1.05. This opened the TWRP screen in Chinese. I selected the bottom-right button and then again the bottom-right and chose English and then rebooted.
I can still get into twrp mode by long pressing the volume down + power keys.
What steps do I need to take to make the phone boot properly again?
-----
-- I posted this section below earlier before I had this boot problem
--
I finally found the time (and the courage) to try this out.
SuperSu was installed so hopefully I didn't miss anything. Does it mean that the device is rooted?
I can successfully get into su mode with a terminal app.
Also, I have two root checker apps. One is showing that the device is rooted, and the other shows that it's not.
All my apps and settings remained as they were.
IS THIS OK? I expected that the process will wipe all the data.
I didn't flash majisk. IS IT NEEDED IF THE DEVICE IS ALREADY ROOTED?
And lastly, I still can't download from the play store
Any suggestions on that issue?
Thank you so much

How did you install v1.05? You need to do it from emergency recovery using OTG cable/adapter, not from TWRP.
If you went from LineageOS to stock, you need to wipe data from emergency recovery, because the storage is encrypted.

1. You can try wiping data & cache partitions.
2. Use that emergency recovery and flash zip over OTG from there again.

Thank you,
I already tried that.
The problem is that in emergency recovery mode the thumb drive that is connected with OTG cable is not recognized.
In TWRP I can mount that drive, but in emergency recovery mode its not mounted.
UPDATE: I tried different USB drives. One of them mounted. I found that this one was formatted in FAT. Since this is a small 2Gb drive that cannot hold the ROM, I found another drive that was formatted in ExFAT that also loaded correctly.
I loaded the ROM as suggested and now the phone is working again.
My guess is that the phone can't read NTFS file format in emergency recovery mode.
Thank you!!!

Yes, NTFS is not supported very well on Android. Use just FAT32, that should work fine. ExFAT also works only somewhere....

In that case you probably don't have SwiftKey installed - it is not installed by default But if Play Store doesn't download and Google account sync doesn't work for you, it may be some different app causing the deadlock. You should go thru all apps and force closing them one by one...when you kill the problematic process, Play Store will start downloading immediately. You can do it from Settings - Apps, or use some app for that.
I really appreciate your help.
I forcefully disabled all apps but the problem remained.
